The last post I did was the WORST PCOS advice you've heard so I decided to switch it up into something more positive! Let's share the best advice you've gotten for your PCOS. I'll go first:
The best PCOS advice I've got was from my health coach. She was the one to explain to me the relation of insulin resistance and PCOS. I didn't know I was insulin resistant and by learning to manage my blood sugar I was able to manage my PCOS.
No doctor explained to me that most women with PCOS have insulin resistance, and that causes your body to overproduce insulin which then stimulates your ovaries to produce androgen hormones which then leads to the symptoms such as excessive hair growth, acne, irregular periods etc.
Plussss the insulin resistance doesn't allow your cells to obtain their glucose to perform their jobs hence the major fatigue symptoms.
The best advice for me was to manage my blood sugar and to personalize my care plan. What works for me might not work for you and that's okay! Each of our symptoms are different, hence our care should be different too.

Bonjour, je viens vers vous après n'avoir trouvé aucune réponse claire auparavant : peut-on bénéficier du statut étudiant auprès de la CAF en étant contrat doctoral ? Existe t'il des articles de loi disant que les doctorants n'ont pas le statut d'étudiant auprès de la CAF ?
- Je suis doctorant depuis le 1er Octobre. Le doctorat me confère un statut étudiant (que je peux prouver à l'aide d'un certificat de scolarité, d'une carte étudiante à jour et d'une quittance universitaire pour l'année en cours), et un statut salarié (j'ai un contrat doctoral de 3 ans).
- Lors de la déclaration d'un changement de situation sur la CAF, il est proposé dans la liste des situations "Etudiant avec ou sans activité - Boursier ou non boursier", ce qui semble correspondre à ma situation, puisque je suis étudiant et que j'ai une activité (je peux attester des deux ?).
- J'ai moins de 28 ans, et selon cette page de la CAF :
le montant des revenus n'a pas d'incidence dans le calcul des aides au logement tant que vous êtes étudiant et âgé de moins de 28 ans (...)- Ma CAF est la CAF Haute-Garonne (31).
Pourquoi cette question ? J'ai envoyé un message à ma CAF en mentionnant que j'étais en contrat doctoral, ils m'ont immédiatement mis en statut "salarié" uniquement. Après plusieurs échanges (au téléphone et par mails), et leur avoir envoyé mon contrat de travail et mon certificat de scolarité, ils semblent dire que "la CAF ne considère pas les doctorants comme des étudiants". De plus, après avoir parlé de cette situation à mon université (j'ai entendu dire qu'ils pouvaient jouer en ma faveur), celle-ci m'a répondu qu'une décision interne à la CAF (récente) demandait de ne plus considérer les doctorants comme des étudiants.
Sauf que voilà... Tous les collègues (dans la même situation que moi, mais qui n'ont pas fait la malheureuse erreur d'envoyer un message à la CAF comme moi) sont considérés comme étudiants, et pour cause, lors de la déclaration de situation auprès de la CAF, il n'est dit nulle-part que les doctorants sont un cas à part des étudiants en contrat classiques. D'ailleurs j'ai beau chercher de partout, je ne trouve aucune contre-indication....
