My cousin is pregnant, due in a month, she worked full time at her job (service industry) for almost the entire pregnancy, but at the advice of her supervisors she cut back to part time the past 3 weeks. She had been promised a month of unpaid maternity leave, and she could have her job back, and now they’ve changed their mind. Is there anything she can do? I feel like requiring a mother to come back to work seven days after giving birth to an entire human is just cruel.

What options have you been given by your doctors? Mines currently quite high probably 30% been stuck in bigeminy and trigeminy all day now non stop :( I'm having a echocardiogram and stress test performed at some point and he has suggested if they show no structural problems to go on a low dose of flecainide as and when needed, doesn't seem to think an ablation is the way to go currently, as he thinks it won't work well. I'm very cautious of flecainide tho and would rather avoid it, but my burden is so high it's mentally and physically starting to drain me.

I first heard of Ed Bell and this song from Gerhard Kubik’s “Africa and the Blues” book and CD. Now it’s one of my favorite classic blues songs and I’m working hard at learning how to play it. My favorite part is the hypnotic riff (which I think I have pretty down pat) and the descending bass part (which I’m gonna learn next). This is the first song I’ve learned a good chunk of just by listening to it.

Working on sketches of Hoshi-kun for Kikuo's upcoming concerts in Germany!
I'm sketching chibis for both locations and want to give away some Hoshi-kun stickers!
The first idea is Hoshi with Kikuo's light stick—maybe wearing a bucket hat too? Opinions?
Another sketch has him in Lederhosen! I’m unsure about turning that into a sticker, though. Lederhosen are a cultural stereotype for Germany, but they’re really traditional clothing specific to Bavaria (and Austria), so I’m not sure if it would appeal to everyone. But I think he looks absolutely adorable in it!
Another idea is just him holding the Germany flag lol and maybe a meme sticker

2024.11.25 19:30 Accurate-Push8125 Might fail midterm tmr/C in physics 1

Have been depressed + procrastinating all semester because I haven't addressed my issues from senioritis hitting super hard before I got to college. I have an A in calc 1, somehow managed to get an 82 on my second chem 1 midterm with only a day of studying so that'll probably be a B final grade but definitely looking at either a C or a fail in physics 1 because my second midterm is tmrw and I'm probably gonna do horribly + I have missing labs/hw + mediocre quiz grades and barely passed the first midterm since I didn't study (this time I've been trying to lock in since Saturday--shld have started earlier--and am still not getting practice Qs right, ima call it a night soon).
Basically have been leaving studying to the night before for every exam. I went to a super tough HS (magnet in NYC) and got average grades there by studying only night before and always chalked up that procrastination to just being a result of the rigor of my HS (people who graduate consistently say their workload in our HS was genuinely more/worse than they've experienced at certain Ivies & universities in general), like I just didn't have time to space out studying because I always had some random tough assignment to do and I somehow scraped by and got into my dream college. Then second sem + senioritis after being enrolled in college hit so my study habits dropped from bad to nonexistent and I've been struggling so much here to just lock in.
I'm very grateful to be in Europe for my first sem but it definitely makes it much easier to get unfocused/ignore studying responsibilities in lieu of having fun. My mom has been super supportive and we've talked about getting me help/some sort of evaluation to see if I have some sort of executive functioning issue in which case meds or a therapist would help but I'm pretty sure I'm just depressed and lazy. I do think I'll be better off next sem when I don't start early and end at 6pm everyday not to mention I won't be in beautiful and distracting Europe. I want to get into a routine of studying ~2 hrs everyday and enjoying a free night afterwards + less anxiety when exams roll around.
Have you guys failed a class in your freshman year first semester or specifically struggled with physics 1? I feel so dumb for not trying at all in physics and now I'm just in a mindset of getting through this sem with the C and trying to get my shit together for next sem. I actually loved physics in HS (took honors) and since I'm enjoying chem and calc here I feel like I should just keep going with engineering and try to address my issues between these semesters, do you guys think I'll be ok/can u please share any advice or similar experiences? Thank you!!

Unteranderem auch sein "Gipfelfoto" wo er gefühlt ewig drauf rumgeritten ist, und die Zuschauer (in Richtung Reddit-User) gefragt hat, wer den die Berge benennen kann. Natürlich im nur Abonnenten-Modus, damit Antworten schwer fällt ohne Geld zu zahlen. Ich war heute mal in Google Earth "klettern".

Naja, was soll man sagen, die Perspektive von seinem Foto ist wohl eher aus einer Höhe von 2,84 km entstanden. In der Westflanke östlich vom Rotstock und rund 1100 Höhenmeter unterhalb des Gipfels (3,97km). Als Orientierungshilfe für die Perspektive habe ich links vom Lauberhorn den markanten Wald genutzt, wo man schön in der Freifläche noch mal eine kleine Baumgruppe erkennt.
Niemand spricht ihm ab, dass er Klettern kann, aber was sollen diese Übertreibungen? Warum muss denn aus der Westflanke plötzlich der Gipfel (3967m) werden? Damit hätte man vielleicht noch 2006 Leute hinters Licht führen können, aber doch nicht 2024.
Tut mir leid, dass ich das Thema noch mal aufgemacht habe, aber die Provokation von gestern war mir ein wenig zu viel.
