The bigining is just normal vaguely racist bullshit without really any explanation fighting a generic terror group but your hunting some shadowy backer but at the last moment your called away before you call in a strike and your CIA handler is a dick to you far almost disobeying orders.
Then your told to take some supplements for mineral deficiency.
Then your sent to Russia or something on a covert op to spy on some random Nazi looking PMC to do some generic infiltration mission but your cut off from your handlers due to jamming but you see something you went supposed to. The CIA HANDLER IS GIVING WEAPONS TO THE NAZIS TO PROLONG THE WAR IN UKRAINE. But you finish the mission but have serious doubts about the CIA.
Then you go to somewhere like Yemen and there is an action scene your hunting some defectors that are evil or something. But you didn't take your supplements. The people you killed included civilians. But before you find out anything else your capture by those defectors.
It turns out mk ultra didn't end and the CIA have been working on a way of overcoming soldiers resistance to killing civilians and also deliberately destabilizing the world. It's not just your shady CIA handler, it's the entire CIA and DOD. The supplements were really mind control drugs it's not just mind control it reduces empathy and heightened threat response.
The next mission you go on is now as a defector rescuing a whistlbpwer and you see the extent of it. But also the fact that you got a watered down version of the mind control drug and they are about to use it to chemtrail the entire USA then the west. Because the USA wants to seem like a democracy but that's inconvenient, so if everyone can be brainwashed it will be fine and they can side step any resistance.
Then you decide to take out the CIA and the game ends with an insane battle on the Pentagon. It ends with you fighting the CIA guy and preventing the launch of the chemtrail planes.

I just finished the game for the first time. And I feel awful.
This game has messed with my sense of ethics and morality more than any other I’ve ever played. I found myself second guessing everything, every choice, every skill point, every conversation. My Harry went around trying to make amends, quitting booze, but it wasn’t enough.
Elizabeth, Titus, Angus, and so many others died because I failed checks. My “partners” in the 41st hate me because of what I did.
And yet I didn’t do enough. I didn’t do enough of the side missions, didn’t see all of Martinese. Did I make the right choices? Even though I caught The Deserter (fuck him by the way), I still don’t feel satisfied. All that suffering, all the pain, for what? Why?
I need to play the game again.
