2024.11.26 17:30 StaticSystemShock Has anyone got MW2 Pentium Edition specifically to work on Windows 11 ?
It has been 25 years since I bought the game and I still feel like Pentium Edition is the best version. It ran at 640x480 unlike DOS version which ran at half of that. I also still prefer the gritty look of a software renderer and I kinda don't want to use Glide emulator. However, interwebs is full of tutorials for regular DOS version with Glide, but I can't seem to find anything useful for Pentium Edition. So many games got community patches and whole games rewritten, but not MW2 Pentium Edition. I was hoping GOG would do something, but seeing how in all these years nothing materialized in Mechwarrior world, I don't feel hopeful anymore. But I'd really like to pilot the old Mechs once more.

First post here.
I've been married to my husband for 14 years. 6 years ago after the birth of our second child, I was diagnosed with a degenerative autoimmune disease. Although my condition hasn't progressed much, I'm left with chronic pain and debilitating fatigue.
Last week I had two medical procedures done, one where I was sedated and another I was put to sleep. These conditions are not related to each other. A few days afterwards, I was talking about my health, and my husband said it was exhausting hearing about my health issues, and its all I ever talk about. It felt like a gut punch. I told him to try living in a body like this, then I told him I wouldn't talk about it anymore. Now we've barely spoken since. We don't hug, kiss, say "I love you". I feel so alone.
The thing is, 75% of the time he talks about the war in Ukraine or politics. He never asks how I'm doing or feeling, although my symptoms change daily. So when I tell him about what's going on in my body, it's because I've been struggling. Instead of helping me when I'm ill, he basically ignores me. He's rude and short-tempered when I need him the most. I've tried having conversations about this, but he flips it back on me saying he can never tell me how he feels without me getting upset. When in reality it's exactly the opposite.
I called the local women's shelter to ask for resources (how to find housing, etc.), but I'm not even sure how to proceed. Because of my disability I'm unable to work. I'm waiting to see if I'm approved for disability payments, but I just don't know how to provide for myself and my kids.
I'm so tired. I don't recognize myself anymore. I have no joy. And I'm trapped. I can't see a way out. I don't have much family around here, and next to no friends (he always criticized my friends). I feel so alone and I don't know how to proceed.
I'm not sure what I expect from posting this. I guess I just needed to put these words out into the void.

tl;dr: I’m overthinking Christmas gifts for my LDS neighbors.
Hi All,
In my previous post I shared with you, my Halloween experience with my LDS neighbors.
Now we’re preparing for Christmas and I want to get their little girls gifts.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but LDS celebrate Christmas right?
For years I thought that this family were Jehovah’s Witnesses as they never decorate for the holidays. They’re essentially the only house on the street that goes dark for Halloween and Christmas.
Today I’d like some opinions on the gifts I have planned.
I believe the safest gifts are books, so I chose a book based on a cartoon that the older girl always talks to me about, and for the younger girl I chose a book about a Disney princess. This is where I’m getting second thoughts.
I read the story and it’s the classic Disney tale of leaving home and finding your true purpose. I’m not sure how that would be received by the parents as they seem to be in the process of, for lack of a better word, indoctrinating the girls, who are only 2 and 3 years old.
A few of the many reasons why I believe this.
• The older daughter had very long hair. After seeing how much she loved it, one day her hair was cut extremely short and in a very rough way. I still remember masking the little scream I let out when I saw it initially. The mother claimed that the kid asked for the haircut. That’s very hard for me to believe after seeing how much she loved her long hair.
• They plan on homeschooling them, as we don’t live in a LDS stronghold.
• The older girl talks about the Bible way more now than she did when she first started chatting with us.
• We gifted them Barbies before but we have never seen them with it. Instead they play with these weird looking Black fetuses. They’re the creepiest little things. I’m not even sure why anyone would own these things, especially non-Black people.
With that said, what are the LDS views on Disney princesses? Are these gifts as safe as I initially believed?
I know I’m overthinking this a bit. It seems like anything that involves these LDS neighbors creates anxiety. When we had them over for dinner, they read every drink label for caffeine. I wasn’t aware of the restrictions at the time and wondered why they read ingredients so much. Since then I’ve binged a lot of Mormon content and that has put my overthinking into overdrive.
Anyway, thanks for whatever help you are able to provide.

The game is not perfect but all this whining about the Diner seems excessive. Yes its a long ladder but the rewards are actually pretty good. about 6000 tokens worth of cosmic gold borders, 2400 gold worth of metallic gold borders, plus a new card and sweet variant.
They aren't just going to hand that over.
It felt like a grind from nothing up to 5 million but after the 5 million bubs mark I made it to 500 Million in the same day. As more of us make it more people will donate their bubs but all the negativity seems way out of whack. They could have made it easier but then they would have lowered the rewards. Everyone here needs to take a chill pill and enjoy the game for what it is, a game. Of course they are going to have ways for people with disposal income to take an easy route but it is definitely not impossible to 100% the diner and conquest and infinite as a F2P player.
TLDR: Chill out on the hate. Diner isn't hard it just takes time

I bought a Comic byte Immortal Headphone 4 months ago, after receiving the product the first thing I Noticed that Bluetooth mode has significant delay in audio, so I contacted customer support for warranty query and after 1 week of conversation they arranged a reverse pickup and took the headphone and after a FULL MONTH I received my headphone and I see some marks which tell that did open the headphone for repairs but the problem did solved and I did not wanted to go again for 1 more month of worthless wait so I just try to use the WIFI mode on headphone.
and now from several day headphone right side is getting low volume, and I raised a ticket on website, but they are just closing the ticket for no reason. I raised ticket up to 3 times till now and they are just closing ticket. I am so frustrated and angry at them; I won't buy Comic byte product again.
