2024.11.25 16:47 llzellner Conventional "Starter Pack" ie: track, transformer, track in a simple loop or something..
I have some O Gauge stuff on the way, and I want to have a way to quickly test the engine(s) while I decide and then build out the layouts (plural, yes, more later)...
I just want to get some thing:
1) Simple - small loop, with a siding or something is fine, like this:

BUT WITH
2) Transformer like the CW80

3) Stuff I can reuse later in layouts, ie: the transformer, track, etc..
4) Track - Since I Want to resuse it later.. I am not really interested in "tubular" or as I call it Original Lionel track. Its not my thing.. I likely will use either Atlas 3 Rail O Gauge be it the Industrial or 21st Century, Lionel FastTrack or something similar to these.. Nothing on this is set in stone. I honestly could/would get some Menards (Really, I had no idea! Don't have in my area, wish we did, and they were not a thing when I was in their area, they come a long later...) Tubular track set to test with so long as the transformer is usable later...
5) Control - CONVENTIONAL - While in the future I might do all that DCC etc. stuff, I am planning to do simple basic train operation. What I've got planned (imagination is dangerous! :) ) is a couple of "shelf-ceiling" loops and some 4x8 "scenes" that I will have to use in temporary setups (Got a plan on this too, again, danger thinking... :) )
YES I've seen the listings on the Lionel site. I am looking for maybe something a little more economical to test out things and getting a "bundle" price.
Any one make something like this as a "starter" pack of track and transformer etc. ? ? ?
Worst case I will purchase a few pieces of track and the CW80 I plan to use any way... but maybe there is something like I am talking about I am missing..
I will say that I am not after "SETS" or "STARTER SETS" with engine and rolling stock. Why? Well namely as it will have roadnames I don' want, so its pointless. Unless of course their are "starter sets' that are Chessie System NOT efffng CSX! (pfft screw you csx! and BS licensing bsry!) they can be Chessie C&O, B&O, WM, even Chesapeake and Ohio, Baltimore and Ohio pieces, or even WM, DTI stuff, and I'd even lower it to Norfolk & Western, but NOT NS! I do allow stuff that may have CSX numbering but is FULL Chessie/C&O/B&O/WM livery though. Definitely not any BNSF stuff, but BN in the old green and white livery is OK! Hint: I am a Chessie guy, you don't even want to know the fanaticism on that! YES MY cats were named Chessie and Peake! :) This is why "sets" with stuff I might be able reuse are not a good thing, stuff I'd have to junk ie: engine(s), rolling stock etc.. but maybe there is a deal in there I am missing..
So am I missing something for a QUICK EASY CHEAP "test" setup that has parts to reuse???

Pisao sam već kako imam ogroman strah od devojaka i socijalizacije. Nemam nijednod druga ili drugaricu, nigde ne izlazim, idem jedino na posao, zivim u manjem gradu (~50K stanovnika) u kome nema nekih mesta za upoznavanje. Probao sam da idem na neke kurseve, ali ništa.
Jedina mesta gde bih mogao da upoznam neku devojku su prodavnice, butici, apoteke,... Znam da to nisu baš idealna i preporučljiva mesta za upoznavanje, ali jedino to imam na raspolaganju. U teretanu ne smem da idem.
Zbog svega toga sam očajan, pa razmišljam da se ubijem, ali ipak želim nešto da promenim i probam pre nego što se ubijem.
Da li znate gde bih mogao da nađem nekoga ko bi mi pokazao kako se kreće razgovor sa devojkoma, pogotovo na mestima koja sam nabrojao. Meni to stvarno izgleda kao nestvarno, mislim vidiš nepoznatu devojku i da kreneš da pričaš sa njom.
Ne zezam se I NISAM TROL, samo ne mogu više ovako da živim. Molim vas pomozite.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the franchise having only played Dragon Quest IV and XI. I'm now playing the new remake of Dragon Quest III without having playing the original or any previous version of the game. This system of choosing your own class took me by surprise and I didn't gave a lot of thought while choosing. Beside the hero I'm using a warrior a wizard and a martial artist. Do you guys think I can complete the game without major complications with these classes? My characters are around lvl 15 and 20, maybe I can still change one of them and stop to up the new character. Any tips?

Had a Raspberry pi 3 A+ that I was running Octopi on but no longer needed. After couple of unsuccessful attempts at installing LIghtShowPi on the latest OS, I ran into this post: https://www.reddit.com/LightShowPi/s/rEzo1ptm2k I was able to install the image, ran into issues. Followed the instructions on the readme within the dropbox. Ran into error installing Faad and again followed steps in document. when I tried to test the lights I got the Need to setup SYNCHRONIZED_LIGHTS_HOME. I tried reinstalling LightShowPi using sudo ./install.sh, but then the install stalls out when it's installing numpy 1.21.6. Would appreciate any help. Kiddo has a Scout parade in about a week and would love to be able to use this for their float. Thanks ahead of time.
