2024.11.25 20:50 Stuiee2811 England - I believe my younger brother has been verbally abused and physically assaulted by a teacher
Good evening
I’m looking for some advice as to how best to proceed regarding a situation that occurred at my younger brothers school today.
My brother is a year 7 student, 11 years of age and has diagnosed Autism Spectrum Disorder.
To cut a long story short, the school have stated my brother was disruptive in a lesson and was asked to leave and go to “isolation”, to which my brother refused. His account is that he was walking around the classroom in order to calm down after being distressed by a situation beforehand. This happens in other lessons/classes with other teachers and they allow this as they understand this to be his coping mechanism and they know he will be sat down and calm again within minutes. On this occasion, a “behavioural officer” came into the class, took my brothers belongings and asked him to go with him, he was told no. That teacher left, another teacher, dubbed on the school website as a “student support worker” came in and said words to the effect of “you can either make this easy and come with me, or do it the hard way and I carry you like a bag of shopping”. Again, my brother refused. It’s worth noting at this point that my brother has what they call a “SEND pass” which allows him to leave a class when he is distressed and use a quiet room to work/calm himself. A number of teachers are aware of this and have offered him this before, instead of isolation for the “naughty kids”. To continue, my brother refused this teachers offer to come easy, to which he was physically restrained and carried out of the class. After this, my brothers account is that he was “thrown” to the floor by the teacher. Now, when my mum asked him to explain that he said “he felt himself falling to the floor and landed on his knees, and it felt like the teacher had purposely made this happen”. Now, as part of my brothers ASD, he isn’t able to lie, everything is factual because that’s the way his brain works, he can’t conjure up a story because his mind only portrays the factual side of an event. He struggles in various aspects with this part of his ASD. Further to this, the teacher has called my brother, quote, a “fucking creature” and has also told him “don’t come that autism shit with me, it doesn’t wash”.
An account from my brothers best friend is that this teacher is always swearing around students, whilst monitoring a detention and when speaking. My brother has also told us that he was swearing in the pastoral care room in the presence of other teachers and nobody intervened. This was whilst my brother was physically emotional and crying whilst apologising to the teacher because he was really sorry for his actions. Again, once a situation has been de-escalated, my brother will often gather his emotions, and then become emotional about his own actions.
The final point, my mum received a generic copy-and-paste email this morning to say that my brother would be late out of school as he will be attending a 30 minute after school detention but had no communication regarding any other events during this incident.
Where do we stand with this and apart from demanding a meeting with the senior leadership, safeguarding and SENDco at the school, what would be the advisable next best steps?
I’m sorry for the long post, we would just like some clarification on this.

Hi all! So I wanted to come on here and share a rough plan that I want to execute to see what you all think. So, my plan is to buy a Boston whaler (hull only) in the mid teen range size. 17ish preferably. With this, I will buy a tiller motor and hopefully a trolling motor (if I have the funds). With that I will probably make it like a skiff with a grab bar and maybe a polling platform. What do you guys think of this plan? Any thoughts, suggestions, or advice is welcome!

2024.11.25 20:50 P3rturb4t0r So, what's the general consensus about OneDnD?
I tried checking more about 2024's edition but WotC stopped releasing content on my home country's language and that was enough of a turn-off for me to not even look for an online PDF of the new edition, let alone buy it to playtest. However, it's been a while since I've been playing 2014's 5e and to be honest it's getting kind of stale to me, meanwhile some things I read about OneDnD look pretty interesting and some sound like a chore to play. What do you guys think? Should I give 2024 a go or should I just look for a new system altogether?

Da war ich, in der Hand meines Besitzers, bereit für meinen kurzen Einsatz. Ich dachte mir nichts dabei, als er mich zum Fenster führte. ‚Ah, frische Luft,‘ dachte ich. Das ist doch eigentlich besser, oder? Niemand wird direkt belästigt, keine Rauchmelder werden ausgelöst. Ich tat, wofür ich gemacht bin, erzeugte diesen sanften, aromatischen Dampf, während mein Besitzer seinen Moment der Entspannung genoss.
Doch dann sah ich ihn. Den Sicherheitsdienst. Diese Augen – scharf, wachsam, unerbittlich. Er hatte uns gesehen. Mein Besitzer versuchte cool zu bleiben, aber ich konnte seinen Puls fühlen, wie er in seinen Fingern pochte. Es war vorbei. Wir waren ertappt.
Jetzt liege ich hier, vergessen in einer Tasche, während mein Besitzer sich mit seinem schlechten Gewissen herumplagt. Der Sicherheitsmann steht vielleicht vor einem moralischen Dilemma – melden oder nicht melden? Ich frage mich nur: War ich das wirklich wert? Ein bisschen Dampf, ein kleiner Moment der Schwäche. Jetzt stehe ich im Mittelpunkt einer potenziellen Katastrophe für alle Beteiligten. Vielleicht hätte ich nie aus meiner Packung genommen werden sollen.

I spent a long time making my resume good. I had multiple people look at it, and it was in ATS format. I sent that bad boy out, thinking I had a shot. Nope, it took 9 days of silence and one short email to know my fate. AI has made life so much more of a grind than I thought it would. The world seems to move forward effortlessly while I remain rooted in place, lost in the shadows of my ambitions and dreams.

The "Dietitian I" position is used as an example to illustrate the value of the dollar and reduction in buying power, but the percentage of wages is applicable to all HSAA staff. This doesn't take into account that if HSAA staff had appropriate wage increases in the past 7 years that they would have been able to invest that income (earn interest). Not only has there been a significant reduction in buying power, there is a loss in potential wealth, as people spend a greater percentage of their income on needs and have less potential to contribute to their investments. Even if HSAA got a 14-16% increase now, that wouldn't make up for those lost opportunities. Feel free to share to help justify why HSAA deserves better! Other directions: Add the broccoli to 9x13 pan, cut up the chicken and add, then break up the buratta cheese over the chicken broccoli. Bake. Once done baking drizzle some balsamic glaze. So.. how long should this cook for and at what temp? I play mobile only, and this is a struggle for me on both Wi-Fi (anywhere, not just at home) and while on 4g/5g. If my connection falters for a split second, I will be frozen for anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds, most of the time it results in me getting kicked to the login screen. If I try to establish a stronger connection by switching from Wi-Fi to data or vice versa, there's 99% chance I'm just straight up disconnected and kicked to login, but once in a while it unfreezes the game instantly.
If it matters, I'm on an S23 Ultra, app is up to date with background data usage enabled, and unrestricted battery mode enabled for the app,
