To give some background I'm an 18 y/o and I want to take advantage of the marine corps and all the opportunities it gives to me, but I want to also have experiences that you only get once in a lifetime by joining the corps. I just got my program back from my recruiter and I got intel and planning I have never liked being at a desk or making power points but I do like the idea of making rank and making money and having some sort of applicable skill for after the corps. I've been thinking of switch my program to UH for the experience of infantry I'm not praying for combat by any means more of the "boots on ground" feeling and having a sense that I'm actually in it, but I know this doesn't have the same opportunity of civ life and ranking up as intel does. I don't have alot of vets in my life especially more recent ones that understand the system. If I go infantry is it possible to lat move to a better field or even possible intel? Just need some sort of insight. Thank you

Hello! I did think I want a child but after talking to several parents, I'm starting to change my mind.
It seems that it's almost unanimously agreed that pregnancy, childbirth, the newborn stage, and the toddler stage are all absolutely awful, and I'm genuinely wracking my brain trying to think of any positive things I've heard parents say about having a child. The good things I've heard is feeling the baby kicks and...that's about it.
Does parenting become enjoyable after the child starts school? Or is every stage of parenting horrible? If so, why do people even have more than one child?

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice, I'm looking at getting a mortgage for a property of around £110,000. My worry is my age (63) and the fact that I have default in my credit score. I have £30,000 deposit, will be getting another £30,000 when my late father's house is sold, then when I retire (in 3 years) I will be able to pay off another £20,000, the debt that caused the DF on my credit score is fully paid and I'm now in no debt at all. I guess I'm just asking people with experience what they think my chances are of being granted a mortgage. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
