4) I hate the way she looks, acts all tough despite looking and having the build of a 13 year old girl. Her hair looks terrible, her skin is too sickly and pale white, looks like a vampire or a corpse.
5) I hate how she is forced down our throats on almost every single major plot point.
Tldr: I hate her lol, fair play to anyone that likes her, personally I just couldn't stand her.

This is assuming that each planet will have a tailored starting tech tree, lower tech level items, and scaled enemies/hazards similar to starting on Nauvis. Also, naturally, Nauvis would be beefed up if it turns into a secondary or later planet. The first four planets would be the ones to choose from to start. Most of the tech tree would be the same for all planets. Just that each of the planet specific tech will have earlier versions.
If they officially created this option, which planet would be the most fun to start a new game?

2024.11.25 23:29 howdypartner1301 So the biggest winner of the screen adaptation is Glinda, right?
Spoilers for second act of the musical if you haven’t seen it.
I’ve seen the stage show 4 times and always considered the story to be a co-lead between Elphaba and Glinda, with Elphaba getting slightly more focus. There is huge debate right now about whether Glinda is a co-lead or just a very prominent supporting role in Elphaba’s story. If anything, I feel like the film helps Glinda’s story be fleshed out the most.
Glinda does get some character development in Act I of the musical, but it is somewhat minimal. It mainly involves just her becoming friends with Elphaba without really examining herself. I feel that her development in the film comes across way stronger. That may be because of more screen time/dialogue, directorial choices or perhaps just creative choices by Ariana Grande. Or a combo of all 3.
One example is just the level of detail that can be pulled out of her character in a scene. In my opinion, there are 3 main interpretations of Glinda during “No One Mourns the Wicked”.
- The first is just the literal interpretation, which is the one that the Ozians believe: Glinda is celebrating with the Ozians that Elphaba is dead because she was evil. This interpretation could reasonably be held by audience members who know the story of The Wizard of Oz and are watching Wicked for the first time without any additional information.
- The second is the interpretation that seems clear after Act I: Glinda knows that Elphaba isn’t Wicked, but she has to play along, and her singing is actually full of pain for Elphaba while appeasing the Ozians. If someone had no other information except Act I / the first film, this might seem like the interpretation you go with.
- The third is the interpretation that you might have after seeing the complete product: Glinda is actually singing about herself. Not only is she in pain because she knows Elphaba isn’t Wicked, she is reckoning with the consequences of her own actions. “Goodness knows the Wicked’s lives are lonely, goodness knows the Wicked die alone”. Glinda lost her best friend and her lover because she chose the performative “goodness” of supporting the Wizard who is “good”, while actually ending up feeling more alone than she ever has.
Ok I feel like this turned into a rant. The TL;DR is that film Glinda feels like the most fleshed out and developed Glinda I’ve ever seen, Ariana Grande absolutely nails her in comedic and dramatic moments, and I can’t wait for part 2

So this will be my first Kpop concert and I'm going to the Toronto dominATE tour next year... alone. Which is already scary- Second, I got nosebleed seats as anything on the floor was WAY out of my budget and I could barely afford the nosebleed seats ;( I'm really excited but also feeling down about all these factors, is there any advice for going alone to a concert and being in nosebleed seats? I hope to attend more in the future and get better seating but as I am still young, I'm okay with nosebleed seats ahah.

To give some background to this, my family is pretty dysfunctional and my mom and I were semi-no contact for about a year in 2021-2022/2023. My husband (24M) and | (23F) are expecting a baby and my family offered to host a baby shower for us this past weekend. We currently live about 10 hrs away, so we came down for 5 days to visit and for the shower. Well when we first got there my mom said "you're gonna be shocked to see Sailor", which is my cat from high school who lives with my mom. The thing with that is, when I joined the Army he stayed with her for what I thought would be a temporary stay until I was settled in. However every time l've asked to take him back (since literally as soon as I finished training), she insists he's bonded with her cat and she doesn't want to separate them. This was fine with me until seeing the state he was in. He's 11 now and was always a big chunky cat, but now he's basically skin and bones. She said he's had "a few seizures or strokes", but told me she hasn't taken him to the vet and has him eating kitten food to try to get him to gain weight... We also noticed he has fleas, which led us to think he may have worms, since he “just won’t gain any weight but eats all the time”. We were both really bothered by the fact he hasn't been taken to the vet to see what's going on. Another thing is, ever since her and her BF got two new dogs, they make the cats stay in the downstairs/ basement with the door closed at night, and no longer have a cat tree for them in the house at all, plus the dogs have destroyed almost all the cat toys. It breaks my heart to see him act so bothered when the dogs try to play rough with him, and she just thinks it’s funny that “they’re playing”. My husband and I spoke about it during our stay and agreed I should ask again to take him home with us. The baby shower was a couple days ago and was incredible. We're so thankful for their generosity and support towards us, especially considering things have been rocky between us all in the past. To avoid ruining the shower or making the trip awkward we agreed for me to ask my mom on the last day. I initially asked and phrased it as I just miss him so much and wanted to see about getting him back now that I'm out of the Army and we have a bigger house. She said no and that's when I brought up being concerned about him and sad thinking he might pass while I'm away. I mentioned getting him on our pet insurance since we have 5 cats we already have insurance on. That's when she got mad and started saying I'm accusing her of neglecting and abusing her animals and that "he's fine he's just old". She also brought up "are you just going to ignore me for another year if you don't get your way", although I never went full no contact even while overseas and even when I really wanted to. Overall I felt like I tried to not escalate the situation and it seemed like she was more offended I brought it up than actually concerned about the cat. I apologized and said I didn't want to upset her or for her to be mad at me and we thanked her, her BF, and my sister for everything, then my husband and I left, since we had to drive home today anyway. Now I'm just still feeling upset that it doesn't seem like she's going to actually take him to the vet, and trying to figure out how to go from here. Should I follow up and ask if she's taken him to the vet yet in a few weeks? Am I completely overreacting?

Hallöchen ihr Lieben, ich bin 24 und möchte meine 20er eigentlich nutzen um neues zu erleben, Menschen kennenzulernen und mich auszutauschen. An sich würde ich mich als sehr offene und soziale Person beschreiben.. Leider mit einem sehr schwankenden Selbstbewusstsein. 80% der Zeit fällt es mir super leicht auf Leute zuzugehen aber 20% des Jahres fällt es mir schwer und ich fühle mich unsicher. In so einer Phase bin ich grad.Ich möchte dem entgegenwirken und aus meiner Comfortzone heraustreten und außerdem neue Freunde finden. Ich liebe meine Freundinnen aber jeder hat doch so sein eigenes Leben und häufig sind alle sehr beschäftigt und dann würde ich gerne die Zeit nutzen trotzdem neue Leute kennenzulernen und neues auszuprobieren. Also gerne her mit euren Tipps. Wichtig dazu zu sagen wäre vielleicht noch, dass ich gerade vor 4 Wochen in meine Heimat zurück gezogen bin & mich nach über 4 Jahren abwesenheit erstmal wieder einleben muss. É meio óbvio que sim né, mas queria ouvir uns conselhos. Eu (h19) tenho uma relação de amor e ódio a min mesmo, eu sinto que eu só tenho um valor se eu for o melhor, eu me cobro muito por isso. Exemplo: eu desenho, mas tem alguém no meu trabalho que desenha melhor que eu e tem traços mais avançados, então eu me sinto insuficiente e menos que ele, afinal o que eu faço desde criança ele faz melhor a sei lá quanto tempo. O que me ocorre também na academia, sempre tem alguém que tem um shape melhor que eu, que começou a muita menos tempo que eu e não parece ter o mesmo esforço que eu tive. Isso real me deixa mal, pq nada me destaca, parece que sou um eterno segundo lugar.
