2024.11.26 11:40 Automatic-Ferret-522 Thinking about leaving a studio
Hi everyone - looking for some advice on if I should leave the second studio I teach at.
I'm a pretty new teacher (just started in the summer) and I teach at the studio I did my YTT at & at a recently opened studio near my apartment. Over the last few months I've started noticing some things at the second studio that's given me some pause to where im considering leaving & I would appreciate everyone's takes on if all this is normal/forgivable or if I should leave.
Okay so a lot of my concerns are with the owner who I understand is under a lot of stress in general on top of running the new studio. I came to notice that they started making passive aggressive statements in the studio group chat & they are beginning to add a lot of requirements from the teachers such as attending zoom meetings, "experience sessions" to level set classes, and attending at least 1 class at the studio per month. Now while I understand the importance & goals of these requirements I do want to point out that they are all unpaid. But the studio owner has been transparent in the fact that the studio still hasn't broken even from when we first opened as the reason why. However, we haven't even been in operation for 6 months yet & from my business education its always been my impression that you can't expect to break even for the first year or two of new business venture. In addition, this studio pays less per class than at my other studio (I get $30/class at this studio while at my primary studio (where I did my YTT) I am compensated $50/class). Some other things have happened like where I am subbing for a 6 am class and everyone last minute cancelled and the owner let me know that I wouldn't be compensated because no one showed up but I could take a piece of merch as compensation. Also, in the last month I believe 3 teachers have left the studio? But really the main thing that has led me to consider leaving was that the owner kind of indirectly publicly shamed & threatened to fire me in the studio group chat?
I won't give too many specifics but pretty much what happened was that they recently let the desk staff go due to costs and it was my first time being at the studio by myself while teaching a class. As a result, I forgot to lock the door when class began & it was the studio owner that discovered that the door was unlocked. After class, the owner talked to me and asked me not to do that again. I apologized and let them know that I would be more diligent about it next time. I went to my car and thought that was the end of it. I was wrong. I looked at my phone and found that they had captured a video of my mistake and aggressively stated in the message that it was not an okay thing to do now or ever and if it ever happened again it would be grounds for immediate termination. I looked at the time stamp and they had sent this while I was still teaching class... before they even had a chance to talk to me. So I publicly apologized and let everyone know what happened to clear the air because another instructor began piling on about how terrible my mistake was. I was/still kind of am mortified. And honestly since that situation happened I haven't been able to connect as easily to my students when I teach class and it's been harder for me to really put my heart into it. Now it's more infrequent for me to find the same joy I used to find whenever teach a class at this studio now.
Now for additional context, teaching yoga is more of a side gig situation for me as I am blessed to have a full time corporate job that pays the bills. I really only teach because I genuinely love yoga & want to help people as they go through their yoga journey as well. I'm not sure if I'm hesitant to leave because of my people pleasing tendencies or if this is considered "normal" and I'm just not used to it because I'm new to this world? I really do love teaching my class at this studio but I'm kind of genuinely afraid of the owner? Let me know what you think.

This is worth celebrating but there is something else that has happened which explains why we are suddenly getting a rise in daily members joining. The "Content Under Review" warning block to this subreddit has finally been lifted. This is something all subreddits go through when they first start. It's run by an algorithm that makes a determination at some point about this subreddit. It prevents search engines and the general public from being able to see this subreddit until it decides it's ok to view the content. It's gone now, which means this subreddit is now viewable to the general public and search engines. If they click on a link, it now brings them straight here and they can access the content without being prevented from seeing it. This has been a major source of frustration that is now gone. Yay! This also means we are getting quite a few new members joining who have low karma and have never used Reddit before. Experienced Redditors please be kind! It is the rise in posts and comments that helped to flip the algorithm. Posts and comments from all individuals are welcome here. Simply because I have to try hard only goes to show that I'm this loser nobody who does not deserve friendship and any sort of positive attention from people. But if I just exist, nobody cares.
I might be friendly and bubbly and always polite but it's like EVERYBODY sees the opposite. But I'm tired. I've always been the one making the first move in everything and it always ends up the same way - they just find someone better and leave. It's not that nobody is capable of loyalty. So many people are, but somehow I can't make them care about ME. They will care about the biggest asshole in the room because they have IT, whatever it is. The X factor that just happens to be randomly given to people by nature. It's not my fucking fault I don't have it. But it certainly means that whatever I do, no matter how hard I work and try to build something, it doesn't matter because people see through me. A charismatic person can lie, cheat and be a total idiot and they will validate them.
I spend my days smiling and cracking jokes, and doing what's expected from me, but once I'm alone in front of my computer I'm a crying mess. Because I was born to be unremarkable.
Does anyone relate?

With certain characters having no anti zoning tools or just struggling to get in it seems kinda ridiculous that certain characters have dumb zoning abilities. Homelander is blatantly annoying because he can stay in the air as long as he wants while zoning and is so high in the air that not even an uppercut can land. Liu kang is another one that unless you take motaro to send his stuff back at him it's hard to close the gap not to mention that most characters don't have true combos with certain kameos. Also motaro can't reflect homelanders lasers??? I hate to say it but the perfect block counter system actually wasn't bad. Ik it's kinda motaros gimmick but for the risk of trying to perfect block a projectile maybe we return it to the damn sender. It would encourage players to actually fight In a fighting game while also still allowing kameos to be useful.

I have noticed that new emotes nowadays have a very concerning pattern of shop appearances. The vast majority of new icon emotes seem to appear for 3 days and then go away for months. The only exceptions to this pattern are emotes tied to skins and Caffeinated, which got removed after 1 day and returned for 3 after getting fixed.
Some emotes have had a second 3 day run, but most were there for 3 days then disappeared into the ether.
I don't like this.

Found this in another post, it worked on PS4 but different.
On PS pick Area99 then spam X until you see that it's looking for a match, quickly hit L1 once, then quickly hit L3 so the store menu to buy CP shows up and quickly pick the 1st one with X button. Go in like if you going to buy them but don't, just go as far as where it shows you the payment info and stay there, you will hear like a counter clicking noise but don't leave the store until you hear the parachute, then back out of the store and quickly remove all MW3 & MW2 weapons including primary, pistols and meele. Play the full match, when it ends just leave match and problem fixed.
