2024.11.25 23:30 Routine_Function8941 Coming from Apple Watch Series 5

Coming from Apple Watch Series 5 I’ve been an Apple stan for my whole life, but think it’s time to change and upgrade. I’ve seen this and a few people have made comments about how it’s such a good offer.
Can anyone convince me to buy or tell me what’s it’s like going from apple to garmin?

2024.11.25 23:30 ManicMelancho1ic what are some fun budget friendly things to do in vancouver?

hello! i (21 m) am a flight attendant based in california ysa and i've always wanted to visit vancouver.
what are some fun but budget friendly things i can do in vancouver this time of year? i've tried to look on google, facebook, and on this subreddit but i haven't found many results posted over the past few days.
i have a 32 hour layover coming up soon on dec 1-2 and this will be my first time here, i'm so excited! my hotel will be in richmond, and based on a quick search on google maps it isn't in vancouver (?) but as with any city i go to i'm always willing to take transit to get places.
i love thrifting, dive bars, quick trips to the beach, and trying out attractions and small businesses. to the locals: what are some fun but budget friendly things to do in vancouver on dec 1-2?
edit sooo i've found out that vancouver is one of the most expensive cities to live in in canada. so budget friendly might not be an option i guess but i'm still open to reading any suggestions lol

2024.11.25 23:30 20minutebooks The Evolution of Everything - Book Summary

Explore Evolution Beyond Biology with "The Evolution of Everything" by Matt Ridley
In "The Evolution of Everything," Matt Ridley explores how the concept of evolution extends beyond the genetic realm into every aspect of our lives. From economic markets and technology to language and societal customs, evolution serves as a driving force behind gradual, aimless changes that shape our world.
Ridley, drawing from his rich background in science, economics, and journalism, presents a compelling argument that human culture's advancement mirrors the organic, decentralized nature of biological evolution. He challenges the notion of top-down design, suggesting that innovations and societal shifts result from countless individual interactions.
Key Insights:

Ridley's narrative pushes us to rethink the sources of innovation and societal progress, highlighting the power of evolutionary processes in shaping our existence.
For those intrigued by how evolutionary principles apply to the broader spectrum of human activity, "The Evolution of Everything" offers a thought-provoking perspective. Join us in this exploration by listening to the podcast episode or visiting 20minutebooks.com for a deeper dive into Ridley's fascinating insights.

2024.11.25 23:30 datenschutz21 Is this sunburn damage on mama bear manzanita?

Is this sunburn damage on mama bear manzanita? I planted this mama bear manzanita this past April and it started looking like this probably around June or July, which makes me think it’s sunburn damage since it’s in full sun and gets reflected heat from my neighbor’s driveway. Does that sound right? Will it bounce back?

2024.11.25 23:30 TermDirect6520 Why aren't large factories and industries blamed as much as the regular car owner is, for pollution and climate change?

Even on a google search, the top results would talk about using less electricity at home, using green energy as much as possible, something or the other that can blame the individual. And I get it, we should support as much as possible.
But what about the overproduction of 'things'? Why allow manufacturing of so many cars if we shouldn't be having so many cars? The factories definitely will need more electricity than an individual's house. What about the constant cutting of forests including the last remaining areas in the Amazon? Banning fireworks for individuals is ok, but what about the bombs and millitary equipment being used in wars and 'military operations' or 'installing democracies' throughout the world?
Politicians constantly travel in private jets to climate conferences to discuss how to manage climate crisis (despite internet and all the online platforms available). They are just meeting and discussing stuff.. then they will be buying plastic bottled water on a large scale at that conference for all the delegates!
It is ok for big firms to stop giving a charger in the box and pretend that they are doing it for the environment while openly using even more packaging to sell the charger separately.
Bad AQI makes it necessary for individuals buy air purifiers that are mass manufactured in a large scare industry that consumes resources, creates waste. The purifier needs constant air filter replacement that produces more household waste..
What kind of a mad mad world are we in?

I have a barely used Kindle Scribe. 10 inch screen, Kindle folio cover and deluxe pen. The screen size is amazing but as I am not taking notes with it I think I should have purchased the Paperwhite instead.
If anyone wants it for $200 I can meet up anywhere on campus.

2024.11.25 23:30 seanmurraywork Question regarding Philips 500 shaver

Hello,
I have a beard-stache and like to keep a heavy 5 o'clock shadow beard.
I just bought a Philips 500 shaver because I read that shavers with rotary blades are the right ones for maintaining this look.
Yet, when I used it, I could not find a dial to change the blade settings, and nothing seemed to be mentioned in the instruction manual. I ended up having to shave my beard completely off.
Is there anyone familiar with this shaver, do you know if it is possible to change the length of the blade?
Thank you very much.

2024.11.25 23:30 Wonderful_Donkey8967 First NMM on a mounted Faramir

First NMM on a mounted Faramir I had this mounted Faramir model which I really like after a minor equipment mod, and I also wanted to give NMM a try. So, why not?
I'm quite happy, being my first attempt. On the table it looks vey good, and all the imperfection that are visible at close up disappears.
Ofc I also gave him some friends to take back Osgiliath :)
