Job Summary: IMP Aerospace & Defence is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Analyst to oversee the availability, security, performance, and overall health of our network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and promptly addressing any issues to ensure uninterrupted network operations while planning future improvements to our network.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform network design and capacity planning. - Conduct research on network products, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. - Provide 2nd level technical support to users concerning network system operations. - Diagnose problems with network equipment. - Configure and program network equipment. - Maintain and upgrade network equipment. - Develop and maintain secure segmentation of our network. - Manage network cyber security tools such as micro-segmentation. - Liaise with corporate team on network aspects of cyber security. - Maintain network documentation, including maps, diagrams, processes, and procedures. - Identify and implement new enterprise networking-related IT technologies that meet business requirements. - Serve as the networking subject matter expert for IT Coordinators. - Create documentation and train the IT team on how to use and maintain new technologies. - Manage risks for enterprise networking IT infrastructure, ensuring uptime to meet business needs. - Manage incidents and requests affecting network-related systems. - Support and monitor existing infrastructure, perform preventative maintenance work, backup, and other regular support activities as required. - Liaise with external suppliers and support agencies for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant enterprise systems. - Ensure that all work and changes minimize disruption to existing business use. - Build effective working relationships with business line personnel, supporting IT groups, suppliers, and customers. - Provide after-hours support as required. - Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications: - Degree in Computer Science, Diploma in IT System Administration, or equivalent experience. - Minimum of 7 years of experience working in enterprise IT infrastructure. - Understanding of networking technologies and operations. - Good written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment. - Ability to problem-solve complex IT issues. - Advanced knowledge of VMware and Windows Server. - Experience with Windows AD Domain Controller. - Knowledge of NIST cyber security framework or similar is an asset. - Excellent customer service skills, striving to improve services to meet customer and business needs. - Demonstrates initiative in looking for root causes. - Commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies. - Participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area. - Ability to pass and maintain Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Transport Canada security clearances. - Eligibility to meet requirements for the U.S. International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). - Ability to pass and maintain a Level II (Secret) security clearance with the Department of National Defense.

Ok, so I have a standard BA Amex card which I get a companion voucher form every membership year. However as these are only economy now I was thinking of getting the Premium Plus card for access to Business class. This is the only reason I would upgrade, but paying the £300 a year fee is annoying.
So, does this make sense... If I was to carry on spending on my normal card, up until i'm nearly at the threshold for a companion voucher, then upgrade to a premium card and carry on spending a little more, I could then get my business class companion voucher, use it and downgrade again?
I checked with Amex and what i've spent already would be transferred to the premium card.
