I feel so shitty and like there is this knife in my chest that just keeps turning with every hour of the day. I wake up hours before my alarm daily, barely eat, find no joy in the day to day, and am not myself. I feel like I lost the only person in this world that truly knew and accepted me for me. I lost my best friend and the woman I thought was going to be with me for life.
Out of the blue, my GF broke up with me last week. she said that she had some doubts about our relationship that were not going away no matter what she tried and that she couldnt let these feelings go without feeling resentment now if she didnt truly address the way she was feeling. She said the "spark" was gone and she didnt feel like she was giving her all to this relationship anymore. When probed, it seems like it started about a year ago when we started long distance, but she never even brought up the way she was feeling... ever. We are long distance for 1 more year before being able to be together.
She said she needs time to work on herself, to explore who she is as an individual, and to think through her feelings for 1-2 months; and that she may want to get together then if she feels differently.
I told her I don't really understand how taking a break fixes any of the issues she is feeling and in fact would only reinforce those feelings if were apart. I asked her to reconsider and allow us to work on the parts of our relationship that she thought were contributing, like adults in a healthy relationship. But she told me that it has nothing to do with what im doing and it is just how she is feeling. It is nothing i can do to help.
I am just at a loss about how you can go from a committed relationship of 4.5 years, talking about engagements, marriage, kids, and a whole future one day to cutting it off without even trying to work things out.
I am also so confused on what even lead us here and what to do in 2 months when she comes back to talk. If she wants to get back together, part of me would drop everything and run to her. The other part of me, however, feels like the trust in our relationship is gone and that if she wasnt willing to work on us now, why would she want to work on us in the future when future struggles, inevitably, arise. Part of me feels like i would have no self respect if i just ran back.
This is a lose lose situation and im miserable.

2024.11.25 19:40 CyberKitten05 What's with all the Alcohol in the show?
I enjoy Social Drinking here and there but Alcohol seems to be one of the only things the Orville crew talks about when they're not talking about work, I'm pretty sure they drink in the vast majority of the episodes if not all of them, and it all seems to be completely normal and fine and consequenceless. I assume that in the show's time period there's probably very easy treatment for getting drunk and hangovers, but it still feels weird considering how humorously taboo Cigarettes have become. Is it just a Seth McFarlane moment?

2024.11.25 19:40 psudochasm Wanting to get into PoE 2 - Worried about Leagues
I am not really an ARPG player, I have played them before and am familiar with the genre but I have been itching for a big loot-focused game with lots of character progression for a long time and I am not one to jump into a game that has already been going on for years (Warframe, PoE, Destiny 2, etc). I know you can jump into all of these games but, I just don't like the idea of jumping into something that has already been going for so long - I like jumping in fresh.
PoE 2 seems like the perfect thing for this - just FYI, I played PoE for like 20 hours across a few characters which amounted to nothing more than the starting area or two.
My biggest worry is Leagues. This is solely because I do not find the idea of resetting every few months to be appealing. I want, I LOVE, long-term progression and dedication to a character. I understand that the game will have a standard, or permanent, league but have been made aware that most players play in the seasonal leagues. That there is typically some newer content there, or some type of seasonal content? Really, I want to know if you can enrich a permanent character via playing the seasonal league?
Are there limited things, or new gear or some such, that can be played/farmed for in the seasonal league that can then be used on your "main" when the season ends and they get transferred? I assume that you can transfer gear between characters, at least characters in the same league?
Am I just looking at the game wrong and PoE is fundamentally not about having a permanent character? Will my playing experience be fundamentally different if I only play the standard league?
