So what's been the official word on what magic has become in Veilguard?
I've been playing the game since about a year after Origins came out, when my pc was still Windows XP and my monitor was larger than my head, and my constant 2nd playthroughs was always as a mage. I loved magic ever since then and have loved the Lore of Thedas Magic especially.
I'm not gonna talk about my misgivings and opinions on Veilguard, which I have...many, but I am going to ask about whats been made different about all magic in Thedas in general.
Specifically:
1) What's the deal with the whole elemental orb and dagger thing? Is there new lore around it that's hidden in a codex entry somewhere you can pick up? If so, where do I find it?
2) Is magic now different with the out pouring of Raw magic in Arlathan specifically? Does this mean that more sci-fi looking concepts can be implemented with all the things they set up in the "magitek" of the ancient Elvhen?
3) Is teleporting a thing now? Portals and teleport spells have been used by boss enemies and even minor bosses alike as far as ive gotten and I'm curious if there was a lore explanation somewhere as to how they did it and how different it is from an eluvian

Got sick, got worse. Any hope??
Last Friday I had a sore throat sinus congestion body aches and headache.
The acute infection was very mild and I had four days off and felt okay for the time being but on day 5 I noticed that my brain fog was worse than ever. I was having trouble reading and staring at my phone as the screen was making me dizzy. Also anytime I had to think about something intently I got immediate nausea and headache.
Around Day 7 my sore throat, congestion, headache was gone but I still had this weird brain fog that made me dizzy but now I had to poop a lot.
It’s day 10 and I pushed myself a bit hard the past two days with work and visiting family and now I’m scared I’m entering moderate-severe territory. My mom came over this morning with food and she left early because I just wasn’t well enough to have conversation.
And before you ask if I had COVID this past week, I don’t know! I tested with multiple RATs from Day 1-Day 6 and never got a positive test. I’m scared that I had COVID and made myself worse because I couldn’t get meds!
I don’t know what to do I’ve been in bed all day just resting. I was mild before this crash!!! This is the worst I’ve ever ever felt! I’m at the point where I’m saying my life is over.
Is there anything I can do? Should I test again and pray it’s Covid positive for Paxlovid or something? I was getting better since my last infection in March!

From what I can tell, the main issue with the disappointing series drops is that newer players have trouble being able to build competative decks and have to go against players who have those decks.
This can be resolved by
- More substantial drops (in quality and/or quantity. Today of all days, I don't need to elaborate)
- Reworking the spotlight system to be more accommodating to the sheer number of cards added to the game. I joined the game in august 2023, just after it was implamented, and am a f2p player (except for one season pass, September 2024) and I have a decent collection. This is what makes me think the issue is that the system does not work now because of how many cards have been added without dropping to series 3 this year. It's not the rng that's the issue, especially for new players trying to collect more cards, it's the lack of opportunity to get cards. This could be fixed by more keys, no duplication from the mystery card, more reward from duplication, and other ways I can't think of right now.
This is three things that could solve the struggles of new players to keep up, I feel even only one of these changes would greatly help. But I am not a new player, so I am curious if new players think this would work, especially the last one, as it is not about card acquisition.

I just completed Link’s Awakening DX for the first time ever and had a really special experience! Even though this is my first time beating it, I’ve had a funny relationship with the game growing up.
