I’m currently working on an epic fantasy… thing… it feels like more than one book in scope but that’s a topic for another sub.
In any case, in my attempts at saving time most of the conlangs I’m working on/with are based on RW languages, then modified. As language - especially the nuances of translation and language shifts over time are central to the plot, I want to do this justice.
How do you all catalogue and keep your conlangs searchable and such? Do you have any tips for cross referencing amid different conlangs? Any tips of language shifts?

Let’s say you moved away from your country of birth and settled life in your new country. You already have a family and make occasional visits to your home country(like maybe once every 4-5 years) to see your family. Now let’s say there is this cousin or uncle/aunt of yours who you grew up with by spending Christmas each year or parent’s birthday parties with them and this relative visited your country and went to your area but he never told you. You only found out while they are there or they left? Will you get deeply offended by it? Or maybe even the reverse; your cousin who moved abroad visited the country but never told you.
Well that is happening now. My uncle and aunt visited the country my sister resides and never told her. My sister is deeply “offened” because they were in her life growing up but I told my sister “We can’t expect everyone to put us in their agenda. If you want to see them INVITE THEM!  | Hello! Received a new camera yesterday and put a test roll of reflxlab 400 through it, then developed and scanned quickly at home. I found these weird kinds of light leaks I've never seen before with reflxlab 400 affecting about half my shots. All of the leaks are red instead of white, which means they came through the back of the emulsion, and they're either these weird crosses of dots, or little square shapes, and they're not placed consistently. The dots sometimes span the unexposed negative between frames. All of this to me points at it being an issue with this particular roll of reflxlab 400 (respooled remjet removed 250D thats fairly cheap for me to import in small quantities vs off the shelf film in my country), but I also can't rule out that it's something with the camera yet. I've checked the pressure plate and it seems fine, not dirty but I gave it a decent wipe anyways. I'm putting a roll of portra through it today to see if I can reproduce. Anyone seen anything like this before? Recently, a memory had resurfaced back that made me realize that I should have never allowed my in-laws to disrespect me during a vulnerable time in my life. 2 years ago, I found out my father was dying. I was currently in grad school, and out of state, my parents refused for me to drop my studies to come home and help (I eventually did come home and juggled both school and caregiving).
He had weeks/months left. He didn’t want me to know, but my mom told me in private and it was crushing. At the time, I was under the impression that my partner’s parents and I were close and we went over the day I found out just to be around people. At first both of his parents were empathetic-ish. The father at the time didn’t show much emotions (I didn’t expect him to), and MIL made it about herself.
One day FIL was not there, and it was just me and partner sitting there watching tv with her. She pauses what she was watching and turns to me to ask about my dad’s progress. I kept the conversation short and said “he’s managing, thank you for asking I truly appreciate it” ( I did at the time), until she said this: “you know it’s so sad, I tell (insert FIL name) that he shouldn’t end up like your father, cause now look at your dad, what does he have to show for?” Just like that my jaw that I thought flew opened actually clenched, and I was fixing to say something heinous, partner’s hand squeezed my hand and in that moment he opened his mouth to ask her to clarify what she meant. I get in that moment he was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt so was I but I knew that she wasn’t gonna sound logical.
She then digs the hole further and says “well your father prioritized work over you, and now look, what does he have to show for? Nothing.” She didn’t know my father, I didn’t speak much about him to them because they never made the effort to meet him or to shake his hand, and for a while they thought I actually did not have a dad. When in reality, my father didn’t have the time to drive up 2 hours to meet them, cause prior to his illness he was juggling work, home, and a sick parent. Whereas they had all the time in the world to do so. MIL does not work, FIL runs his own business so they pick and choose days and hours when they want to work. Hearing that come out her mouth dint surprise me but it still stung. My partner told her right there any then she was wrong. He got me out of the room and we spent the remaining of the day at my apartment. He apologize several times for her words, and upon him coming home she told him maybe I should stop being so sensitive, that the world didn’t revolve around me. My partner and her got into an argument and it ended with her saying that I was changing him.
My dad had a lot to show for. He had love, he worked and built a home I was fortunate to grow up in from birth to now, he gave happiness to both my mother and my sibling and I. Maybe I was too sensitive, going through lots of emotions, but I remember I brought this up to my girlfriends and the horrified look on their faces was enough to tell me this wasn’t okay by no means. Me being stupid, I tried to put it past me. After all. I was going through so many things in that moment, I didn’t harp long on it. However, now I sit here and realize that wasn’t okay.
Currently, my partner no longer has a relationship with his mother. He has opened up recently and has shared a lot about his childhood; and I realized this woman hurts and projects so much onto people it makes sense why the only people she hangs around, drinks with, parties with are FIL’s family. Her own father died 2 years prior to mine, and when i got to find out the actual background story about him it makes sense why she tried to hurt me. According to my partner and FIL who privately shared this with me, her father was a bum. He was a con artist, and flew under the radar for decades to avoid working while collecting disability. He couch surfed for majority of her childhood, while her mother worked 2 jobs and they slept on the floor of people apartments. He made no effort getting up and working. When he died, he died being passed around like a hot potato figuring out who will take care of him. All was left was this “important” watch, which was later proven to be a fake. She never told me any of this (not that it was my business) and I don’t know what prompted FIL to share that with me without her knowledge, but it puts a lot into perspective.
The days prior to my father’s death she took it upon herself to call my mother and to tell her how offended she felt that they couldn’t come to visit him. My father was not allowing ANY visitors due to his heavy medications he was on and him wanting people to remember him when he was healthy and strong. He just didn’t want anyone’s memory of him to be that. He apologize with what little voice he had and told them he didn’t want their first impression of him to be like this. He died a few days later, and MIL held that grudge over me. She told me “don’t expect us to come to the funeral” just like that, and due to my partner graduating the same day as the burial he was in another state at the time. He was living under their roof and she told him he could not miss it due to family flying in and the massive event she planned (even though he told her he will be leaving right away after he graduated to be with me). She guilted him saying his ill grandmother was even flying in. News flash, no one flew in, no one even knew he graduated, just one of her classic lies and manipulative tactics. The massive event was them taking him to a chain restaurant and then planning vacation for her and FIL to leave the same night while he stayed home to baby sit.
I will never forgive that woman. I know I shouldn’t feel this way, but I literally wish the worst for her. I can’t bring it to myself to not think that. We are now no contact, and it feels great. I’ve seen a different side of my partner, he’s more happier, brighter, and has more ambition without fear.

I'm running Odoo 14 on Ubuntu 22.04, python 3.10.12. I initially had a Python 3 virtual environment, but I encountered a problem: when using Odoo, the service would fail. When I checked the journal logs, it showed a ModuleNotFoundError for Werkzeug, even though pip list indicated it was installed with version 2.0.2. After some research, I found that I needed to downgrade Werkzeug to version 0.16.1, so I created a new Python 3.8 virtual environment because odoo 14 works with python <=3.9 and recommended with werkzeurg 0.16.1,. However, after doing that, the Odoo service continued to fail, but this time with a different error: a ModuleNotFoundError for PyPDF2 version 1.26.0. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
