Hey this is CFI/CFII in Florida area. I just wanna ask fellow cfis how many hours y’all have, now I’m getting around 50-80 per month based on weather. Could you guys let me know the region you work and if it’s flight school or private, part 61 flight school or part 141 collegiate flight school? TIA :)

 | This all happened just before Christmas 2017. I posted this story a few days ago under a “Fucked around & found out” thread posted to AskReddit. Am now reposting with pictures since I just found this group. So the story is, my friend & I were leaving a mutual friend’s house & found a stray cat. The people who had been sheltering him had just thrown him out because he sprayed. My friend & I agreed to split the duty of caring for him: She would take him for the time being & I would get him fixed & take care of him while he recovered, maybe permanently. Well, we got him fixed, and when he was picked up, the vet at the humane society gave very specific instructions to keep him calm, quiet and not stress him out, because his incision was only glued & he would be in pain. My family had taken in stray cats before & we had dealt with plenty of cats post-sterilization, so of course we knew what we were doing, right? We took him home, introduced him to our two elderly (and not welcoming) cats & let him have roam of the house. Three days after we took him in, I woke up to my mom yelling at him & frantically calling for me to come out to the living room, because he was freaking out & had attacked her. I made it to the scene & he instantly pounced on me, tearing up my knee. Much blood was shed. I went to the ER for antibiotics, Mom ended up sick with Cat Scratch disease, and the cat went back to live with my friend (the only human he actually ended up liking). 2024.11.26 19:13 Slight_Ad840 Got out of an abusive relationship & these are the last things that need to GO! Any ideas?
 | Trigger warning.. never had to do that for my own self before - kinda weird. To make a long & sad story short..I was in an abusive relationship (mentally, emotionally and physically) where he stripped me of my self worth, identity and sanity. He was a master at manipulation and I ended up harming myself. I..It got really bad, my mental state. I was thinking in fight or flight for over 6 months. How I understand this happened is I got cornered and stood over (as well as slapped) in my kitchen on Halloween night while my ex and I were supposed to be carving pumpkins. May I point out too this behavior is NOT and was NOT normal for me. I truly blacked out, I don’t remember doing this to myself… and really freaked myself out and to be quite honest, scared myself a lot. I have been receiving therapy. Since being out of said relationship for over a year (go me!) the disbelief that I would have ever done something like this to myself grows daily. My family doesn’t know, and I’d like to wear short sleeves without seeing that night ever again on my arm. Any and all ideas welcome! Please tattoo artists, help me forget this day! (Original tat is about 5 1/2 - 6 inches long.) I’ve messed around with some ideas but the way the scars go makes it hard for me to see anything that “flows”. I don't have Social Anxiety if I can do something "good". For example, there was an Amazon package, that was lying around in the hallway of my apartment complex. After a few days, I checked it and it was the wrong address. It was for the apartment complex on the other side of the street. So I took the package and brought it to the right person. The person was very happy, because she already reported the package as missing and she got told the package was delivered.
Something like that would normally be a very big task for me! Talking to a stranger, in a place I don't know. But I could do it, because I didn't want anything from anyone and I could do something "good" for someone else. (I hope this makes sense, my english frustrates me sometimes.)
But if I have to ask for something, it's sometimes very hard (or impossible) for me to do. Even small things, like asking for direction. Or asking for an appointment via phone.

I put in an offer for a house. The sellers agent wanted to speak to my lender, which is fine. My lender is confident my loan will be approved so he told her 0 days financial contingency and we could close in two weeks. The sellers lender hasn't been very responsive and my agent has tried to reach out multiple times to find out if other offers were put in. Two days later, she finally responded saying there were other offers received. She also said that the house may not appraise for the amount I'm offering and would I be willing to pay more in closing cost if the house appraised for less. My agent told her I have room for negotiation, but she did not tell her how much more I was willing to pay. I guess what's frustrating for me is the sellers lack of communication (taking 2+ days to respond to messages) and her not letting us know what they decided. Why won't sellers agents just let you know upfront if they don't want to accept the offer?!
