 | I'm learning that the derailleur on a bicycle is basically like butter on toast—when the toast falls, it always lands butter-side down. Had a crash yesterday that mangled my derailleur hanger and had to replace it (see below). I believe the replacement went well—I was able to retune the derailleur and it seems like I have perfect shifting once again—but it feels like this was the most finnicky self-service I've yet had to do on a bicycle. My question is: are there any beginner mistakes I should double check myself on—anything that could seem fine now but hurt me in the long run? I'd also like to know if the old hanger is worth trying to realign or if it should be considered a lost cause at this point. 2024.11.26 00:39 YourTypicalAntihero MSI Ventus 4070 2x vs PNY 4070 Super
Was planning to get the PNY Verto 4070 super for $590 for an upcoming travel build in a Midori 5L(CPU: 12400F). Goal is high refresh 1080p on a 16in-ish screen but the 4070 super was making me search out 1440p options too. Now the MSI Ventus 4070 2x has dropped another $50 making it a full $100 below the PNY 4070s.
I am leaning toward the 4070 now, but honestly trust PNY more(more like I don't trust MSI) and am worried about longevity of a base 4070 build. A 4070 would run either display great, and considering it's a travel build, it doesn't need to be as powerful as possible. But also, who doesn't want a more powerful GPU in a lunchbox?
Is a 4070 super worth the extra $100 in this case? Would a Super get you a longer life with more capable frame gen/DLSS(assuming I get a 1440p to not deal with 1080p upscaling)?

This is kinda long so I apologize in advance but the title is the TLDR version.
So here's this ambassador at my site, woman maybe in her mid 30s. SO rude and unprofessional from day one. Complaining when she had to find a translator for our class of new hires since two or three people didn't speak good English. We had a translator the first day (she wasn't there for that class) but not the second day. So when she came in the second day she was like "well how did you guys get passed the first day then??" As if she didn't BELIEVE them when they said their English was bad. Rolling her eyes, scoffing and complaining the ENTIRE time we were trying to figure out how to accommodate these poor people, who were obviously super uncomfortable by now. One of the other people in the class who spoke Arabic and English had to translate for them because they didn't take the time to get an actual translator. THEN she proceeded to stop the class to this guy about three times for talking, even after he told her several times he was just translating for the others. Met with more scoffs and eye rolls.
Now about two weeks ago I was training for rebin/induct and she was being so rude, making me so uncomfortable. I felt HORRIBLE every time I made a mistake, mind you this is my first 3hours in this position. It got to the point where whenever I had a question I wouldn't ask because I was scared. No one should EVER feel like that when training. Whenever the other people I was training with went out of earshot she'd begin talking crap about them. "These new hires are so unprofessional. I hate people like that. This is so annoying." Etc. Made me wonder what she was saying about me whenever I wasn't around.
Anyway. Sorry it was so long, I'm just so incredibly upset about this ladies unprofessionalism.
