Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help with some advice here on medical codes. I recently went to an in-network clinic with an in-network PA seeing me for a very minor gynecology visit. I was a return patient but this was an outpatient visit. Not sure if the detalls matter for my visit but l'll provide it since I want to be as transparent as possible. I was sure I had thrush so l made an appointment for the PA to examine me for it, send swab to lab and prescribe fluconazole. She did just that, spent around 15mins with me in the room and prescribed fluconazole immediately because my symptoms matched thrush exactly. When I got my results it turned out it wasn't thrush but vaginosis and was prescribed antibiotics. All good, symptoms went away - healthy. Few weeks later I get a bill that's $910 in total with insurance only paying $308 so $600 left for me to pay. I understand all about not having met my deductible yet so of course I have to pay the remainder but this amount billed seems crazy from the provider. Very shocked as this was such a simple visit with such routine examination at an in-network clinic with an in-network physician.
I know it's not great revealing this but l'm desperate... I was billed: - $404 on Clinic Visit - HC Evaluation and Management Return Patient Level 3 - 99213 (CPT®) - $197.00 on Professional Services - PR Office/ Outpatient Established St Mdm - 99212 (CPT®) - 3 different codes for the 3 different lab tests they did for candidates and vaginalis but l'm not disputing this because I understand these were needed. (Altogether $309) I'd like your opinion on whether CPT® code 99213 and CPT® code 99212 be used together in a bill in this scenario. Wouldn't I just fall into one or the other and more so into 99212? And how is it possible that something so minor can be so expensive I just really don't understand.

TL;DR : how are you doctors/physicians using ChatGPT? Whats are use cases? Any unusual use cases? Any tips?
Background: I'm a doctor, and I believe ChatGPT is nothing short of a miracle. I recently spoke to a physician colleague (65 years old), and she doesn't really get it. She's extremely skeptical. I personally belive that ChatGPT isn't perfect yet, but it can already be used by doctors in so many ways. - Help "consult" for diagnosis, and treatment plan, just to make sure I'm not missing anything. - Help phrase things well for communicating with patients in difficult situations. Surprisingly, it is more empathetic than I am. - Help speed up bureaucracy and paperwork.
As a doctor, ChatGPT helps me diagnose and treat better, be nicer to patients, and save loads of time. I think from a time perspective it saves me 10 hours a week (which is huge, since a doctor's hour is worth a lot). This time save alone is worth about 24K a year (since I can now see more patients). And it reduces that chance of being sued (I'm more professional and patients are more satisfied). I get more referrals.
I spoke with several doctors besides my skeptical collegue. They are curious but have no idea where to start, how to start, etc. I think ChatGPT intimidates them.
I'm wondering if there are other doctors herewho are in love with ChatGPT as I am. If so, how are you using ChatGPT? Whats are your use cases? Any unusual use cases? Any tips?

Hi All,
I've been training all year for an Ultraman. It's a 3 day triathlon with the swim/bike portions Friday and Saturday, followed by a 52.4 mile run on Sunday. The reason I'm here, is I need some help on the Sunday part. Because I'm just doing this by myself and there is no official race, I can structure Sunday however I'd like, so here's the basics:

This last Sunday my muscles weren't tired. I was right on pace and schedule, which I'm proud of because I had a 6k swim and 154 miles of bike in my legs the previous 2 days. I was cold as hell, it was dark and I couldn't shake the feeling of doing it this early on so little sleep was a horrible idea as I pretty much started falling asleep while running, this is stupid, there's got to be a better way. Having slept on it, I'm still not quite sure what the best solution is. Do I run CIM, then run by myself for another 26 miles afterwards? Kind of anti-climactic. Do I get a pacer insane enough to get me through the morning and to the start line of CIM even if that means horrible sleep after 2 ridiculously hard days prior? Do I just wake up as my body wants, do whatever miles I can, then run CIM and finish the mileage leftover afterwards? I'm not sure, maybe you guys have some ideas. I'm more than willing to buy an inflatable finish line for my driveway, but it doesn't feel the same.
Any advice welcome, let me know if I'm missing something here.

My insurance company is switching next year from employer provided plans to an "allowance" type, pick-your-own kind of system. There are 65 plans to choose from. My infusions(Simponi Aria) are 100% covered under my current plan. All I owe is my specialist copay. It is a buy and bill under medical. I cannot find anything comparable because no matter who I contact for help, NOONE can tell me what plan or even what type of plan will cover this service. This is a $10,000 service that I have done every 60 days that I cannot afford to gamble on. Most plans I've looked at and considered have "limitations" including administration of speciality drug meaning it will NOT be covered under my specialist copay. Someone please help me..

It has gained a lot of controversy in Mexico in part because it was not made by a mexican and the mexican crew is limited, but the real problem is that it is filled with racist stereotypes, laughable spanish, poor research on the country's culture, and the movie trivializes drug trafficking. It mocks people that have lost their families due to drug trafficking and it is able to forgive a drug lord just because he became an empowered women. People in Mexico are calling this an irresponsible portrait of another culture that a french guy dared to contemplate from a self-indulgent perspective.
