Hey yall!!
Wondering if someone can help me answer this. My wife and I have 2 kids already, and are having a 3rd in May.
I recently started a new job and am wondering which plan would be best for us? I’m a bit confused by the out of pocket max and deductible and such.
For the high deductible plan my company will give me $2000 into my HSA should I go that route.
If I do the FSA my company puts nothing towards that.
In the past on high deductible plans I’ve had to pay around $4400 out of pocket.
Can someone help me figure out which of these plans will cost me less money? I know it’s a bit of an ambiguous questions as we don’t know what the cost of care will be for mom/baby. But I appreciate any insight!
High deductible plans
$660 annually - $4k deductible - $9400 out of pocket max. $2k towards HSA from company
Other plan $4146 - $500 deductible - $1000 out of pocket max.

I tried to ask this on the goose subreddit but I guess the mods didn't want it to go through so I'm asking it here. I can totally understand them using the name if they used it for years and gained a following before they found out that there was another band by the same name but since they've used the lowercase g for as long as I can see, it seems like they've known about the other band pretty much the whole time so I'm just wondering if there's any definitive knowledge on this matter

2024.11.25 16:40 Useful-Ad-6458 Timing between rounds of treatment - detrimental to progress?
I've been working with a naturopath for the past 5 months or so. We do a 30 day round of treatment, breath test, then move onto the next round of treatment. I've always read that it's good to take breaks of 1-2 weeks in between rounds of treatment to help prevent resistance to the meds. However, I've ended up having ~4 weeks in between rounds of treatment simply due to the Doctor's office practices. Here's what I mean...
Upon finishing treatment, I'm waiting ~4 days to do the at-home breath test (Dr has said that's enough time and I don't need to wait the 2 weeks the test suggests). I then wait ~8 days for results to come in. I can only get into the Dr for this type of appt on one specific day of the week, so I often end up waiting for the appt for another week or so. Then I wait ~5 days for the Dr to send the treatment plan, and then another 5-7 days for supplements to come in.
All in, I'm waiting ~4 weeks between rounds of treatment. So day, my breath test results initially went down, then went back up, then slightly down. Overall there hasn't been solid progress.
Could waiting this long in between rounds of treatment be detrimental to the treatment, or does it not matter (so long as I'm not doing anything crazy re: diet during that in between time)?
I've read about people doing several rounds of treatment with long wait periods in between and still being able to beat this, but I don't actually know their specific timelines.
I'm finding myself becoming increasingly anxious about the wait time, and I feel that alone is probably having a detrimental effect.
Any thoughts or experiences?

2024.11.25 16:40 ChaseDonovan Average cost per share when I close out 1 position for a gain and put it in another position.
New to investing. I know the calculation for finding average cost per share in a position. What I'm confused about is the following:I used to have two positions, Amazon and voo. I invested a total of x amount of dollars for both positions. Amazon went up, I sold it for a gain and put it all in voo.
Now my voo position shows my total cost for all shares, but my original total dollar amount invested is still x.
So my cost of voo shares is higher than the original amount of x I initially invested because of the gains I used to buy more voo.
It's like if I invested $50 in Amazon and $50 in voo, sold Amazon for 75 and put it in voo for a voo position of $125, even though I only invested $100. Do I divide $125 by number of voo shares to get average cost, or do I divide the original amount I invested, $100, by total number of voo shares? I feel stupid.
