Hey everyone, I'm Tzippy! I'm looking for around 3-5 players who would be interested in a Tremere centric chronicle Thursday nights EST (GMT - 05:00) set in a new chantry within Jacksonville Florida! It would be an opportunity to build the chantry from the ground up, establishing a new stronghold for the pyramid amongst the ruins of the old. You should be older neanoates, having been a vampire for between 50-75 years, and will all be within tremere status 1-2 (circles 3-5)
Premise: The south has long been a contested land for kindred, harboring many members of the sword and handling their tendencies hasn't been easy. Recently however the ivory tower has gained a foothold within Jacksonville as Prince Zhang has declared praxis. This comes after a year long campaign of extermination as the burgeoning prince and his underlings laid waste to the Sabbat forces within. This couldn't have happened without the help of his seneschal, Regent Cordero.
During the crusade the regent found a promising place to establish a chantry, the remnants of a small and disorganized group of "Chaos Mages" within the Leon Cheek residence. Once the area is cleared and secured for the pyramid it should serve them well, you need only take it back. This however will be no small task!

2024.11.25 16:29 beardcomesalive The Red Shoes (Blu-Ray): Disc Issue?
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to check and see if anyone else has had issues with their Blu-Ray copies of The Red Shoes? I picked mine up recently and went to watch it this past weekend, and the disc really did not work. I triple checked for any dust or scratches, and tested my Blu-Ray player with multiple discs, which worked fine. The issue I seem to be having is:
- Disc takes thrice as long to load, while creating odd noises in the player
- When it finally loads to the menu, I get an error message typically seen when a remote button is pressed that does not function with the disc being played (i.e. subtitles not being applicable for the disc)
- When I am able to get past the menu and hit play, the film scans through every chapter on its own, leaving me unable to pause/scan backward to the beginning
This sounds like a machine issue, but, as mentioned above, every other tested disc worked just fine
Any advice would help!

I have got small common warts on my left-hand index finger, thumb, and also on the knee (No visible symptoms anywhere else). My new partner and I (we are in a long-distance relationship for now) are planning to engage in intimate activities specifically oral sex/sex and hence I have concerns if I touch her virginal and other intimate areas or any part of her skin with my left hand I will transmit her warts, and may be HPV which might lead to bigger concerns like cancer.
What can I do to prevent her from getting warts or getting infected? Is it advised to not engage in sexual activity if I have them? Can she get infected even if I cover the warts around my hand? If I get warts removed soon before we meet, will that give me the certainty of not transmitting them to her? Will getting my wart removal and after that HPV vaccine prevent all the problems? If she has taken an HPV vaccine is that a good sign for us?

Spoiler just in case this is triggering for anyone. I get it. No judging.
Up until recently, I would have said I have absolutely no interest in reading or writing dubcon. Like an estimated 1 in 3 women, I've got some stuff that makes it a bit unappealing to me. BTW this is absolutely not a judgement on anyone who is into it. Entirely the opposite. It's totally normal and healthy to be into stories and fantasies and roleplay of things that we would not want to experience in an uncontrolled real way. Just that particular kink was never mine. And I'm not sure it's fair to say it is now either. But for any of you who are also into the Dragon Age fandom, you know Veilguard came out, and Lucanis the Mage-Killing Assassin was not quite the hot mess many of us had been hoping for. So I'm writing my own romance. *gives BioWare the side eye*
Now, extra spoiler tags, for those who haven't played but want to: Lucanis is possessed by a demon, and I really want them to come to terms with each other and I also want this absolutely not at all emotionally healthy Demon to be the early catalyst in pursuing my FMC. It gives me lovely layers of angst and sticky guilt and identity issues. All the terrible things I want my beloved Assassin to grapple with. So I'm looking for advice on respectful and responsible dabbling in dub-con. Probably won't escalate to full blown intercourse before everyone sort of gets their boundaries sorted out, but We got an assassin who never knew much about emotional intimacy in the first place, wounded from just being an assassin and then a year long stint in a magic torture-prison, a demon who once was probably a spirit of some kind of positive or neutral trait, all twisted up and then fused into the body of this brooding assassin, and then the FMC, who was an orphan inexplicably found in a Necropolis as a 6-month old, with no idea how she got there, and she's not a mage but she's always had a bit of a spooky ease with spirits, which has isolated her a little in her upbringing, so she's actually more sheltered than average, but pragmatic and practical.
What things should I be thinking about? What do I need to keep in mind? Any lines I need to stay very clear of? Or literally any other advice? If there is a right way to do this, I want to be sure to do it that way.

Hello! This is a 2005 Sentra with 192,000mi and this morning I woke up for work as regular and car started just fine. On my way to work, I stopped for gas. After getting gas, I get back into my car and alas it’s not even clicking once. No starter noise, not even trying to start. The battery worked fine until I kept trying to start it over and over and eventually it just drained completely. I got a jumpstart and made it to work just fine. It was like 43 degrees out so I’m not necessarily sure it’s the weather but who knows, the cars almost 20 years old. I just didn’t know if this would be a startebattery issue or something seized somewhere or something wrong with the fuel pump. Any help is appreciated thank you!

I found out just recently that the IRS hasn't received my forms from February of this year. I called the tax office that I filed with and asked them what happened. They didn't even give a response on the matter they just said they would get them sent over. Now I just called the IRS again and they're saying they still haven't received anything. I asked what could happen from here and they said I could be liable for penalties since the extension for submission cut off back in October. I just reached out to the tax office again and I am waiting to hear back. I don't know what I should do from here and how I should handle the situation with the tax office.

God kveld!
I will start a new job in Oslo in April and I'll move there sometime before that.
I have been living in Amsterdam for 4 years now, and the cinema scene here is amazing. We have Cineville, which allows us to go to a lot of independent movie theaters around the country for just ~20 euros a month.
This made possible for a lot of small realities around Amsterdam to have their own personality and show a lot of different movies, from old classics, to local film festivals dedicated to a theme or a director.
I also started volunteering at a movie theater here, and I met a lot of very interesting and lovable people.
I was wondering... what's the scene in Oslo? I couldn't find any kind of subscription so I guess there isn't one, but other than that:
- I have found some smaller art-house cinemas, like Frogner Cinema, Kunstnernes Hus and Cinemateket. Are there more worth visiting/becoming a regular to?
- I assume movies are not dubbed (with some exceptions) like in the rest of northern EU?
- Are there some local film festivals?
- As anyone moving to a new country, I am going to be desperately looking for friends. Is there maybe some volunteering I could do, like the one I am doing now (basically just printing/checking tickets for small independent theaters)?
- Is there a website that shows all the screenings in the city? I.e. the Cineville one, that doesn't take into account the big chain theaters: https://www.cineville.nl/agenda
When I first moved to Amsterdam, movie theaters became my second house and saved me from depression during COVID, I would like to continue going often once I move to Oslo :)

We got the cat when my daughter was 10. Until she was 16, he lived with the family. When her mother and I divorced, my daughter and her cat came to live with me.
When she was 18, she went to Uni and I continued to look after the cat for the 4 years she was away. When she graduated in 2000, she took a job in another country and I continued to look after the cat.
In 2021, I remarried but sadly my new wife is allergic to cats so I needed to find a new home for him. Fortunately, my sister was very happy to take him and for the past 3 and a half years, he's been showered with love and spoiled rotten by my sister, who doted on him.
Since she moved to another country 3 and a half years ago, my daughter has never contacted her aunt to ask after the cat or show any interest. When she returned for a holiday for the first time this year, I expected that she would make a trip over to see my sister and the cat since he was getting pretty old but she chose to meet her friends instead and went back home without seeing the cat.
Since the beginning of this year, his age began to show and finally last week, at the age of 16, he had to be put to sleep as his kidneys were failing. My sister had to make the painful decision and was devastated to lose her beloved pet. She asked me to tell my daughter the news, which I did.
My daughter then wrote to her aunt to say that she wanted the cat's cremains so she could make them into jewellery. My sister replied to say that she had already arranged for the ashes to be placed into a sealed commemorative box for her to have by her bedside.
My daughter was extremely unhappy to hear this, saying that he was HER cat for most of his life and that my sister and I should never have decided this without discussing with her first. I told her that I had nothing to do with the decision but that I would talk to her aunt to see if some of the remains could be kept aside for my daughter.
Unfortunately, my sister is not at all happy with that idea; she doesn't want to separate his ashes and strongly feels that she was not 'looking after' my daughter's pet, she was the cat's complete owner and has the right to decide. She's been through a lot this year and the death of her cat hit her really badly.
She feels that since my daughter showed no interest in the cat over the last few years and contributed nothing to his many vet's bills or for his food, and not even once enquired after him, that she has no right to ask for 'bits' of him now.
My daughter thinks her aunt and I are both assholes and my sister thinks my daughter is being unreasonably selfish; she's so lost in her own pain that she's not really considering my daughter's. I'm stuck in the middle, seeing merit in both sides of the issue but neither willing to concede. Obviously, despite the title of the post, I'm not the one making decisions here but what do you think, Reddit, is there an asshole here?
