I want to preface this by saying.. I do not have children, so this is truly for understanding. Is it normal to always have your children on the countertop? It seems as though Ashley’s kids are always sitting, standing or playing on the counters, I would think this is dangerous and unsanitary. Please enlighten me!!

I'm moving alone for college soon. I was planning on getting a 50 gallon tank (not for fish, but I'm asking here because there's people experienced with glass tanks)
But I'm concerned about the fact that this is a very large tank and I can't have anything much smaller. So here are the questions:
How do you buy a tank this size? I had a 6 gallon tank in the past (this one with fish) and it was obviously super easy to carry, but I'm not sure how the procedure is when you buy a large tank and set it up. I figure I will be limited with how much help I can get to carry the tank into the apartment.
On the other hand, I might keep the tank for several years and I want to plan ahead in case I need to move with it again. I probably need to think what I will do with it in case I no longer want to use it, it might be sold, but if I want it stored away I will probably need a place to put it. So for the ones with tanks that no longer keep fish, what do you do with the tank?
It's crazy how I'm more concerned about the long term commitment of owning a large piece of glass than caring for the pet inside of it (it has a short lifespan, probably that's why)
It won't be soon anyway, can be more or less than a year from now, and I might not do this at all, but I want to explore my options and start planning ahead.
Hope this isn't too off topic, I figured it will be fine as I'm discussing an object related to the topic of this sub.
