Background: - Currently working as a wet lab research officer - Currently taking a part time masters in bioinformatics - My initial plan was to become a bioinformatician but over the course of 2.5 years, I’ve grown to hate Life Sciences - My company is horrible. My director promised me a promotion for almost a year but it never came. Toxic management. Too many internal politics. I feel drained and I’m always on fight or flight mode at work - I’m looking into changing my field into Product Management
I have two options: 1. Quit my job to have a clearer mind and fully focus on my dissertation which is due on June 2025, and pick up on online courses to have relevant skills for PM along the way
- Don’t quit because the job market is bad. Continue to work whilst doing my dissertation. Only look up on courses for PM after June 2025.

Good day everyone.
I am an Irish expatriate living in Ontario. Previously, I had lived in the United States for a number of years before moving back to Ireland during the pandemic, then moving to Canada to marry my (now) wife.
Ever since I arrived in Canada, prices for everything have felt wildly inflated for some very strange reasons. One such reason that always struck me as insane is the sheer volume of taxes levied on all the goods & services we use or purchase, on top of the income taxes we pay & other taxes, notably the Carbon Tax (I have not received a rebate for this tax as many seem to, so I'm interested to learn more about this from someone with any insight). The taxes in Canada are wild, & for that I feel like we're getting little in return at all. In fact, I find that I am breaking even every month, being unable to come out ahead after all is paid for for the month. Is this normal? In the States I was always making a significant amount of money that I could sock away after all was paid for (roughly $250USD per month to savings), but here, it seems like every effort I make to make more cash & build my savings is punished by exorbitant taxation (overtime is pointless here it seems).
We own our house, own both of our cars outright & we're very frugal with expenditures on outings, food, etc. I guess that I simply feel out of my element here with how punitive & generally confusing the Canadian financial system is for the average person, & especially for me as a relatively new foreigner in this country.
I'd highly value some insights from Canadians & other immigrants in Canada on this subject (taxation & how to overcome it to save some meaningful money for a change).

Its way easier for small groups to acquire small amount of rare alloys than farm all other materials. This change would benefit them the most while at the same time straining the supply of raremats so that nukes and ships are more valuable
As a sidenote increase conversion rate of spawns in medical bunkers 10 minutes to cook 4 spawns means at maximum capacity you are getting 1.6 spawns a minute per bunker which doesn't justify its cost
