2024.11.25 23:29 ElweewutRoone How does university education fit within syndicalism?
How would people getting degrees help or hinder the syndicalist movement? On one hand, I see the fallacious idea of meritocracy as something that could hold us back (since class mobility is quite heavily restricted), and on the other, I see potential in people ‘earning’ more money to survive more comfortably/at all (especially in areas with high cost of living). How can this be reconciled, if possible?

2024.11.25 23:29 Insaneoid Can any solo TTRPG be played multiplayer?
I feel like I've seen the inverse of this question a bit, can any group TTRPG be played solo, and I think due to emulators and the like, the answer to this is "pretty much yes". But I wondered if the inverse was true. Do you think it's possible to play any solo-specific game with a group of players? Are there any solo games you can think of where this definitely wouldn't work? I figure some tweaking to any given system would be neccassary, but that feels true of the inverse question too.

How to handle my (24F) partner’s (25M) controlling behavior?
I’m literally at my parent’s house typing this right now because I feel crazy. My partner and I have been together for about 7-8 months. We both have kids and previous relationship baggage. Everything has been relatively smooth sailing until recently, when he went through my phone and read all of my texts from YEARS back. I’m talking about 3-5 years ago. This happened when I was asleep.
In reading these texts, he educated himself on my entire dating history vicariously through the texts with my best friend. I never deleted our text thread because we don’t live near each other so we send each other a ton of photos and I like having them all there. I also had nothing to hide, and I never thought someone would read the texts so… thoroughly. Ever since the debacle, he questions EVERY thing I do.
- Just today, he noticed I was wearing lip gloss while I was working from home and kept asking me who I was going to meet with. Got upset and had me wipe it off.
- Just today, I had to hang up the phone to get my daughter from karate. The head master at the dojo had to talk to me for about 5 minutes before I was able to call him back. He now says he doesn’t like me going there with her since I supposedly hung up the phone to talk to someone else.
- Will smell my neck, hair, etc. to make sure I’m not wearing perfume for anyone.
- Still goes through my phone regularly whether I am aware of it or not and even messes with my iCloud settings in an attempt to recover deleted messages he may not have seen before.
- Got mad at me for going to a Christmas event with my mother.
- Doesn’t want me talking to my friends or talking about our relationship with any other people.
- Got upset that I had my regular therapy appointment because he knew I would “talk shit” about him for an hour straight. Proceeded to bash me for being in therapy because my problems aren’t “that big” and “everyone goes through stuff like that.”
- Doesn’t let me go to the gym alone and when I do go with him, I can’t wear certain things.
- I work a hybrid schedule but he gets mad when I go into the office and “get dolled up” because he thinks I would be seeing someone there. He has tried to bar me from going into the office.
- Questions anything I wear. Even my “mom jeans.” I literally only wear sweat pants or baggy sweaters now.
- Questions anything I do or anywhere I go.
Whenever I try to explain what I was doing, he just tells me “it’s just weird that you did that when you’ve never done it before” and it’s making me feel crazy. I shouldn’t have to defend every benign interaction I make. I’m trying to justify his behavior because I do love him… but it’s getting harder and harder with every time he questions something I do.

 | Had a Penn Fierce IV LE 9ft Med. Heavy - Mod. Fast combo. Unfortunately for me, the rod had its last fishing trip sadly, but the 6000 LE reel is still good. I'm a bit confused, as some 10ft rods have a lure rating of max 1 oz. Whereas some 9ft have a max of 5 oz. What determines this? Never had tried to pair a rod and reel before, any advice or pointers? It was a surf rod and reel, but I freshwater fish. Looking for casting distance, used mainly on dams and large lakes bank fishing.
