But I have a few doubts on knowing when to use عند and لي. If someone can help me understand it better, I... News is today's news, typically things that have happened in the last 24 hours. (Or for a weekly magazine like The Economist or Time it's the last week's news - news since the previous edition.) 'Current' has a much wider meaning: current affairs are ongoing big stories like the Greek debt crisis, the Arab Spring, the melting of the Arctic ice cap, and so on. Does anyone have any ideas for better and/or more accurate translations? I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, but this is in the context of people speaking Syrian Arabic. (Although as far as I know the same phrases are used throughout the Arab world - I could be wrong there, though.) Any help would be much appreciated. Questions about Arabic, or translations between Arabic and any other language. Hello I'm interested to know what word is used in different dialects for "roundabout" (or "traffic circle", that is, the "road junction in which traffic streams circulate around a central island"). In Lebanon we use مستديرة or دوّار. Thanks An ordinary woman couldn't call her husband by his name when she talks about him but would call him (si 'whatever'), (el-beyh bta3i), and he would call her (Haramna), and grand parents (sett and seed), etc. This formality in many spheres of life was one of the hallmarks of the long Turkish presence in the Arab world. hala! I have heard people say this when they want you to do something for them but I suspect it may have more than one meaning; fidwa and also fidwa ru7 lak (?) (They shout it out loud at the top of their voices(:))

2024.11.26 00:19 Itchy-Mycologist939 MS Licensing for home computer / occasional office work?

Any MS licensing experts here?
I got a referral from my former boss for one of his colleagues. He wants me to setup his new home PC with Microsoft 365 (among other things).
I suggested to just get MS 365 Personal or Family since the computer is only to be used at home and checking occasional work emails or documents won't be an issue. He then said he was told he needs 1 license for each company he manages on the same computer (he is the owner of 3 businesses). I said I'd do some research and get back.
I tried reaching out to MS but I got mixed answers after being transferred a few times.
I was always under the impression that personal licenses can only be used at home and so long as the majority of your license use is for personal. Meaning, if you work from home, then it's a business license requirement. However, if you have a dedicated business computer and just want to occasionally use your personal for work, then it's not an issue. By this I mean, you do your 9-5 on your work and the 1 or 2 hours in the evening you use your home PC for "work".
Also, the part with 3 licenses also seems crazy. Yes, the companies are different but it is still the same person and device.
What do the reddit experts say?

My account was fully verified, my card was on file, in my own name and matching my documentation. I had bought in and redeemed MANY TIMES and REALLY loved Chanced.
About 3 months ago, they turned off my ability to buy in. The day it happened, over the course of 24 hours, I had spent about $80 on 5 SC and 20 SC packages. Again, using my card that THEY HAD REDEEMED TO SEVERAL TIMES.
I messaged and asked why and got the run around for about a week while they "looked into it" then I got a message saying it was "likely" because I had bought a couple back to back $5 packages and triggered their fraud alert. Then, crickets. Nothing.
Today, I went on and claimed my daily and just decided to message again and see why I still couldn't buy in.
They claimed I was supposed to send in "compliance documents" so I asked when and what they wanted. This conversation was happening with "Joshua" though emails.
Suddenly, someone named "Alecs" jumps in and says:
Please be advised that your account was found to be in violation of our Terms of Service and, as a result, your account is now closed. Thank you!

No explanation. No reason. No nothing.
People don't deserve this kind of treatment from companies we willingly give our money to.
I'm glad they did it now that this happened.
I wasn't in violation of ANYTHING. I did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong.
I didn't do anything reckless like having multiple accounts or buying large packages. I NEVER, nor would ever, did a charge back or dispute. I had referrals on my account and I was a normal, good customer.
Chanced is scummy, period. I don't care how fast they pay or if their games are fun. When you treat paying customers like this for no reason, you're just scummy.

I have been trying to make a script that automates the installation and configuration of FFmpeg to work with VidBlaster on a Windows 10 or 11 PC. The script should download the FFmpeg static build, extract it to C:\ffmpeg, and add it to the system PATH. It also needs to create a PowerShell script that captures VidBlaster’s video output and streams it to a Raspberry Pi.
Additionally, I want the script to ensure that FFmpeg starts automatically whenever VidBlaster is launched.
