I posted about a week ago about how my best friend kissed me, and in the past few days she's done it more and more... Neither of us has said anything about it but we'll just be lying on a bed or smth or be talking and makena joke about kissing and one of us will say something stupid- usually "I wouldn't say no"- and we'll just kiss and go back to the conversation as normal. I have been working in IT for about 3 years, I did help desk and then moved into a programming role. I left the programming role as did others on the team because the companies expectations were unrealistic. 80 hweek, impossible deadlines, we all know a few of these companies.
I'm seeing more jobs being posted this month than I was seeing before, and I am hoping things are turning around for IT careers. I live in a major city and there is another one about an hour from here. So there are companies around. I get some calls back, one guy working HR at a company I applied to told me they aren't even sure if the company is trying to hire. Apparently they turned down everyone who went in. I had one interview canceled on me they said they weren't looking anymore. I also know two executives at two separate companies that said they fought hard with the CEO to get a few people hired after interviewing them and ultimately had to deny them for budget cuts. Despite all of this someone must be hiring.
Is there anything I can do now that will really help my resume outside of being employed? Are there any key words that I can put in my resume that will grab the attention of more employers? My resume is professional and I have received job offers with the same structure. If there is something that will get me to stand out please let me know. I will take a course if I have to, I don't really care if I have to learn. I like Information Technology, and I need to start getting real calls.

hi guys. always have been interested in working in finance related roles (dad was a quant, worked at bridgewater, etc.) but have spent the last 10 years or so working in stem and not sure how to get started.
super brief my path: chem/biochem undergrad > 4 years in mol bio academia as a tech > past 3 years in a biosciences phd program, passed my qualifying exam in may so technically have a masters of science.
kinda fed up with actual hard science work atm and analyzing biotech/pharma companies seems like an appealing career. i trade on the side and have made some modest gains (nothing crazy, just beating the SP500 by 10% or so mostly by riding tech waves). i'm very good at math (800 math SAT, breezed through quantum mechanics and calc-based econ) but am admittedly rusty, haven't used anything more than basic algebra for the past 7 years...confident i could pick it back up if i needed to though.
so what's the play? reach out to people on linkedin and try to network myself into a position? go get an mba? get some kind of financial math masters? ideally i'd like to waste as little time as possible but the only way might be to go back to school for a different degree. your advice may just be "get an mba from HYPSM and network while you're there".
just want to inform myself about what attempting to get into this field might actually entail in reality. if it's impossible i might not even bother but i would like to make an educated decision rather than a vibes based one. thanks in advance.
