With the political turmoil that's imminent in the US - it's hard to deny hard times are coming. I am worried obviously and I need perspective.
I am new to the stock market and have only been investing for 3 years. I had a considerable amount saved up, hoping to buy a home but I gave up on the idea as the housing market became unrealistic. I decided to invest almost all my money into stocks in late 2021 and I am currently up $200k of unrealized gains.
I have no immediate need for the money and I truly want to believe the future is bright. However, with Trump becoming president again, I don't want to kick myself when I lose everything I've made in the last couple of years.
Taking it out all out will have a big tax implication but if it's what I need to do then so be it. I clearly need guidance on this decision and I want to know if there's others who feel the same way. Anyone else in my position? Have you cashed out? Staying put? What are you planning on doing? To me, this is now or never, I don't want to go for the ride, I feel like it's all downhill from here. I can handle a bumpy road but not a complete crash, which I figure if that was to happen, then we're all in the same boat anyway so what difference does it make. Clearly I am new to all this and need guidance. Thanks.

I've been alcohol free from oct 10 to nov 10, then slipped up. Drank from nov 11 to nov 23 (2 weeks) anywhere from 6 to 12 glasses of wine. Started day 1 again on Sunday and I have bloodwork tomorrow at 4pm, so will technically be alcohol free for almost 3 days (64 hrs). My ast/alt on Oct 25 was 54/50 before drinking too much for 2 wks.
Anyone see a drop in these levels after a couple of days AF?
