Simple question. I think. My humidifier is hooked up to the “G” screw at the furnace so the fan comes on when there is a call for humidity. Can I also attach the fan wire from the thermostat to the same “G” screw at the furnace so if I want the fan alone to work it can? TIA

2024.11.25 14:49 BordoAvocado How to negotiate salary after receiving an offer? Need advice on what reasons to bring up
The company I worked at for the past 5 years went bust, and I’ve spent the last 1–2 months applying to jobs and going through interviews.
Recently, I applied for a remote job that I really liked. There were a lot of applicants, and when asked about salary expectations I said 80k-90k.
When the recruiter called me, I had grown to like the opportunity even more. During the conversation, I mentioned 70k as requested salary, mostly because I forgot what I said earlier (2 weeks before) and didn’t want to out-price myself. The recruiter assured me it was within their budget.
The interview with the hiring manager went well. Interestingly, they were very candid, saying the work might be monotonous, the requirements unclear, chaos all around etc., the manager already left the company once because of these and rejoined later. I’m not sure if they were trying to test my interest or just being transparent to avoid quick turnover. During this interview, they asked about my salary expectations, and I gave the same figure as I’d told the recruiter. The manager then indicated that it might be too low, mentioning additional costs like providing my own equipment (laptop, monitors, etc.).
Afterward, the recruiter called to schedule a final interview with the team. During this call, they mentioned that in the first few months, I’d likely need to work afternoons/evenings to accommodate meetings in other time zones. This wasn’t mentioned in the job ad (they were looking for someone in my timezone). Additionally, there might be some overtime expected due to a project launch in April, though this wasn’t completely clear.
I like the role and am fine with the additional details, but I realized I hadn’t accounted for some of these factors when I stated my salary expectations.
If I get an offer with the salary expectation that I told the recruiter during the screening call, would it be reasonable to ask for a 7–14% increase (from 70k to 75-80k)?
Here are my considerations:
- Equipment: I didn't know they don't provide it, I have everything I need right now but it'll need to be replaced in the long run
- Coworking space: My previous employer covered coworking space rental outside of my salary, which I forgot to include. I could work from home as well, it's just more comfortable from a professional work environment
- Working outside business hours: Regular meetings in evenings/afternoons for time zone differences
- Overtime: Potential crunch time leading up to April, maybe more
If push comes to shove I would be fine with accepting the requested salary as well, seems like a good learning opportunity and colleagues seem cool.

Quick intro. Sooooo I like to travel a lot and to help me find my next adventure I like to come up with a creative theme. For example I’ve done a National Park tour, Beach Bum tour, Crazy AirBnB tour, and currently wrapping up the McDonald’s tour.

My 17 yr old lies everyday all day. her first thoughts are to make up something and it never even holds weight. It creates lots of problems in my household, between her and I and her also her siblings. It's really annoying and frustrating and makes me angry honesty. Idk what to do atp. its heavy on me and now i never know when it's actually the truth and she then becomes upset with me for not believing her but im explaining its her fault that i cant tell.
