My wife has severe dry eye disease, and she uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) eye drops created from her own plasma as part of her treatment regimen. Currently, to obtain a batch that lasts for about 3-4 months, we need to drive 3 hours each way to the nearest eye doctor that makes PRP and pay about $900. Since she'll be using these eye drops for potentially years to come, we'd like to start making these PRP eye drops from home.
My wife is a pharmacist, so we are confident that we'd be able to handle the centrifuging, "recipe", and sterility. However, we do not know how to actually draw her blood. So, we were hoping that I would be able to take a course to learn how to draw her blood. Unfortunately, I am an engineer with no medical background.
I saw our local community college offers a phlebotomy certification program that costs about $900 and includes 180 hours of instruction. However, that seems a bit overkill since I don't need a certification and I just need to learn how to draw blood. Are there online classes that could effectively teach me how to draw my wife's blood that would be cheaper and quicker than $900 & 180 hours?
We're also looking into mobile phlebotomists in our area (so far unsuccessfully), but we'd still prefer to have me learn if it is feasible. We understand that this will require a lot of planning and that this decision isn't one to be taken lightly. Thanks!

As the title suggests, I’m looking for the input of high school history teachers (especially US History). I’m pasting a comment below I made on another sub. The responses I got made me feel like my experience is abnormal. My comment was in response to a post about the differences between approaching history in the US and in Germany. It was not a history or teaching sub, and none of the responses were from people who IDd themselves as teachers. I shared a recent anecdote from my own classroom that I thought illustrated things well. The responses were mostly along the lines of “I was taught all that stuff before high school, even the dark parts of history.” I just genuinely don’t think that is true for many (if not most) students. I have been teaching history for 21 years. I am including my whole comment below (including the one edit I made).
ETA: I’m not suggesting this student didn’t realize slavery existed. She was genuinely surprised to hear how embedded it was in the structures and institutions of the US. I decided I should clarify after I got called a “stupid fucking liar” and a “bitch” for inadvertently wording things in a way that suggested she never knew slavery existed. Apologies if I misled you!
I am a high school social studies teacher (US history, world history, and sociology) and this semester in US history we’ve learned about slavery, Indian boarding schools, and many other things that happened through the reconstruction era. One relatively intelligent 17 year old raised her hand and asked “why is this the first time I’m hearing about any of this?” I was about to tread very lightly with my answer (American political discourse about our history is wild right now)but luckily, I have a student whose father immigrated here from Germany. I also believe he’s a bit older than most parents (maybe around 60) and she laughed hysterically and told her classmate “because you’re American and we pretend our history is great.”

Similarly for the initial M in mnemonic, the C in cnidarian, etc. Either-or should be considered correct, not unpronounced only. These words come from Greek, where these initial consonants were fully pronounced, and English removed them to make it “easier”.
