30 year old, female, she/her, non smoker, no prior health conditions
Hi all, I’m looking for advice or insight from anyone who’s experienced something similar.
I’m about five months into recovery from an ulnar shortening surgery I had in July. About 10 years ago, I had a radius shortening and recovered quickly, but this time around, it’s been rough.
Since the surgery, I’ve been in constant pain—some of the worst I’ve ever felt post-op. When I was in my hard cast (4 weeks post-op), the pain was so bad I had to go in for an emergency appointment to switch to a longer cast to stabilize my arm because it kept popping painfully all the time. Even now, the pain and popping haven’t gone away.
I wore a brace for four weeks after the cast, but the pain didn’t improve. Multiple X-rays suggested a possible impending nonunion, and I recently got a CT scan because of swelling and a noticeable bump at the incision site. Thankfully, my doctor ruled out hardware movement as a cause, but we still don’t know what’s going on.
I’ve been in physical therapy for two months with zero progress—even the soft tissue massage is excruciating. My doctor said my bloodwork is clear, so he’s hopeful there’s no infection, but he’s unsure why my bone isn’t healing or why I’m in so much pain. The current plan is to go back in a brace for 2–3 weeks to see if it helps with bone growth.
Here’s the thing—I’m in constant pain, way worse than before surgery when I only had wrist/hand pain. Over-the-counter meds barely help, and as much as I like my doctor, I’m starting to wonder if I need someone who specializes in complications like this.
Has anyone else dealt with something similar or have advice on what to do next?
Here’s the CT scan report:
Impression
1. Hardware fixation of ulnar osteotomy with lucency around the tip of interfragmentary screw, otherwise intact. No mature bone formation evident. Surrounding bone fragments are noted, including subcutaneous tissues dorsal to the defect where subcutaneous stranding/edema is present. 2. Intact radial fixation. Healed fracture. 3. Mild ulna positive variance noted. Mild irregularity of the proximal lunate may reflect sequela of ulnar abutment. Bones: There is an intact plate and screw fixation of the distal radius with healed fracture. Hardware fixation of ulnar osteotomy also noted, with lucency around tip of interfragmentary screw but otherwise intact hardware. There is no appreciable mature osseous union at the ulna defect. Small bone fragments are seen adjacent to the ulnar defect, as well as in subcutaneous tissues subjacent to the applied BB marker, where soft tissue stranding/edema is also present. Approximately 1.5 mm ulnar positive variance is seen, with 2 mm between distal ulna and ulnar aspect of lunate. Mild sclerotic changes and irregularity in proximal lunate with small volaulnar indentation noted. Other joints are maintained. No acute fracture or malalignment. I have a leased 2022 Subaru Outback that has a lease end buyout of $23500 and about $4650 in outstanding payments (9 at $518), so a total buyout of right around $28,100.
I am considering trading in the Subaru on a 2020 F150 that they have at the same Subaru dealership where I leased from. It is listed online for about 2-3k over what I think it is worth based on some comps I see at other dealerships.
Would it be best to see if the dealership would buy my Subaru outright first, then just buy the truck or to go straight to the point and see if they would negotiate the total deal?
I’m concerned that after January of 2025 things are going to get weird with tariffs and jack up the used car market. I do not want to buy the Subaru out at the end of the lease and would like a truck again for my outdoor pursuits.
I am a super prime credit score and have $10,000 cash to put down on the deal as well, just trying to figure out the best way to minimize negative equity and negotiate on the price of the truck a bit.
I have only ever traded in leased vehicles on other leases and have always had equity in the lease to roll over when I did. I don’t want to continue leasing at this point.
I appreciate any help or insight on this one!

I know a lot of streamers went to YouTube with very $$$ beneficial exclusive contracts a while back and a bunch of them are leaving now. Lud already talked about how YouTubes objective right now is to beat TikTok, leaving the competition with Twitch on the back burner.
But I just wanted to know if anyone ever heard a streamer talked about this: is this YouTube not giving as beneficial terms as they used to and that’s why streamers are fleeing orrr are they not renewing exclusive contracts at all making twitch the #1 option? Are exclusive contracts dead on both platforms?
