So, I am trying to get him to think on a deeper level and understand the author’s purpose, from the content to the message to the way it is written. Additionally he is not challenged in reading in school. The past few years, sadly, I’ve increasingly seen students who have only read graphic novels before coming to me.

Hello! I am a 19-year-old who really loves their father. He is the only parent I've had for a while now, and he would do absolutely anything for my brother and me. All he wants to do is be a good dad, and he always strives to help my brother and me no matter the circumstances. The Best. He is 65 working in a laborious factory from 4 am-2 pm and wishing to retire soon, but money has been a bit of a struggle. Unfortunately, I royally messed up; I really hurt and upset my father and I am really struggling financially to make it up to him.
I will be sincere: I subscribed to a streaming service using my dad's card a while back, which has been charging my father one hundred and ten dollars a month for so long, that it has cost him over $2,000. He only noticed just now because he was also subscribed to that streaming service, so he assumed the charges were normal. Then, he noticed he was being charged $110 twice a month. I am extremely cautious when it comes to using my dad's card to subscribe to things, making sure I cancel right after a purchase. I one hundred and ten percent believed that I canceled it! I went out of my way to make sure I canceled it, by setting a reminder on my phone to cancel the subscription. I even remember him asking about the subscription years ago, and I said I would take care of it, which, to my knowledge, I did.
Well, turns out I was wrong. I know this was very stupid of me, and I have seen situations of this happening to other people, and I always thought, "could never be me", well, here I am. A stupid kid with their father's money. I was so devastated I couldn't stop crying when trying to do every-day tasks. I can't imagine if I had a kid and they did this to me. He was so frustrated with me but HE managed to comfort ME in the midst of him finding out about the loss of all of that money, which is a strength I hope to embody, just like him. I have already apologized and told him how embarrassed and how stupid this was of me. I have been begging him and I tried to force him to accept my $2,000 that I have in my savings, but he laughed at me and said, "That's all of your savings, don't send me any money".
Now, just because he could afford his own charge for his subscription, does not mean that he can afford the second charge. Just recently, he asked me for some money.. had I known I was doing this, I would've let him have my entire bank account at the time.
I feel crushed, embarrassed, and angry at myself for letting such a simple fix slip my mind. I really, desperately, want and need to make it up to him. He has already given me the world and spent so much money on me that it physically and mentally pains me that I have betrayed him like this. I have learned from my terrible mistake and I will never subscribe to something using his card again. In fact, I am going to cancel any and every subscription that I have tied through his card, because I am an adult now, and I do not need my father's money. What I do want, though, is any sympathy for my poor father. My dumbass made a gofundme that I have attached in this post because I don't know where else to look, and I want to magically surprise him with all of the money, with no questions asked. I promise if I get rich one day I will give back to everyone who donates, but, for now, I am just a simple person on the internet who made a mistake, and is looking to the public to help my father out for the greater good. I want to put a smile on his face, I want to say sorry while actually making it up to him. I can do so with the help of you, a random stranger on the internet!
