Artist playlists
In my opinion they can be cool if done right. They can be a good entry into a mind of an artist and also a fun way to discover new music, but they can suck as well.
My favourite playlists are mostly off the rails ones. Bonobo has this thing called Outlier Radio which is a long playlist featuring a huge amount of electronic music, it's a cool place to discover and listen to music similar to him.
While not a fan, Jacob Collier has one of the best artist playlist and that's his Jacob's Optimum Music Feast, it's just a chill playlist of music he likes, its simple, but beautiful because it feels like Jacob hears a song he likes and just puts it there.
Local Natives probably have my favourite artist playlist, it's a 10 song playlist that inspired their album Hummingbird and between every song they put a small commentary about the track and how it inspired them. It's like a radio and something I wish more artists/bands did.
Worst artist playlists are ones that feel half assed and like they were only made to get streams. King Krule playlist wasn't even made by Archy, his label just picked random songs by other people and put his songs.
I've also noticed that bands who are one hit wonders or irrelevant love to do this. They basically make a playlist of songs they dig or "inspire" them and they just pick bunch of big hits by other people and then shoehorn in their new songs hoping their playlist could cheat the system and get them easy streams.
Examples like MAGIC!, Scouting For Girls, American Authors are just the ones of top of my head. I also wanna count OK Go because their two recent playlists that straight up look like algorithm bait.
In my opinion the worst artist playlist goes to...Glass Animals. They've made this playlist called "sh!t we like" and it features this cool little cover for it and you think, oh cool this could be like Jacob Collier and Bonobo where they pick random songs they like and it could be like infinite amount of times long, but no. The playlist is like 29 minutes long and features 8 tracks. It's hilarious because they made this cover art for 8 song playlist. It's funny because either they never wanted to do this and just felt forced by the label or they straight up forgot, what makes it funny this playlist isn't like really hidden, it's straight up on their profile so it's impossible they forgot about it.
So yeah this is probably something only I care about and yes I do have a job and I do go outside.

Does anyone have any advice for this new course? A lot of people are failing because the questions seem designed to trick us, or are extreme edge cases, and or the answers are too subjective. It seems the questions require more than 10 minutes of researching which goes against the instructions (classic) because it would be a reject in a real task. I've seen people fail it that have been in the project for months with a 4.9 star rating, so not cool.
