Good day,
Albertan here. I've always been a fairly healthy individual with good cardiovascular health and decent BMI. I have gotten by and felt sufficiently covered using what's covered by Alberta Health : GP, and emergency visits. Career has either been gig work, on call, or contractor, so I've never had work that had extended insurance benefits.
But as I hit 40, I'm looking down the barrel of the standard health issues. More Dental work, possible medication as I age (late onset type 2 diabetes seems to be common in one side of the family and heart issues and hypertension on the other), and For me specifically, CPAP as my snoring and apnea just can't be ignored anymore.
I'm on my last few days of trialing a CPAP machine after finally a conclusive sleep study, and I think I'll make this a lifelong commitment now. It's worth it.
Now I need additional health coverage. For those in the know and or are from the same region as me, what do you recommend I look into? (as mentioned, dental, medication, cpap coverage at a minimum)

One night my brother comes home from his dads (mine and his are different) and his dad peeled into the driveway causing ruts. Normally this would not be a big deal but I had just spent hours harrowing it with my tractor (ford 9N) a while ago and it was still perfectly flat. This morning I asked him to help fix the ruts his dad made by peeling in, all I asked him to do was haul some dirt to the low spots so I could harrow it with the tractor again. He got mad and told me it's not his responsibility to fix it because he didn't do it. I reminded him that he doesn't help that much so he could at least help me do the driveway. He says again that he shouldn't have to do it because he didn't make the ruts. AITAH for asking for his help?

Hi all, something that's been cooking in my mind for a while, I know 3 individuals very close to me (one is my long term girlfriend) who have attended 3 different RG unis. 2 of them have done engineering courses and 1 has done biology. Now I loved my time at university which was a bog standard uni hovering in the ranks somewhere in the 30-40s nationally. But no one who's attended a RG seems to have actually enjoyed anything about them?
All 3 of the people I know have (behind closed doors) admitted to me that the education they received was sub-par at best. Constantly changing lecturers, lecturers with little to no English, lecturers who just upped and disappeared, lecturers who simply refused to do anything other than the bare minimum, constantly changing curriculum.
The former engineering students BOTH complained about workshops and tools being ancient at both their universities. One said that there was 1 drill to be shared between 4 different work groups with only a few bits. And that the "tool box" they were given had something like 2 screw drivers and rusty tri-square that wasn't even on edge. Similarly they had to return all the kit they got for projects, things like multimeters, arduino-kits, robot building kits etc. All had to be returned or you'd lose a deposit. My university let me keep everything they ever handed out. I have something like 2 arduino kits and a box full of components, multi-meter and parts from my 3 years as a former engineering student as well.
The former biology student told me that she needed a piece of software for her final disso and her tutor straight up told her that they couldn't get it for her and that she'd have to pay out of pocket or change her topic. I believe she ended up pirating it in someway or maybe shared a license with a couple of other students. For reference I required some ANSYS software for my disso and within 2 emails I was given a full license to get cracking with.
All 3 people I know have little to no fond memories of their time at university. Now here's the catch. I've asked all 3 why have you not complained? Made a racket on social media? Told a journalist perhaps? You're all in thousands of £ in debt? Why not make some noise? And they all gave me the same answer:
"I suffered for my degree, so should others, and my degree is worth more because its from a RG university, why would I want to ruin its reputation now that I'm out?"
So is this what's really happening? RG unis set their entrance standards to be incredibly high, just so they get the finest college and international students who they know will weather the academic storm. And they rely on everyone keeping their mouths shut because they don't want to damage the reputation of the university that they hold a degree from. After all, they suffered a terrible education, the least they deserve is the reputation or the uni?
I'm not trying to slander anyone's education is here, but 3 for 3 of the people I know have all individually made identical complaints about top 10 ranking universities. Where they just unlucky or is this some well kept secret between RG former students that you have to stay hush hush or your degrees reputation will be slandered?

Bom, durante essas duas semanas o meu apetite foi para 0 e eu estou ficando preocupado (eu sei que o remédio também serve para tratamento para compulsão alimentar).
Eu estava em bulking (sou magro/ectomorfo), fui de 73 suados kg para 69kg ou até menos agora. Eu estou buscando estratégias para conseguir burlar esse efeito, me alimentando mesmo sem fome, mas está difícil. Eu até pensei em tomar Biotônico ou Cobavital... pela experiência de vocês, o que vocês sugerem? Vocês possuem alguma estratégia? Vi em outros posts que esse efeito é "temporário", com o tempo vai melhorando.

 | I’m an avid writer and finally got my very first fountain pen recently (a super cheap discount store one). I fell in love with it and just bought a Lamy Al Star last week after owning the first for less than ten days. I need some suggestions though on notebooks/ paper specifically that isn’t going to break the bank. I’ve searched the subreddit but haven’t found much when it comes to cheap notebooks unfortunately so far I typically write with fineliners or pencil and have fallen in LOVE with Pen + Gear spiral notebooks for my everyday writing stuff. They work okay-ish with my Lamy but I’m finding that my nib is scratching a lot on it whereas it doesn’t on other papers. The employee from where I purchased it suggested trying a different paper but didn’t have any recommendations outside of sketchbooks. I’m specifically hunting for something ruled. Are there any cheap brands of notebook or notebook paper that work somewhat decently for daily general writing use? I’m on disability and pretty much scraping by at the moment (buying the Lamy was a bit of a splurge for me to say the least- but a well deserved one) so I need the cheapest of cheap options you’ve got. And since the holidays are here, what are some nice journals I should put on my wish list?
