Just started J2. It's a BDR role with a SaaS startup making real estate software, and there's only two of us. The company is so new that they don't have any performance metrics set for us. They just told us we'll set our own standards for dials/day and that kind of thing. So far nothing is being tracked, but starting 12/16 next week we're moving to a new CRM (Hubspot) and things will be tracked.
So here's my question: what do I say to my colleague to try to get him to see the benefits of keeping the standards on the lower end? I've tried broaching the topic with him, and said "I think you and I should team up to decide what kinds of metrics we should set as a goal for ourselves," and his reply was that he wants leadership to do that. So I reminded him that when I asked them, leadership told us it's up to us, and all he said was "Okay hmm."
I wish I could just pull the guy into a huddle and tell him how much he could benefit from keeping the bar low and then getting a second job. But I'm getting bootlicker vibes from his non-committal replies -- or am I reading too far into it?
I'm going to force him to discuss it with me, and tell him what number I think is realistic for a "minimum," and then we can exceed it if we're having an easy day. But I have a feeling he's going to exceed it by quite a bit every day and make me look like I'm slacking off.
If this guy doesn't ruin everything, I could easily spend only 1/3-1/4 of my 8 hour day on this job and take on J3. Really hoping I can swing it.

2024.11.26 00:30 mitpek Super Soco CPx Speed Limit
I managed to pick up a cheap used CPx that was used as part of a courier fleet (Getir, if you remember them). Low mileage and dual batteries, only needed a little TLC and it rides very well (changed the branded panels and a deep clean :) )
The only issue is the speed seems to be limited to 30 mph - I'm presuming this was set as part of the previous company requirements (it came with a top box with a 30 mph limit sticker). It's not ideal for the A roads on my commute.
I've tried researching to see if it's possible to remove the limit, there's not much about this for the CPx online - anyone have any insight into whether this is possible or am I stuck?

I’m looking into replacing all of the belts except for the timing belt on my 3.4L. (Timing belt was done by the previous owner and it’s recent enough). How hard of a job am I looking at? I’m not the most mechanically inclined but I have a great set of tools and love to learn this stuff instead of bringing it to a shop. Also any recommendations for brands? Thanks!

As of this point in the story (end of year 2) I firmly believe that nobody at the school can beat Koji. Yamagi and Ichika were the only ones, but he swept up Yagami and tamed Ichika. But doesn't the white room get more and more intense with each generation, so theoretically there's gonna be a point where every curriculum onwards matches or is harder than the beta curriculum right? Any kid who survives that could maybe beat him. There's also Shiro, the kid who willingly dropped out of the white room. To me, he's the only one who is even closely on the same level as Koji.
What are your guys' thoughts on this?

2024.11.26 00:30 glippitydippity How urgent are antibiotics when an abscesed tooth causes an immune response?
I was diagnosed with an abscess in one of my upper left molars several months ago, while ive been unable to eat or drink anything colder than room temperature, it was not otherwise painful or sensative. My dentist said it will feel better for a bit when/if it bursts, but will then come back with a vengeance; he told me when that happens to call him, and get antibiotics.
I can't really afford to have it fixed until the new year, when my insurance will cover 80% instead of 10%, so I've been holding out. But this past weekend, I found myself suddenly unable to comfortably chew any food on the left side of my mouth. I initially thought I had injured my gums by flossing, as it only hurt in between two teeth and never "felt better". But it has steadily gotten worse since then, and I'm currently experiencing an immune response, which has increased over the course of today.
I haven't had a chance to check my temperature, but I feel like I have a fever. I'm also achy, with a stiff neck, and just generally feel "out of it". The pain has spread across my upper jaw, and I have a throbbing headache. After calling my dentist, I found out he is out of town, and the practice that is covering for him wants to see me before doing anything. I got an appointment tomorrow morning, but am concerned about the risk of infection. My spouse is out of town tonight, and I really don't want to develop sepsis overnight, she would be very upset if I died in such a stupid/preventable way. Should I call the practice back and try to get antibiotics, or maybe go to urgent care after work? Thank you for any reassurance you can give.
TL;DR I have an abscess which is increasingly painful, and 3-4 days of feverish symptoms consistent with an ongoing infection, what are the chances of contracting sepsis before an appointment tomorrow.
