Hi all. I'm in need of an advice about an encounter I'm preparing for my group. You need to know that I'm trying to write a fanfiction and the campaign I'm running is based on the story I have in mind, and this campaign is helping me to make a more interesting story about everything. That said, this is going to be the "boss" encounter that will put an end to the first part of this campaign. The group is formed by a Iomedae Paladin Oath of Vengence, a Rogue, a Desna Warpriest and a Mage Spellslinger, all of them 6th level and well equipped with customized magic items. Their nemesi is an Urgathoa Cleric Lord of Undead 9th level with two companion: one is a blood skeleton and other is kind of headless ghoul, customized. I want to make an interesting encounter, well balanced, but not letal enough to wipe the entire group, just to make it difficult. My idea was to rise the skeleton and the other unded CR to 5 or 6. I understand there are not many details in this description, but I need to understand if tihs could be more or less a balanced encounter or maybe is too much for level 6 PG. It's my first campaign as DM and I still need to learn a lot.

2024.11.25 14:38 Ccaptions My golden retriever has super glue on his toes
My 6 month old found a tube of super glue who knows where while I was outside taking the bins out and when I came home, somehow my 18 month old older pup had stepped on the tube.
The super glue is all over his toe furthest to the side and it's attached to one of the nails. It's also between his toes slightly and I think it has damaged the skin or caused it to be raw at least. He's starting to pull at the fur so it's going bald.
We have no idea how to get the super glue off the skin. We've tried acetone, oil, nail varnish remover, all the Google suggestions.
Is there anything a vet can do here that we can't do at home? We're trying to chip away at it slowly with nail clippers but it's on the skin and we won't be able to remove all of it.
Would love some help. Thanks!

2024.11.25 14:38 Throwalongterm Samsung ultrawide g95sc problem (Samsung can't fix it)
(TLDR - I think game mode is causing me to return this amazing monitor) So I've had my g95sc for a year now. In that time, the first one got replaced due to artifacts at 240hz, the second one was replaced to solve my current problem with no resolution. Samsung is currently planning on picking up the monitor and giving me a $1350 coupon to buy anything on their site. Im questioning whether its the monitor at all at this point.
My specs: i5 13600k, msi suprim liquid x 4090, 64gb g95sc for primary monitor, and pixio p277 165hz monitor for the right screen.
Issue: If i have game mode active on the g95sc (240hz mode) when i turn on the monitor before the pixio, the screen stays black. Windows detects the g95sc; the task bar is on the black screen, and display settings sees both monitors.GPower cycling the G95sc fixes the blank screen and all is good.
2nd issue: Games like the new Call of Duty also cause the G95sc to go black, and the graphics settings do not show the name of the monitor. Unplugging the display port cable and plugging it in sometimes fixes the issue, and other times the game crashes. When the screen goes black, the game alternates to the secondary monitor.
Previous to this monitor, I had an Alienware 34" ultrawide, and had no issue, but was limited to 120hz. I have tried replacing the display port cable, swapping porta on the video card and cannot find anything wrong with my system. When game mode is disabled, the issue goes away. I'm at a loss of what to do next. Anyone have an idea if there is something i am overlooking? If i need to refund this monitor, what should I replace it with?

I’m looking into buying one reclining seat, but they don’t seem to take into account existing customers who don’t need the extra back or seat cushions. Here’s the breakdown of adding 1 reclining seat to my cart. It’s sold as a set that can’t be be separated.

i applied for a spring (january 2025) co-op in march 2024, interviewed in may, received a CJO in july, submitted my 86 in august, and had my background investigation initiated in september.
last month (mid-october) my investigator reached out to pretty much all my contacts within 1-2 weeks. some of my references told me that the investigator said they had enough information so they didn't need to speak with them anymore. the people who did speak with the investigator told me that the investigator expressed that they have a good impression of me.
it's been ~month since my last reference was interviewed. i know i need to a final determination by/in december since i have to be onboarded by/in january (not sure what the exact start date is).
i'm aware how long background checks can take, but i'm worried i won't get a decision in time? i think my investigator already compiled all my information and sent it forward to someone to make the final decision. i just don't know when that decision will be made...
any thoughts?

Prostitution is legal in the UK. Soliciting is illegal. However if brothels had proper regulations in place, it would not only make prostitution safer (because there would be CCTV in the bedrooms), it would lessen the spread of STI's since screening would be forced by regulations. I also believe it would cause a decrease of sexual violence because men have more of an outlet for sexual frustration.
Prostitution is like drugs. You cannot outlaw it and expect it to go away. It never will. So why not regulate it and actually make it safe?
