2024.11.26 09:21 Vyralator Using ThinkPad with off-brand docking station? (Anker 553 USB-C)
I've been struggling with this for days now.
I have an Anker 553 Docking station/KVM switch, which let's me switch my two monitors, mouse and keyboard between two devices. It's connected via HDMI+DB+USB to my Tower (which works fine) and now I want to use the USB-C connection to hook it up to my ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 2 (with Windows) I got from work.
However I can't seem to get it to work. It recognizes the mouse and keyboard input and charges, however doesn't detect the monitors. (Going into Window's display setting and clicking detect display shows that none are detected)
Out of desperation I've tried installing a USB-C docking station driver from Lenovo, but unfortunately that didn't work.
Anker customer support hasn't been helpful and it seems impossible to find any info or documentation on the dock/switch online, even though I thought Anker was a known brand.
So my question is if anyone has any ideas what else I could try or if maybe ThinkPads are just outright incompatible with non-Lenovo docking stations. I naively assumed that there would be some sort of standard protocol to connect monitors over USB-C like this and it would just work out of the box like the Mouse and Keyboard did.

 | I recently propagated two large monstera leaves and have repotted them into the soil with my main plant in an attempt to give it a bit more volume. I waited until the roots had roots before removing them from the water and repotting them but my leaf looks very depressed 😭 I have two grow lights on the plant and a small humidifier. It’s near a window where it gets mild sun. Wondering what could be the issue and if it’s just having a small tantrum and will come right over time? Or if I need to take drastic measures. For reference: I’m on iPhone and use the app but I’ve never tried it on desktop.
What I did since the bot no longer appears in my chats: - manually search for the charactebot (hopefully you remember at least by the pfo, creator, or bio) - even if it has the character not available thing, go to history as you usually would.

Hi, I'm lookong for a way to procedurally import a texture PNG and apply a shadechange to it before handing it on to other resources. Specifically, this is to overcome the limitation of shaders having to be applied to an entire tilemap rather than individual tiles.
I currently have two copies of a tile sheet PNG, one in colour and one in greyscale, that I import into a tileset via CanvasTextures. This is great I can hot swap the texture PNG via code as needed to load different tile sets, but having to manage/build a seperate greyscale image for each tile sprite sheet PNG manually is not ideal, as I already have to maintain normal maps and speculars for each tile set. My tiles overlap, so I cannot stack multiple tilemaps on top of each other with different shaders. And the changes only need to be static, not dynamic (e.g. a palette swap).
For simplicity and scalability, I would like to import a base PNG and modify it via code (shader?) before handover to the Tileset. I had hoped there would be a way to adjust the texture in the CanvasTexture, but this is sadly not the case.
Any ideas?

Side note: i am assuming it could very well just be the dubbed version, as the subbed translates it to "Bye, Good Luck" on Crunchyroll. I don't really know if this was a planned Easter egg or not but either way it was amazing to hear that quote again 🤣
