I work in the Business Bay area, and our HOffice Manager is on a two-week leave, so I have to substitute for her in managing the office.
Lately, there have been promoters knocking on the door to promote something, and there’s no issue with that. The problem is that some people you don’t even know will just open the door without permission. Some even enter the office uninvited and go to the common area without asking.
Sometimes, even if you’re standing right in front of the door, they will force themselves inside. It’s really frustrating.
That doesn’t include the weird people who act strangely or, worse, sexually harass our IT guy by asking him to “come with me” and holding his hand in a malicious way (both of them are men). It’s a huge culture shock for me because, in my country, people knock on the door and won’t enter unless given permission.
Here, they don’t even ask; they just come inside. It’s incredibly frustrating.
Bonus: At the gym, people don’t show respect. You could just start using a machine, and even if you’re standing right there, they’ll still ask if you’re using it. There’s no issue with alternating, but some people seem to force you to vacate the machine. Of course, I won't, but that creates unnecessary tension.
I’m not being r*cist, but for some reason, it’s usually the same nationalities that do this. If this happened in my home country, I might have p*nched them already, but I don’t want to risk being deported. That’s why I need to stay extra patient and avoid losing my cool. LMAO

Seems like a pretty silly statement to make when there's a very politically and economically vulnerable dependency. I'd imagine a more neutral claim is that 'asset ownership' or even 'net worth' to account for liabilities like debt is the best predictor. And then it's pretty tautological.

Yesterday i got courage and pulled the trigger on the Case Cotton harvester.
Today I’ve started picking my big fields full of cotton.
Everything was fine until the first bale:
1st problem: The worker stops after the harvester spits out the bale, he doesn’t continue.
2nd problem: in 140h of gameplay I had 2 crashes. After I’ve started harvesting the cotton, I had 3 more in the space of 3h.
I’m going to park a half a million euro harvester because of this. I could harvest it myself, but it’s 30min each bale and my fields give a total of 6.
I hope this week we get a patch fixing this kind of stuff.

I’m really confused by estoppel.
On a hypo, I said a plaintiff could seek damages under the doctrine of estoppel (P gave no consideration, but acted on D’s promise to his detriment). I emphasized since these were only reliance damages (vs unreasonably enriching P), this was in line with the ‘estoppel is a shield, not a sword’ principle.
Prof said my answer was incorrect, and I was using it as a sword to get damages.
My friend told me I was wrong because a P using estoppel as a cause of action is a sword …. Only defendants can use it as a defense, as a ‘shield’. But I don’t understand how that it ??? In what case would a D ‘estop’ P? I thought my answer was correct? Please help
