2024.11.25 16:30 cornettowaltz Birthday Struggles

Ok so tomorrow is my birthday (22yrs), and i have always struggled with birthdays my entire life. They have never been great and every year i end up crying and having a meltdown.
I think it comes down to the idea that i don't enjoy 'normal' birthday things like parties, so i always end up alone or with my parents for the day. Apart from presents, it never really feels 'special'. It feels like expectations never match reality and it always ends up upsetting me.
Tomorrow all i am doing is going out for lunch with my parents. That is it.
How do you guys celebrate? Does anyone else feel the same about birthdays? Any ideas what I can do to make it feel nicer?

2024.11.25 16:30 mmanthony00 How I Overcame Writer’s Block Using ChatGPT

As a copywriter, meeting deadlines with fresh, engaging content is part of the job. But a few weeks ago, I hit a wall. I had to write a compelling ad campaign for a client, and no matter how hard I tried, my ideas felt uninspired. The clock was ticking, and I was stuck. That’s when I decided to turn to ChatGPT for help. Here’s how I used AI to overcome my writer’s block step by step:
Step 1: Acknowledge the Block First, I admitted I was stuck. I’d been staring at my screen for hours, overthinking every idea. Instead of forcing it, I decided to approach the problem differently.
What I Did: I opened ChatGPT and wrote: "I need to create an ad campaign for a sustainable clothing brand. The tone should be modern and inspiring. Can you give me some taglines or concepts to get started?"
What ChatGPT Delivered:

Seeing these ideas helped me break out of my mental loop and gave me a fresh perspective.
Step 2: Break the Problem into Smaller Tasks Writer’s block often feels overwhelming because we try to tackle the whole problem at once. Instead, I divided my project into smaller, manageable parts.
What I Did: I asked ChatGPT specific questions:
  1. "What are three emotional benefits of choosing sustainable fashion?"
  2. "What kind of visuals would pair well with a tagline about eco-friendly fashion?"
What ChatGPT Delivered:
  1. Emotional Benefits:
    • Feeling good about reducing waste.
    • Empowering yourself to make ethical choices.
    • Being part of a community that values sustainability.
  2. Visual Suggestions:
    • Close-ups of natural fabrics like organic cotton.
    • A young professional confidently wearing eco-friendly outfits.
    • Before-and-after shots showing the positive impact of choosing sustainable fashion.
These responses provided structure and clarity, helping me brainstorm with purpose.
Step 3: Use AI as a Collaborative Partner Instead of expecting ChatGPT to do all the work, I treated it like a brainstorming buddy. I refined the AI’s suggestions to align with the brand’s voice and values.
What I Did: I typed: "Can you refine this tagline: 'Wear the Change: Sustainable Style for a Better Tomorrow'? Make it shorter and snappier."
What ChatGPT Delivered:
I combined these ideas with my own input, landing on the final tagline: "Style with Purpose."
Step 4: Iterate and Polish Once the initial ideas flowed, I used ChatGPT for quick iterations and feedback.
What I Did: I shared drafts of the ad copy and asked for improvements: "Here’s my draft: 'Our clothing isn’t just sustainable—it’s a statement. Join the movement for ethical fashion today.' Can you make it more engaging?"
What ChatGPT Delivered: "Make every outfit a choice that matters. Discover clothing that’s as kind to the planet as it is to your style."
This gave my copy the polish it needed to resonate with the target audience.
Step 5: Reflect and Apply the Lessons After finishing the project, I realized ChatGPT didn’t just help me overcome writer’s block—it taught me to approach creative challenges differently.
Key Takeaways:
With tools like ChatGPT, you can find inspiration, structure your ideas, and get back on track faster than ever.
Have you used AI to overcome writer’s block? What strategies worked for you? Let’s chat in the comments!

2024.11.25 16:30 Elln_The_Witch How solo-roleplaying helped with my mental health

Hello, I would like to share how playing solo has helped with my mental health, I made this for the solo community but I think this may help someone with the same problems as me then I'm sharing here too. If this isn't allowed please let me know so I'll delete it.
I have severe social anxiety and concentration problems, and because of that, I find it very difficult to talk to people and have long conversations. But I’ve always loved RPGs and wanted to play tabletop RPG games. However, due to my anxiety, I couldn’t find the strength to try playing. Then I discovered solo roleplaying, and through it, I found an amazing community. Interacting with this wonderful community has also helped me with my social anxiety and playing solo helped me with many other mental problems.
I just wanted to thank you all for being incredible, welcoming, and accepting of everyone in this place. Thank you, roleplayers!!!
I made a post about it on my blog to reach more people, and hopefully, this will help someone. You can find it here: https://theellnsanctum.wordpress.com/2024/11/25/how-role-playing-solo-helped-my-mental-health/

2024.11.25 16:30 Le-F- Which woodwind should I learn?

I was thinking a renting and learning another woodwind but I can’t decide which one These are my choices: (these are all rent to own):
Bass Clarinet for 149 a month (this and tenor sax would probably be the easiest coming from clarinet but I kind of want a challenge)
Tenor Sax for 119 a month (I just don’t want to learn alto sax)
Oboe for 143 a month
Bassoon for 220 a month
Closed hole flute for 45 a month or Open hole flute for 55 a month
Any ideas on which one I should pick?

2024.11.25 16:30 pitorf Regulator choices : Tecline R4 Vs R5 Vs ???

Hi,
I am in the market for my first set of regulators. My budget is quite tight, but the Tecline R4 and R5 seem to be at a reasonable price point for me. However, I’m not sure which one to pick. Both of them seem to work great in cold water, but the R5 seems to be marketed as being even better for cold water. I don’t really see how this is the case technically, and I don’t know if choosing the R5 over the R4 is better in terms of durability or performance.
I’m a French diver who regularly dives in cold water (5°C / 40°F) and up to 60 m (200 ft). I’m considering learning to go deeper in the future. I do 45+ dives per year. So far, I’ve tried the Tecline R4, some Apeks XTX series, the latest Aqualung Helix Pro, and the Scubapro MK11 and MK17. I’ve been pleased with all of them, but I think the Apeks, Aqualung, and Tecline models stood out as the best.
If you have any advice on other regulators to look into, feel free to share! (Keep in mind that some brands are not readily available in France.)

2024.11.25 16:30 jaBroniest Struggle to defend

I've watched countless tutorials, tried every setting combination and I cannot defend. My players react slowly, I press be to challenge a player directly in front/to the side of me and absolutely nothing happens. They just jog on pass me I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I have a full Chem team, I've played countless formations, used other people's formations and tactics and nothing works. I get beat 90 percent of games. Anything that I might be missing that's making my defence woefully shit. Thanks guys :)

2024.11.25 16:30 swarmofseals What types of builds tend to be good starters?

Old school PoE player here (played around 2014-2016 give or take). I haven't followed the game much since I stopped, but I'm getting stoked for PoE2. Haven't had time to deep dive into all the available info, but I do have some grasp of basic differences.
Back when I played it was common to start a league with a cheap build that could do a big chunk of the endgame ideally with MF to then farm up gear and currency to then switch over to a true endgame build.
In my day, summoner builds, SRS, RF, and totem (often RF totem) builds were really common, strong starters because their scaling worked in such a way as to have low/simple gearing requirements and a lot of room to stack IIIIQ.
As far as I know, the fundamental league starter into endgame build dynamic still exists.
I'm curious: over the years since I quit, what have been the most enduring and common starter builds?
Given what is known about PoE 2, is there reason to suspect that certain types of builds will be particularly good starter candidates? Or do we have information suggesting that some classic starter builds from PoE1 may not hold up in PoE2?
I'm fully expecting to have to experiment, but I'm hoping some knowledge from more recent experience might give us some educated guesses about directions to try first.
