I (23F) go to my local grocery store in my town every Tuesday and buy 4 bottles of wine (don’t judge) for me to drink throughout the week. I consider myself a pretty good actor so I replied “yeah me and the girls have a margarita night every Tuesday, it’s a blast”. So now every Tuesday after work i go and buy 4 bottles of wine and she’s always working so i see her every week and we talk about my made up margarita girls night. Honestly I didn’t think much of it and just thought of it as an improv exercise. This went on for about 6 weeks. Then I went on a 2 week vacation with my boyfriend so I didn’t buy wine those weeks so I didn’t see Sarah. After I get back from vacation, I go to buy my wine and of course Sarah was working. She confided in me that her husband cheated on her. They were married for 11 years, and he cheated with a women at his work. I didn’t know what to say, but I told her how sorry I was. We kept talking and she half jokingly said “you have any extra room at your girls night. I could really use something to take my mind off things”. Now I was really panicing because there is no girls night. I had just made everything up so I said “sorry not tonight it’s my friends birthday and she wants to keep it small”. It was the first thing that popped into my head and I felt awful but there was no going back now. She looked really disappointed and I quickly got out of there. Now I feel like shit but I didn’t know what else to do since the margarita girls nights were never real. AITA???

Would you fine folks standby this monitor or recommend something else? Fairly price agnostic as this is a biz expense.
