Wednesday nov 13th, my foot was ran over at work. Immediately I didn’t think i sustained any injury. A couple hours later I was unable to stand on it, so I went to urgent care. I ended up finding out I broke my foot. The reason i didn’t go to the ER is because I thought i had MAYBE sprained it, but I didn’t suspect a broken bone. The urgent care dr sent out a referral to the orthopedic dr, and said that they would call me to schedule an appointment. 2 days later, still no call, so I told the urgent care dr that. They sent out another referral. Monday (nov 18) came, still no call. The urgent care dr told me they would call the orthopedic dr then call me to let me know what’s going on. They never called me. Tuesday came, still no call. So i call the urgent care and i explain to the front desk lady my situation. She said sorry that dr is not here right now, i cant help you, but i will write a note on your chart. Wednesday came, still no call. I call the orthopedic dr myself to see what’s going on. I talk to the front desk lady and she said that they have been waiting on the urgent care dr to sent them workers comp paperwork, a C-9 to be exact. From my understanding, this form authorizes any visits under workers comp. So this whole time it was the urgent care they were waiting on, not the orthopedic dr. So thursday came, still nothing, I call the urgent care and tell them the orthopedic dr needs that form. Lady says ok, well the dr won’t be here until saturday. Monday (nov 25) came, still no call. It is now tuesday. 2 weeks after breaking my foot and i still have yet to see an orthopedic dr. (FYI, the broken bone is called the Talus, according to google it is a severe injury). What do i do? It feels like i am being denied medical care. What if my foot doesn’t heal right? What if i needed surgery? Should I start over and go to a different urgent care to get a referral? Should I contact an attorney? Plus how long will it take to get an appointment with the orthopedic dr? I’m just really worried because I would like an actual treatment plan for this broken foot.

i’m looking for some flat back earrings but unsure where to buy them.. i usually get earrings from primark or h&m but neither have flat backs. i occasionally look in claire’s but as they’re more expensive i tend to avoid them, i don’t know if they do flat backs but i’ve never seen any in there
i have three lobe piercings in both ears and would like to switch them to flat backs. where’s the best place in the uk to get some ? i was thinking amazon but not sure how the quality would be on these

Okay, hear me out. What if the Sea Peoples who wrecked everything during the Bronze Age Collapse were actually these Tyrrhenic-speaking peoples from southern Gaul and northern Italy? Like, what if they got pushed out by Indo-Europeans (Celtic or Italic groups) moving in, and they just packed up and said, “Fine, we’re outta here,” and went on this massive rampage across the Mediterranean?
Here’s a background for my theory, the Philistines, one of the famous Sea Peoples tribes, might’ve been ancestors of modern Palestinians. Egyptian records, like those of Ramses III, mention the Peleset, a Sea People tribe captured during their invasions and resettled in southern Canaan as prisoners or mercenaries. Over time, these Peleset escaped Egyptian control, settled down, and became the Philistines, bringing Aegean and Mediterranean influences with them.
If the Sea Peoples were displaced Tyrrhenic or Old European groups, this means modern Palestinians could carry some of their legacy, blending it with the Semitic cultures of the Levant. It’s a wild idea that connects today’s Palestinians to one of the last remnants of pre-Indo-European peoples from the Mediterranean.
- Sea Peoples and the Bronze Age Collapse So, the Sea Peoples were this mix of groups that went around destabilizing everyone in the Eastern Mediterranean around 1200 BCE—Mycenaeans, Hittites, Egyptians, you name it. And nobody really knows where they came from. Most theories say maybe the Aegean, Anatolia, or somewhere in the western Mediterranean.
- What If the Sea Peoples Were Tyrrhenic? Okay, so what if the Sea Peoples were from southern Gaul, northern Italy, or Iberia, and they were these Tyrrhenic-speaking peoples who got kicked out by the Indo-Europeans? There’s a few things that could support this:
B. Philistine Culture The Philistines had pottery, burial customs, and other cultural markers that look Aegean-ish, but they could just as easily be from Tyrrhenic regions. I mean, it makes sense—they were moving along trade routes and might’ve been carrying their culture with them from the western Mediterranean.
C. Why They Left Why would they go? Well, Indo-Europeans were probably taking their land and resources. Plus, throw in some Bronze Age climate disasters or economic collapses, and yeah, these groups were like, “We’re out.” But instead of settling quietly somewhere, they went full apocalypse mode and tore through the Eastern Mediterranean.
- Old Europeans in the Levant If the Sea Peoples had Tyrrhenic roots, then the Philistines might’ve been part of this displaced group. Over time, they would’ve mixed with the local Semitic populations, but their origins could tie them to pre-Indo-European Europe. That’s why their early culture looks so different from the Semitic Canaanites. And if this is true, then modern Palestinians might have distant links to these Old European people. That’s nuts to think about.
- What About Lemnos? Now, here’s another twist—what if some of these Tyrrhenic folks came from the Aegean Islands too, like Lemnos? Maybe they got pushed out of mainland Greece by the early Greeks (proto-Hellenes) and had to island-hop their way out. Some stayed behind on Lemnos, which would explain why Lemnian is so similar to Etruscan. It’s like they left a linguistic footprint there before the rest of them continued eastward as part of the Sea Peoples.
- Philistines and Lemnians as Survivors So basically, while some of these Tyrrhenic-speaking folks settled down in Lemnos and became the Lemnians, others kept going and ended up as the Philistines in Canaan. Both groups survived for a while but eventually got absorbed into the dominant cultures around them. It’s like two sides of the same displaced coin—one in the Aegean, the other in the Levant.
- What This Means If this theory holds water, then: The Sea Peoples weren’t just random invaders—they were one last big migration of these old pre-Indo-European groups trying to survive. The Philistines, Lemnians, and even Etruscans might all share a common origin as part of this Tyrrhenic family.
- What We’d Need to Prove It To really nail this down, we’d need: More linguistic comparisons between Etruscan, Lemnian, and reconstructed Philistine languages to see if they share roots.
Archaeological evidence of shared artifacts, trade, or migration patterns between the Tyrrhenic world, Lemnos, and the Levant.
So yeah, maybe the Sea Peoples weren’t just pirates or displaced Mycenaeans. Maybe they were this huge wave of Old Europeans trying to make their way in a collapsing world, leaving traces of their culture everywhere from Lemnos to Palestine. It’s a wild theory, but it kinda fits, doesn’t it?

Uma vez, jogando de zagueiro, uma bola sobrou na pequena área, e minha intenção era isolar. Mas, de alguma maneira que eu não sei explicar, eu enchi o pé e fiz um gol contra inexplicável. A intenção era chutar de bico, mas acabei dando uma trivela improvável e a bola curvou em direção ao gol. Um tiro. Foi algo tão bizarro que nem fui xingado. A galera só olhou pra mim como quem diz "que porra é essa man?".
Como jogador ruim, já fiz todo tipo de besteira jogando, mas nunca consegui superar essa.
