First time. 2hrs@137 -> reverse sear cast iron. Could use some advice Some questions for anyone’s insight :
  1. How heavily should I salt when brining ? Picture above was salt brined overnight but I only put the normal amount I would if I were seasoning to eat. I’ve read opinions ranging from absolutely cover to a light sprinkle. Also, does an overnight brining really help? I compared it to a 1 hour and didn’t notice too much a difference. Maybe I wasn’t salting enough.
  2. I put aromatics and butter in the sous vide bag and the steak was obviously quite wet when I pulled it out. Tried drying with paper towels but I’m sure a lot of moisture was retained and the meat was pulling apart a bit as I tried to pat dry. I also baste w/ same aromatics and butter when reverse searing. Is it redundant to do both? Is aromatics/butter in a sous vide bag counterproductive when considering effect on sear? Should I only do one or the other ?
  3. When is the best time to season? I found myself seasoning three times. Once when brining, again when sous vide, and then a final time right before sear. It STILL needed a touch of salt on consumption. I’m sure I’m underseasoning at all stages but curious to know when exactly I should be seasoning for best flavor and sear
This was my first sous vide attempt and it tasted great but it was a bit touch and go.

I am wanting to start a small library with books of repairs around the home and building things. Basically how to be self sufficient when it comes to things I should know. Saving money on home repairs or items and not having to outsource to do things. I wasn't taught how to be self sufficient and need a 'dad-in-a-book' type fix it/make it guide.
I have tried to search in this sub but haven't seen anything related.
So I wondered.. what is your go to/bible that you recommend someone have on their shelves to save money when it comes to this type of thing?

Hey guys, I'm 39, never married, no kids. I live alone since I moved to another country looking for a better quality of life. That said, I find myself very lonely even though I have friends. Most of them are engaged or married, if not all. The same goes for my family.. everyone is married and has kids.
I just work like a dog and have 2 days to recharge and get back at it again.
Ive had relationships here but none have worked out and its been a year since I met or dated anyone. Im starting to feel that I will die alone and no one will ever love me.
I could really use some advice. I am taking anti depressants but theres only so much they can do. Its a bandaid fix, not a real one.

I have 2 cruises booked for 2025. I was able to take advantage of black friday discounts for excursions on the first cruise.
However, even though I've successfully linked my 2nd cruise to my account, I can't pull it up in either the phone app or the website to shop for excursions on the second cruise.
Has anyone else successfully done that?

Caliginous Carnival Part 2 zombie predictions Ok so after the release of Act 1 of Caliginous Carnival, it’s been fun and all as now we wait for Act 2 to come out.
Part 1 we had the stiltwalker, trapeeze/acrobats, and the ringmaster (yeah the buckethead looks kind of like a ringmaster with the outfit) appear as circus performer themed zombies
For part 2 it’s safe to say that the Imp Carnie Cannon and the Magician Zombie are gonna appear in part 2 of the world, but I also think that maybe 2 or 3 of these other type of performers can appear as enemies for the world

I mean seriously what else is their little subplot for if not for more tension for Miguel? (I’m aware of ST ending spoilers and I highly doubt the Sam Axle tension was all for that)
Axle seems like this gentle, socially awkward, giant. Like, I imagine his character is going to go through even more turmoil after Kwon’s death. Axle is clearly not remorseless it would be very out of pocket for him to scoff off Kwon’s death.
I just don’t get it. Where does his character get closure and reconciliation? I think if he gets with Sam it’s gotta end with him understanding they can’t be together, or something…
BUT then if Sam hooks up with axle I thinks that just straight up RUINS her character. In the end, Sam would just be this reckless spoiled brat character who just does whatever she wants and doesn’t truly care for the consequences as she keeps hurting these boys.
What do you think? How does Axle’s character end?

Basically, my interviewer asked me to return true when a sub array is equal to a target sum. For some reason, I did it with prefix sums and a hash map which is extra space complexity. She asked does this work for negative numbers and then I said yes but the question initially said for positive numbers. I solved optimally w prefix sum but she didn’t ask any further optimization. Is that probably a fail? I got the other question correct.
