Considering that happiness is the human ultimate goal as like Aristotle says, what’s happiness for catholicism?
I understand that the common answer would be a life in accordance with God and that there’s no perfect happiness here on our world.
However, my doubt is about the hardiness that it takes to be aligned with God. The cross seems to be a necessary condition for saintity and perfection. At the same time, it seems pretty unintuitive that the happy life is a painful and demanding one. A life that‘s not “spontaneous”. If that’s the case, what criteria a catholic use to know if he’s happy or not? It doesn’t seem to be a emotional one.

2024.11.25 20:50 Every_Iron_46 Getting pre IPO shares into ISA
So I have some pre-IPO shares in a private company that’s due to float. The shares are obviously not in an ISA or tax shielded. Is the best move here to sell the shares immediately on flotation and simultaneously buy the same value in my ISA in order to protect and further gains from tax liability? I’m wondering if there’s any downside I’m missing by not holding the original shares from the lower price. Thanks!

Hey guys, I was discarded late June this year by my 23F exwBPD. I've spoken about her before so feel free to go check it out.
I've recently been seeing this girl, she is nice and I enjoy her company and was just wondering if anyone has experienced struggling to deal with a "normal" relationship after their one with their exwBPD. I guess I'm just really struggling with the fact that it's not so emotionally taxing and intense straight off the bat and I feel like I'm sort of just waiting for it to go off the rails at some point.

2024.11.25 20:50 take-me-to-texas Help I’m back to newborn sleep
My guy is 8 months old and has never been a phenomenal sleeper but now it’s sooooo bad. He used to wake 1-2 times a night which was great. I would feed him back to sleep which I liked doing because I didn’t have to get up and pump. But something has happened and we’ve totally gone backwards. We’ve also been in Hawaii for 4 nights now. I knew he’d have some issues with the 3 hr time change but I didn’t know it would be this bad. He also cut two teeth about two days before we left. I’ve been giving him a dose of Camilla drops before bed but that’s it, no Tylenol yet. When he wakes at night he goes back down pretty easily, I just nurse him for about 10 min.
We’re at an Airbnb so our room isn’t as dark as I’d like and I can’t really Cosleep him with this bed. I’ve never wanted to cosleep but I’m so tired I’m getting desperate. But this bed is really high and my husband and I are in it. The headboard looks like a sketchy death trap but it is a king bed.
Babe has been napping about twice a day. His first nap of the day is the longest and it goes about 1.5-1.75 hours. Bedtime is around 7:45/8. If he doesn’t get two long naps then I try and squeeze a catnap in before bed so he’s not overtired. I try to get a 4 hr wake window before bed but maybe that’s too long and he’s overtired?? Last night he woke with in 45 min of going down and I even put him down not completely to sleep after nursing him.
I would love any an all advice and maybe even some schedule/wake window recommendations.

I'm thinking of transferring out of SFU as i've had a horrible experience here. SFU fails to offer enough seats to CS major for req courses and i've not had a good experience with professors either. It's been 2 semesters now and I can't progess. I'm required to maintain my full time student status as an international student, and do not wish to throw around money at garbage electives just for this
