28F, 185lbs, 5’1”, only med is plaquenil for RA, other than that I just take vitamins.
I was recently positive for strep in early November. I work in a preschool so I understand it comes with the territory. I finished the full course of amoxicillin and cleaned my entire home & car top to bottom, changed toothbrushes, washed water bottles, threw out some makeup and chapsticks, just to make sure I would not get reinfected from myself.
Fast forward to the end of November, I started feeling very mucusy in my throat, got the cobblestone throat and then developed some pretty severe sinus congestion and post nasal drip along with bright yellow/greenish mucus out of my nose. During the night, I developed a 100.9 fever, high heart rate, chills, horrible sore throat. The next day I went into urgent care with the mindset that I had strep, I only get fevers in my adult life when I had strep and high heart rate as well. 99.5 temperature at urgent care. Did a rapid and it was negative. Did a culture and it hasn’t come back yet.
The next day, I went to my primary care doctor instead of urgent care since I developed white spots on both my tonsils. My sinus inflammation got worse with a lot more mucus, congestion, clogged ears, etc. I explained that I’ve only ever gotten white spots with strep, which was why I was so concerned with strep. My doctor did a very thorough rapid and culture. Rapid came back negative.
It hurts badly to swallow, visible white spots on both tonsils. Is it possible this is completely viral? Are two negative rapid tests enough to completely rule out strep?
I very much do NOT want to take any antibiotics if I don’t have to. However, I am nervous I’m missing something and could develop complications if this actually is strep.

There's this man from the reception that's sociable with everyone and has a admirable hands-on, proactive attitude (helpful with a smile). This week, after three months on the job, I somehow save him from a precarious position in which I relieve him of a workload of administration and responsibility. Upon which he spontaneously claims "I love you" and touches my shoulder briefly upon leaving.

Apologies if a lot of this doesn't make sense. You'll find out while you read.
I'm 17 and I've been dealing with fatty liver since I was 9 years old. It was brought on by some ADHD medication my pediatrician gave me.
I did the necessary things, eat healthy, do excercise, then it all went away. Until COVID hit. I started to gain weight from stress and stress eating. I was around 190lbs when I was 14 now I'm around 316lbs, even though I'm quite active. So I get the diagnosis that I have fatty liver again.
But now there's a big factor that comes with fatty liver, brain fog from not getting enough oxygen to my brain. It's now increasingly difficult to wake up, go to school and stay awake. I will often pass out momentarily while walking because of this (Not long enough to stop standing). It also affects a lot of brain processes, I often will slur my speech and texting never makes sense (I'm not having a stroke I know this)
To rectify this, I need to lose about 100lbs in under 6 months or else I will die, have a heart attack, or go brain dead. But yet another problem arises, due to the brain fog I have absolutely no energy to work out. It's not that I don't want to, it's that I can't. I cannot muster the energy to work out. It never comes to me.
Anyway to the main part, nobody I know is taking this like the serious problem it is. The only person who has a fragment is obviously my mother but that's just my mom, she has to care. The main problem is my friends. They tell me that I'll be fine when I'm literally dying and they just make jokes about it or poke fun at my weight. I can't help it. How the hell do I explain to them that I'm actually sick and it's a serious problem.

 | Very frequently referred to by the epithets “Agesanderos” “Stalwart” Pluton “The wealthy one” “Klymenos” “Gloomy” “Eubouleus” “good council” “Polydegmon” “He who hosts many guests” and Serapis “Osiris” “King of the deep” the name Hades means “The Unseen” which as you are going to find out is very appropriate on multiple levels. Mythologically it references his boon, the helm of darkness which grants the wearer invisibility and which the Theogony mentions made him an extremely formidable warrior during the Titanomachy. Being an overall chill dude Hades occasionally lent this helmet to others like Hermes, Athena and the hero Perseus but it was definitely most associated with him. Socially Hades fulfills his name “The Unseen” by being a god who was not very often spoken or written about. Not because he wasn’t important but because in general the underworld and its gods freaked the Ancient Greeks out so they avoided thinking, speaking, writing, or drawing about them whenever possible for fear of getting their attention. It’s why most literally references to Hades are either dry and utterly inoffensive like the theogony, sparse and oblique like the Iliad and the odyssey, or extremely reverent like the Homeric hymns or written by someone with no fear of the gods like Ovid. The fact that Hades is a background character in so many myths despite this attitude suggests that there may have been an even larger collection of myths about him specifically that did not survive to this day due to not enough of them being written down to run the gauntlet of the ages. Finally historically the meaning of Hades name is appropriate because we don’t know where he came from. Hades is not a Mycenaean god, his name nor any of his major epithets appear in Mycenaean records and that’s because his role as king of the underworld was already being filled…. by Poseidon. Okay technically not Poseidon, but as I briefly eluded to in both the Demeter and Hera posts the King of the Mycenaean pantheon was an entity most frequently referred to as Wannax Enesidaon but also referred to variously as Po-Se-Da-O and Di-We aka Poseidon and Zeus. This deity most closely resembled the classical Poseidon but also possessed characteristics of both Zeus and Hades. He was married to Mycenaean Demeter or the possible composite of Demeter and Hera Dione, was the father of Persephone, and ruled the sea, sky, and underworld which in classical mythology was split between the three brothers just as the god himself was split into those three brothers. Seeing as Hades himself didn’t exist as his own entity pre dark age his earliest recorded reference is the Iliad but he is not a character in that poem and is only mentioned indirectly and in the third person suggesting that he was still not a well established god with a universally accepted characterization at that point. Or it could be, like I mentioned before, that the Greeks really just didn’t like talking about him. The Homeric Hymns and the Theogony both have quite a bit to say about Hades but it’s important to note that while they were both written contemporaneously to the Iliad the Iliad itself is based on oral traditions that are much older, dating at minimum to the beginning of the dark age if not the Mycenaean period, so it’s possible in that time period more characterization arose for Hades. However, Hades does not owe his entire existence to the Mycenaean deity Wannax Enesidaon, while key roles and traits peeled off to inform Hades he also took traits from another Mycenaean god. Hades core myth, the abduction of Persephone has roots in Mycenaean mythology, as the cult of the eluesinian mysteries which reenacted the abduction dates to the Mycenaean period and some even argue all the way back to the Minoan era. But for obvious reasons Wannax Enesidaon cannot be the abductor, even if he was the king of the underworld. So who abducted Persephone in the Mycenaean version? Well there is no academic consensus, but I would put my money on Dionysus. As I mentioned in my post on my Dionysus mini if you think Dionysus is just the goofy god of wine and parties you are dead wrong, Dionysus is the god of madness, death, ritual sacrifice and rebirth. He is also a god of weddings and of grooms with one interpretation of his name being “the god groom”. That all tracks with a figure who both shares enough associations with Hades to fill his role in a myth and has associations with marriage and weddings baked into him that might indicate he may have been deeply tied to a myth of abduction and forcible marriage. Whether Persephone was abducted from the underworld to the surface, as Dionysus has long had associations with nature and the wilds, or perhaps he existed deeper in the underworld and he pulled her down is probably impossible to say. However, I think it’s important to note that this conjecture on my part is not without merit, there are a multitude of connections between Hades and Dionysus. I’ve already mentioned how in the Orphic tradition Dionysus is the son of Hades and Persephone but it goes much further than that. 6th century pre Socratic philosopher Heraclitus stated that Hades and Dionysus were actually just the same deity. The Homeric Hymn to Demeter makes a reference to Demeter refusing to drink wine after Persephone’s abduction as it would be unjust to consume “the gift of the abductor” and a statue of Dionysus found at Eleusis is inscribed “Dark haired Hades” and an archaic era vase depicts Dionysus in the stock wedding pose grapes and Thyrsus in hand, with Persephone. Likewise Hades and Dionysus share a number epithets, the aforementioned Eubouleus as well as Chthonic “underworld”, Eucilius “glorious”. Playwrights Aeschylus and Euripides conflate the Thracian deity Zagreus (ever heard of him) with Hades when Zagreus had long been understood by the ancient Greeks to just be Dionysus, enough so that references to Zagreus being Dionysus can be found dating to the Mycenaens. Basically Hades originated as entity by collecting disparate underworld traits from the Mycenaean versions of Poseidon and Dionysus into one deity for the convenience of keeping all that spooky underworld stuff in one place where they didn’t have to think about it. As for the mini itself I’m also very proud of this one. In particular I like how the bident turned out. I had an idea to use a kitbashed version of the mastiff head to create the Cerberus pauldron but you can only import one mount per mini regardless of how you resize it so that will have to wait until they fix that to change it. Other than that I’m proud at how many details and references I was able to fit in it. I already own a Willow 360 and a Lansinoh pump from my first. I'm trying to figure out if I can get insurance to cover the replacement parts for my Willow instead of getting the new pump for my May 2025 baby, since they're so expensive, and I'd rather use the Willow anyways. My insurance does partially cover a new Willow, so it seems like they should. However, the support bot they connected me with had no earthly idea what I was talking about and just told me about how they cover a pump.
I'm going to try calling and talking to an actual human, but I was wondering if anyone succeeded at this. I think I could just buy the parts on Black Friday deal and try to submit a claim.
Alternatively, what's a good insurance coverage high capacity wearable pump? My only issue with the Willow was having to empty it mid-session, so 6+ oz per side would be ideal. I have UMR, so there are lots of options, but I didn't notice a high capacity one. I don't need high suction, as I pumped on 1 the entire time last time with all three pumps I tried including the hospital pump.
