Hi everyone, we recently purchased a new-build house, and today we noticed a leak in the basement, just two months after moving in. It’s worth mentioning that we recently had a major heavy snowfall. The home builder is scheduled to come tomorrow to inspect the issue, but I’m wondering what might have caused this. The leak is in the mechanical room, behind the furnace and hot water tank area, seems like the drywall is the most wet spot of this so that’s probably were it’s happening. Thank you!

Holidays with my husband have been hard since having kids. We don’t work well together, again something we found out after having kids, and our approach to holidays is very different. I love putting thought into gifts and trying to make the day magical, I get such enjoyment out of surprising people with gifts. I’ve also always been poor most of my life so I can stretch a dollar during the holidays and always wait for deals or get things second hand.
We have two kids who are 4&6, husband works full time and I work weekends, our kids do hybrid school so they are in person 3 days a week and homeschooled the rest of the time. Since the very first holiday as parents my husband never seems interested in planning or buying gifts. I’ll try to talk to him about a budget, I’ll try to go over gift ideas, I’ll try to show him the things I got after they arrive so he knows what the kids are getting. He might pick out one or two things at Christmas, but usually gets them last minute after I’ve guilted him into trying to get something. I get the gifts for both sides of our family and all of our nieces and nephews.
Unfortunately this year I’m recovering from surgery and have been out of work since August on FMLA. I’m going back in a couple weeks but I haven’t been bringing in money. My husband and I maintain separate bank accounts (generally my account is used for kid related things and his account is used for general bills) and I’ve asked probably a dozen times if we can please talk about a plan for Christmas, because I have no money in my account and the holiday is approaching. Every time he blows me off or says yes and conveniently gets distracted by something.
Tonight I asked again and he said yes, so I just led in with “my lists are picked out, I just need the money to pay for it” and he flipped out at me. He said it was rude and inconsiderate, and that I asked if we could have a conversation and then just blurted out that I already had everything picked out so didn’t actually care to have a conversation with him about it. I responded by saying that for 6 years now I’ve had to beg for him to be involved with holiday and birthday shopping, and every year he says he will talk to me about it and participate and he never does, so why would I think that he actually wants to talk about the gifts? He knows my account is empty so what we need to talk about is the money. If he wants to participate I would be thrilled but he doesn’t need my permission to make his own list and share it with me if he wants to, or even pick a few things as a surprise. But that I wasn’t going to just take his ideas and then do all of the shopping for him, I’ve already spent weeks shopping on my own like I’ve always had to do, getting blown off every time I try to approach the subject. My comment about needing money for the things I’ve picked out is just a statement of truth, it has nothing to do with his ability to also pick out gifts or my desire for him to help.
He called me the AH and said he wanted to be away from me the rest of the night. AITA for what I said?

I had an interesting experience at work today. Certain parts of the building are secured and require a badge and/or special authorization to access that area. But some of these rooms have back doors where you can freely exit. But you aren't allowed to enter from that way or to let someone in.
So today I was in one of these secured areas and I heard someone knocking and banging on the back door. I ignored it. Then a coworker unwittingly opened the door and let them in. It happened to the be the boss and a team of people from one of our biggest clients. The boss was a bit perturbed asking me if I heard him knocking and why I didn't answer. I know I did the right thing per company policy not knowing that it was him on the other side.
And so I jokingly said, "It's just like when you were left home alone as a kid and your parents told you to NEVER answer the door to ANYONE as they were leaving. And then 10 seconds later they would knock on the door to test you....
Everyone stood there with a blank stare as if they had never been home alone before. LOLOLOL

I have an LP120 (not the LP120x) that I've had for many years. I would like to improve the sound quality by upgrading the needle/cartridge. I don't mind if I have to upgrade to a different headshell as well. I considered going to a 2M red, but my wife has her own turntable that already has that. Since she has an arguably nicer turntable my 120 is going to become a project turntable that I plan on upgrading to get the best sound out of it. For now I feel that the stylus is the best first step. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there
As a woman with a smaller waist, I'm definitely intending to keep it (I do commercials occassionally and need to meet my measurements). However, I'd love to get a muscular lower back and deadlifts are definitely a no-go (some IFBB friends told me not to, apparently as it widens the waist and they compete in Bikini categories).
I do lots of yoga/mobility and started with calisthenics, however I always build quickly muscules when doing heavy lifting but had to cut down. Some minimal left-over love handles (otherwise I have front abs/slight obliques) and a rather unspectacular back.
Any tips?
