In "two similar ideas", "two" is a determiner. "Two same ideas" would be ungrammatical, because "same" may not modify the same noun as "two". The issue is one of grammar, not of meaning. The meaning of "identical" is even closer to that of "same" than "similar" is, yet "identical" may be used grammatically in ways that "similar" can and "same ... It might just look like four words that contradict each other, but this one phrase perfectly described our experiences. Each of the countries we visited would use the same herbs in different ways, or have ways of bargaining that were similar, yet different. Even among our group, we all spoke English, but in many different ways. It is functioning as a preposition. It forms a prepositional phrase "Like smaller companies", meaning "Similar to". The subject of the sentence is "the larger companies", and you probably shouldn't separate the subject from the verb "continue" with a comma. This is better than considering "like" to be an adjective. or something similar, apparently meaning that he excreted. In that usage, I don't find this different from any other euphemism. 2024.11.25 14:44 JJJ54321 What are easiest steps if I’m switching to T-Mobile and porting over a number/getting an iPhone 16 but want to just use my existing iPhone?

I picked up some Samsung s9s that we are using for the trade in so not trading in our actual phones.
What are the steps if I want to port over the number but keep it on the existing iPhone?

  1. Open new iPhone and register it with the temp phone #
  2. Call to T-Mobile and port over Verizon # to the new iPhone
  3. Move the eSIM over from the new iPhone to existing one (it’s unlocked). Can I just do this via the iPhones or do I need to do it via tmobiles website or call-in?
Is there a more straight forward way without opening and activating the iPhone 16? Not a big deal if so but if I can go directly to the existing iPhone that would be preferred but I also don’t want to make it more complicated that necessary and open up potential issues.

2024.11.25 14:44 Clear_Moose5782 3 Up, 3 Down, Bears Edition

For the past 30 odd years, Bears games - and especially Soldier Field Bears Games - have had their own distinctly weird feeling to them. Special team miscues (or brilliance, depending on your vantage point), defensive lapses, untimely penalties, offensive ineptitude, and some perplexing coaching decisions, while present in almost all NFL games, are always magnified at Soldier Field. Now with the Bears’ acquisition of Caleb Williams and the promise he displayed at moments on Sunday, that may change, but all of those forces were still in effect. And, I will admit, it was a game I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. If “bad vibes” can kill a team, I was killing my Vikings on Sunday.
Even after JPR’s field goal to go up by 11 with under 2 minutes left, I still thought the Vikes would lose that game. Now, to be clear, I felt the Vikings were the superior team all Sunday. They moved the ball better, they tackled better, the played within structure better, and they didn’t actively hurt themselves with costly penalties. But “vibes” just seemed off all game. This really reminded me of the 2003 season ender against the Cardinals where the Vikings were the better team but just couldn’t stick the dagger in them and Josh McCown made the play of his career.
My unease (obviously) started with the Jones’ fumble at the one yardline (which is a very Bears-y type of play). And then really manifested with the bad officiating break we got on the subsequent Bears’ punt when we lost 3 yards to penalties. After that I couldn’t shake the feeling we’d lose - regardless of the ensuing breaks that went our way.
But, I was wrong. And I’m happy to be wrong. So, without further psychological introspection on the anxiety this team causes me, here are my 3 ups and 3 downs.

  1. Most Vikings fans were not wild over the acquisition of Sam Darnold. And he’s been up and down this season. But, it would be a lie to say that he has not exceeded expectations and has played at at least the same level as Cousins did during his tenure. And, yesterday, he was very good in high leverage situations. He converted 2 first downs over 10 yards, and only threw short of the sticks 2x on third down. He didn’t have many (if any) turnover worthy plays. Now, I’m sure that here will be another downturn in his play this year (he - like Cousins - has always been a bit streaky, but I’ll just enjoy this resurgence.
  2. John Parker Romo. My Man - We know you like Parker Romo, but keep JPR as a stage name. It just rolls of the tongue better. None of his kicks were particularly difficult, but it is great to continue to have confidence in our kicking game. Kickoffs have been solid, and he’s only missed on kick in the three games, and that was an XP ( I do long for the day when Vikings’ kickers quit missing those 32 yarders).
  3. Offensive Flexibility. A lot of this goes back to Darnold’s play, but everyone else stepped up in the passing game. Addison with a career high, Hockenson with over 100 yards. Nailor with a TD. The Bears elected to devote 2-3 guys on Jefferson every play and make the other guys beat them. And, due to Darnold’ expanding his vision, the other guys’ beat them. And of course Jefferson still had a HUGE impact on the game, by drawing penalties that resulted in first downs, and all of the defensive attention. The most impactful 2 catch, 27 yard performance of all time.
And, some things I didn’t like.
  1. We have got to figure out a more power run game. Despite Jones having >100 yards, it is hard to say that the running game was really impactful. And we still went away from it a bit too much at times. The lack of a strong running game will be this team’s offensive weakness down the stretch and into the playoffs.
  2. Defense’s inability to keep Williams in the pocket. Most of his impactful plays came when the structure broke down. He was poor against regular pressure. If you are going to rush 5 or 6 guys, you need to ensure you keep a mobile QB contained, otherwise he will beat you. And he did on several 3rd and 4th down plays.
  3. Our secondary. I love all players, but other than Bynum and Murphy, they are mostly old and slow. They are smart and play with good technique and don’t blow assignments (all of which is very valuable), but they can’t stand up for more than 2.5 second or so so if the pass rush doesn’t get home, this is a problem. And the secondary will be this team’s defensive weakness down the stretch.
Honorable mention goes to some awareness issues - the botched onside kick recovery, and Jones’s fumble. But, while that stuff SHOULD be cleaned up at this point in the season, it CAN be cleaned up. I’m not sure the other issues can be.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that the Vikings responded after having nearly given the game away by getting a defensive stop and then driving to win the game. That, historically, is a rare sequence for this franchise.
Lastly, a win is a win, and apologies for winning in the NFL, particularly on the road) are never needed Some games are just ugly (after all, the Chiefs had a bit of a scare against the Panthers), and the Texans dropped one to the Titans - at home). We should all just bask in this victory and this season.

Hallo,
ich weiß, dass Biologe/Biologin kein geschützter Begriff ist und sich potentiell jedermann so nennen darf.
Wobei es letztendlich schon verwirrend ist, wenn sich eine Person als BiologIn bezeichnet, die nie etwas in die Richtung gemacht hat. Zumindest fände ich das komisch.
Ich selbst hatte vor nem Jahr angefangen Biologie fachwissenschaftlich zu studieren. Aufgrund eines potentiell schlechten Jobmarktes habe ich nun Erziehungswissenschaft im Hauptfach und Bio nur noch im Nebenfach. Beides aber fachwissenschaftlich (nicht auf Lehramt)
Ich schreibe sehr gute Noten und bin auch so sehr interessiert in der Biologie. Wäre es dennoch komisch, wenn ich mich mit dem Hintergrund irgendwann mal als Biologin bezeichnen würde?
Nicht dass ich durch die Straßen laufe und rufe “Hey schaut her, ich bin Biologin” sondern wenn man vielleicht mal mit Freunden ne Exkursion macht und mit etwas Fachwissen prahlen möchte :D oder sonst wo, wo man sowas ggf erwähnen könnte

Hi everyone! Never posted on here so let me know if you need more info. I drive a 2019 Nissan Kicks with a 1.6 L 4-cylinder engine and when I was on an even road I noticed my RPM when to 2000-3000 RPM when I pushed on the accelerator gently, and stayed at that RPM when I didn’t push it. There aren’t any lights on my dash and I don’t hear any concerning sounds. I’ve had this problem for a while but never this bad, I chalked it up to the car being known for slow acceleration. Should I be worried? Should I have it looked at?

Looking for recommendations for adding a second battery for my sound system in my truck. Space is very limited. There's no room in the engine bay for another battery and under the rear seat is all taken up by my enclosure. What would I need to get to install the second battery in the bed of the truck to protect the battery from water? I have a 4.5" gap behind my tool box in the bed and I've seen plenty of car audio batteries that have a 3" depth that would fit. Is that extra 1.5" enough room to get a waterproof battery box and the connections?

Gameplay of the new Double Eagle Noveske Ghetto Blaster Hey all! These are due for release in a month or too and I had the privilege to test one prior to release. No money was exchanged, and my opinion is my own despite being sent it.
I have to say from the original Noveske n4 Gen 2 I owned, they have come on leaps and bounds with the design. The new Noveske mags being near like for like TM clones and the magwell issues being resolved i genuinely think its a contender for someone’s starter to mid range GBBR!
