My wife (24) and I (29) have been married for three years, and it hasn’t been an easy journey. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but we’re blessed with a beautiful 10-month-old baby girl who lights up our lives.
We live in a tiny community, and I make a living working in the fields, planting, harvesting, and selling what little we can grow. It’s humble, low-paying work, but it’s honest. Some days, it feels like just keeping food on the table is a victory.
Since the day we met, my wife has struggled with sharp pain in her left leg. Over time, the pain got worse, and she began to limp, almost unnoticeable, but it's there. Getting medical care in our area is a battle of its own. To see a doctor at a public hospital, you first have to register at a health post and then wait for months. By the time she was finally seen, her condition had worsened, and the journey to healing feels daunting.
The doctor diagnosed her with pubalgia, a painful condition that needs multiple tests: MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, and consultations with specialists to determine the right treatment (surgery). Meanwhile, her pain hasn’t just taken a physical toll; it’s also stolen something from our relationship.
Our sex life has all but disappeared. We’ve tried, but every attempt only leaves her in more pain, especially near her groin. It’s heartbreaking to see her frustration and sadness. Even when her leg doesn’t hurt, she’s too anxious and tense to relax, which causes more pain during intimacy. I’ve stopped trying because I don’t want to hurt her or make her feel worse, but I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been difficult. Also, she’s not into oral sex anymore, she used to be, but now she’s developed a kind of germaphobia after watching videos on the internet, even though I am a hygienic person. I guess it’s not for everyone, right? I don’t know if I should start masturbating... I’ve done it in the past but stopped because of my religion.
There is hope, though. The doctor says her condition can be treated, and that feels like a light at the end of the tunnel. But getting there is overwhelming. From everything I’ve researched, the total cost for her treatment will be around $5,000. Right now, every cent we earn goes to basic needs likke food, diapers, and keeping our family afloat.
We started an online fundraiser two months ago, and so far, we’ve raised $300. So it will take some time to get the treatment.
I know! "Get a better job" is the solution. I'm trying. I'm improving my skills. I don't want to move right now to a city with better opportunities because it means spending more now.
I think I just wanted to vent. I have a lot on my plate. Thank you.

2024.11.26 20:19 30thCentury Lafayette Parish Jury Duty Scam Call, Fake Bench Warrants for Arrest
Sharing for visibility.
I just got 2 calls back to back from a 337 number. The first call I ignored, but answered the second*. The guy on the other end claimed to be Capt. Steven Davenport with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department. He mentioned I'd missed jury duty on November 4th, and there were 2 bench warrants for my arrest. He read off a couple citation numbers (FTA22CEF1429 and COC22CE518), and asked how soon I'd be able to come to the sheriff's department on Main St. to turn myself in. He also claimed that I'd signed an affidavit on August 24th that I'd appear for jury duty.
After he asked how soon could I turn myself in, I'm guessing he was about to get to the part of me paying to stay out of jail, but as I started asking him more detailed questions, he hung up on me.
I immediately called the LPSO and told them. And they confirmed it was a scam and they don't issue warrants for missing jury duty.
Afterwards, I Googled his name and "jury duty," and a few search results came up with it being a scam in other parishes. So I figured I'd share here, including the citation numbers, and hopefully save someone from getting scammed.
*One of my kids was out shopping with a family member at the time, so I thought it might have something to do with them and that's why I answered the phone. And when I heard "sheriff's department," my heart dropped.

Hello everyone. I am not sure if this is the right subreddit for this kind of search but I am looking for a movie that traumatised my friend when they were a child. Through therapy they recently discovered this memory of a a woman (maybe a child) cutting her arms open in a bathroom. My friend thinks they were about 6 years old when they saw it so it must've aired in german/austrian television around 2006. They think that it was a german movie but I am not sure about that.
