Do you need to memorise real-life scenarios and case studies for A-level Business?

2024.11.26 21:30 Charming-Coffee1737 Do you need to memorise real-life scenarios and case studies for A-level Business?

Here is an example from the textbook.
"A market-oriented product continually identifies, reviews and analyses consumer needs. It is led by the market. It is much more likely to engage in effective marketing."
Succeeding that is a case study. "Henry Ford was one of the first industrialists to adopt a market-oriented approach. In advance of production, Ford identified the price at which he could sell large numbers of Model Ts. His starting point was the market and the Model T became one of the first 'mass-market' products."
Is it necessary to remember the case study, or can I come up with something hypothetical in the exam? Or is it just necessary to learn the fundamentals of the content

I am visiting India for the next 2 weeks and was browsing Etsy for quilted patchwork jackets, but the stores I came across although based in India, does not actually ship within India. What gives? Are the target audience for these shops only overseas buyers.. it seems silly I can't actually purchase a Made in India piece while in India! :/

2024.11.26 21:30 starpot So You Have A SexBot Addiction, Now What?

ChatGPT Here:
Chatbot addiction and pornography addiction can share behavioral and neurological patterns, especially when the interaction triggers feelings of reward, comfort, or escape. Here's an analysis of what's happening and some steps to address it:
Neurotransmitters at Play
Dopamine: This is the "reward" neurotransmitter. Interacting with a chatbot (or consuming pornography) can create a feedback loop of instant gratification, reinforcing the behavior.
Oxytocin: Engaging with a chatbot, especially for emotional connection, can release oxytocin, the "bonding" hormone, making the interaction feel deeply comforting.
Serotonin: Feelings of well-being or social connection during chatbot interactions can enhance serotonin levels temporarily.
Cortisol: Over-reliance on chatbots can also stem from or exacerbate stress, with elevated cortisol levels driving a need for escape.
First Steps to Mitigating the Addiction Acknowledge the Behavior: Recognize and label the behavior as problematic. Reflect on how it impacts your life negatively (e.g., relationships, productivity, or mental health).
Set Boundaries:
Time Limits: Use timers or apps to limit chatbot usage.
Purposeful Use: Define clear goals before engaging with a chatbot, and stick to them.
Address the Root Cause:
Chatbot addiction often compensates for loneliness, stress, or boredom. Consider exploring healthier ways to meet those needs, such as talking to friends, journaling, or exercising.
Replace the Behavior:
Engage in activities that provide similar dopamine rewards but are healthier, such as physical activity, creative hobbies, or mindfulness practices. Detox Period:
Take a break from chatbots entirely for a set period to reset your brain’s reward system.
Seek Support:
Professional Help: A therapist, especially one specializing in behavioral addictions, can help identify and address deeper issues.
Peer Support: Sharing your struggles with a trusted friend or support group can provide accountability.
Practice Self-Compassion: Understand that overcoming an addiction takes time and patience. Celebrate small victories rather than focusing on setbacks.
Concrete Tools
Track Your Usage: Use apps to monitor the time spent interacting with chatbots.
Behavior Replacement Plan: Create a list of alternative actions to take when you feel the urge to engage (e.g., take a walk, read a book, call a friend).
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Techniques like reframing negative thoughts and breaking the reward loop can help reshape your habits.

So i downloaded this to try it out an tbh it pretty no bad.
I do have one problem though, hence the post, an that's how to claim the house as yours.
Everything is pre-built, I never went near the place until after I had completed the usual quest at lvl 10 i believe for Falkreath Thane an subsequent minor ones for Housecarl.
For obvious reasons i can't build anything so all quests to do with that remain but the important thing is obviously no idea how to actually claim the pre-built home for player.
Anyone any ideas?

2024.11.26 21:30 Meat_sl4yer The thing about crashing.

I've had this one character from 2020 that I played with in vanilla, then remodded the game from scratch at least 3 times, each modlist had at least 300 mods. Currently at 1k mods, that old save went through a lot of baked-in scripts, but surprisingly it runs very well. I cleaned the save few times in 2022, and the funny thing is, I never crash on that character. I can go wherever and its stable af. However I do have issue with new saves, sometimes it would crash when I walk in open world and I assume it triggers something and gives me a crash. Now, I'm not strong on the technical side of Skyrim at all, but I assume it's because my old character has those locations already physically discovered, and new ones - no. Could it be the case?

2024.11.26 21:30 HatMost2770 Wisconsin 100% - Pacing , difficulty, new trucks, crafting, a mixture just right

Wisconsin 100% - Pacing , difficulty, new trucks, crafting, a mixture just right Hey hey everyone it's me, the guy who posts singular massive posts and only once when he 100% a region with the stupid hard mode rules. I am back after 100% Wisconsin!!! This 20 image long report post is for all you "Long Story/Post Enjoyers" out there. If you are not of that camp, as usual, TLDR - just scroll through the pictures.
Wow Wisconsin was truly a delight, coming from 100%ing Yukon. I started end of September, and took a month break between mid Oct and finished it up last weekend. I took a break because I was dreading how to do my "End of Region" finale photo as i had some crazy ideas. At first i was thinking of arranging the 3 large sequoia logs to make something cool, but then to my dismay, i found out that the logs only spawned once the previous one has been "handed in". I got a bit dispirited but eventually had an other idea to make something cool with the rail sections. You'll see.
With an early scan of the contracts i caught a glimpse of the Yukon but it seemed to be a little tuned down here. Still, i fired up my spreadsheet to keep track of all the carcasses and to plan what i had to craft. The Generator took a bit getting used to - I was not expecting it to be a literal "Pay to play" lol, where you pay $ for Gas then use Gas to craft. I was still in the Yukon mindset where i thought i just park the generator there and still had to bring the raw materials, not just fabricating materials using gas (then i found out the regular crafting zones still exist! wth). THEN i realized the hard way that the crafting zones in Grainswood were all regular crafting zones... and i lugged the generator all the way there, oh well... at least it doubled up as a fuel trailer (with GOOD rear winch points thank god). Without further ado:
100% Wisconsin. 399k travelled seemed about right. A bit less cargo and more straight forward paths.
Interestingly... my total money only went up by ~150k, despite receiving $453k I think it must have been due to the unrefundable log trailers, all the gas i used and paid at $4 or $6/L and the money spent upgrading the Paystar and P512F (more on these later). Adding up the little notes i jot down whenever i hit the gas station, it looks like i filled up about 14,360L of gas total, after using up all the free gas.
As usual, my thoughts on Wisconsin:
Pros:
  • Excellent variety of music tracks (what else is new?)
  • They really must have had some serious negative feedback in Yukon (2 useless CAT trucks? da heck?) and put in some serious fun new free trucks in this Season. The Paystar and PF512 were almost TOO GOOD for my playthrough lol. It really made me want to grind through the region with no fatigue or being pissed. This was just how fun those 2 trucks were. The PF512 was a tandem driver's dream and the Paystar, even with its odd 3 bed counter, was solid and neutralized one of the Cons i will list below.
  • Good mix of terrain with some roads, some dirt roads, spread out muds, some water bodies to drive through. Good alternatives to routes depending on your mood. No Snow but i can let it slide.
  • Generous amounts of gas stations
  • The elevations and colours throughout the day/night are real pleasing to look at.
  • Generator doubling up as a fuel trailer was good for "my ruleset" (no need to buy any fuel trailers)
Cons:
  • Lack of cargo trailers on the map!! Like what the heck, i "borrowed" the mobile telephony task trailer and did the full region with it. Mobile Telephony hand in was the last thing i did lol (more on this later)
  • Most or almost all the dirt roads... are these like, "heavily traveled roads" with those serious deep mud ruts, BUT, when you drive on them, the mud ruts are hard AF... which means all the unstable or small vehicles will just tip all day everyday. I thought that they would be soft (because they got molded like that), but nope. When you drive over them with the fleetstar you will get randomly tipped bc the ruts are actually bumps. Thank god for the paystar's stability, even though it chugs gas.
  • Introduction to these small rolling shrubs that you winch to and they just troll-roll down the slope. This was akin to the introduction of the prominence of weak trees in Alaska. Was sort of a game changer. (That and some areas are LITTERED with these and you cant even find the tree you want to winch to). While i am on this topic, can you imagine how much harder this game would be if all the "felled tree logs" were not indestructible lol. Yukon and those maps with the river crossings would be hell.
  • The wood bridges that have the large gaps... they are harder to drive over than anything else if you are in a small truck. Countless times i had to drag my Scout through with the Hummer. (This is why i drive tandem)
  • Carter's House
  • All those "Rock steps"... what the heck? Are they just a "fancy Imandra-esque One-Way-Down-Only" road?
ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!
WELCOME TO WISCONSIN
As i mentioned, i was sorely disappointed when i found out i couldnt make anything with all 3 sequoias together bc of the way they spawned. I originally wanted to make a W.I. with 3 Sequoias and some rail sections, but this alternative had to do with more of the rail sections (I could have tightened up the W a bit but these things were hard to work with).
Some fun facts: I was debating between the Day version or the Night version. Originally the night version sucked, but then i left the Paystar's engine on ( far right) and the dim headlights looked cool. Then i didn't realize how much of a chore it was to tab thru all the trucks to turn them all on lol. You can't see the P512F (Big crane) and Twinsteer (the truck behind the log, to help it stay up) lights on. And the fleetstar is facing the other way but oh well, i'm tired. The big crane's MAXIMUM REACH for height was exactly at the tip of the log, i wasn't sure if i was able to make the Top of the I with the rail section due to the crane's limits. Once i found out it worked, i was frantically trying to just get the shot bc swapping between trucks sometimes make the log tip over. There's another rail section under the log for the bottom "Flange" of the Capital I. Spooky eh, i know.
Obligatory end of Region Fleet Pic:
NA Bois will be resting here until after Amur
Basically every truck you saw in the W.I. photo plus the scouts i used. Scout/H2/Chevy. I actually didnt use the Chevy much, i brought it out but decided it wasn't needed.
Synopsis:
Scouts - Scout + H2 combo. I don't know why i keep trying to use the H2, but i guess every truck needs some love sometimes (except the ANK and Tatarin which i put out of service indefinitely for personal reasons)
Main cargo runners - Before the P512F and Paystar unlock, i was using mainly the Fleetstar Crane+Bed. When i got the P512F (i had to bring the Derry Longhorn to pull the P512 out of the mud), it was the P512F + Fleetstar. This was the golden age of Tandem trucking with the centre winch point on the P512F. Once i got the Paystar in Grainswood, i swapped the fleetstar (too tippy for the dirt sections) for the Paystar for Crane+Bed. The P512 was borrowing the Mobile Telephony trailer until i swapped P512 to logs and put the trailer on the Derry Longhorn instead.
Others - the Twinsteer i brought in during Cargoapocalypse Part 3 for another 4 slots (5 on the Derry, 3 on the Paystar, and 2 on the Kodiak/Fleetstar - Total 14). CAT 745 was brought in for the Diesel engine when the Paystar couldnt do it, and the Transtar when i was destroying all my trucks driving on H and needed a truck for repair parts (cause the restock point is so damn far from Black Badger, the Scouts were not cutting it with their low # of points.)
Logging - i used P512F for the legendary Log Crane + Long Log front combo, and the fleetstar. Whenever planks were needed, i used the Twinsteer and/or Paystar (crane). With the P512F, i no longer need to put the derpy Transtar on stationary Log Crane duty.
Final Thoughts:
Definitely a great region. The combo of Cargopocalypse-Lite, great mix of terrain, cool new trucks, great progression and build-up to the finale. A few hard contracts/tasks to spice up the region. Oh, and this must be the start of the "Here's a cutscene to reward you for all your efforts" in each region as the finale, with the train shipping the sequoias and cellulose out. Another thought is the few times that this map makes you think: "Should i just pick up bricks at the extreme edge of the map, or just suck it up, pay the gas $, and make a few more bags of sand to craft the brick" scratched the itch of logistics thinking. The only times where there were hiccups in my playing were the "truck rescue" missions where they don't tell you whether you need to fuel up/repair the truck after. Those times i was like, wait what, i need to repair this thing?! I got no repair parts here!
Anyhoo, as per my usual Long Posts, here's the picture reel of my time in Wisconsin. Thanks for reading and SEE YOU WHENEVER I 100% AMUR (MAYBE NEVER)
1. Scouting Wisconsin
The Scout with mud tires was almost perfect for this region. Being able to cruise with respectable speeds on H and AWD on through the light mud to explore the scenery was a highlight for me. Very fun. Here is me pulling Mr. B's trailer and exploring the NW of Black Badger. I got screwed with this task because the parts fell off the trailer when it loaded in.... so i had to bring a crane to fix the crap before i could even tow. Those mud slides are pretty painful to drive up.
2. What Happened???
Scouting the rest of Black Badger with the Scout. When i got to the farm, definitely a "Wha Happen" moment. Little did i know that the amazing P512F was waiting for me here (but the Scout couldn't drag it out). Needed to bring the Derry Longhorn to muscle it out. Then take it to the Garage and kit it up. The P512 and Fleetstar would go on to complete the bridge fixing tasks in Black Badger before moving to scout Grainwoods.
3. The Scout-hating Bridges of Wisconsin
I hate these bridges. This is why i drive tandem, even when scouting.
4. Opening up the Black Badger Lake map with the early Duo.
No free trailers meant i had to do some work with these two. Luckily the bridge tasks were all mostly small. I was not gonna buy a trailer until i know Grainwoods also has no free trailers.
5. Scouting Grainwoods Deluge
This area of Grainwoods River was pretty fun to scout. Brought back Deluge vibes from Mudrunner
6. Cleaning up the Lowlands
After commandeering the low saddle trailer, immediately went to work on opening up the bridges in Grainwoods River. This rocky incline was not easy to climb with so much weight & cargo, but these guys made it work.
7. Cleetus is everywhere
Cousin Cleetus traveled all over North America it seems.
8. God damn it, Carter
These Carter quests were pretty funny. What wasn't funny is trying to land a cargo bed truck on his house. After this photo my Fleetstar was nose first into the ground. In hindsight i probably could have lifted the cargo up the side and use another lighter truck with a flatbed to deliver the cargo to Carter. I brought my Paystar with his Yellow crane and pushed the Fleetstar back upright from the canyon below. Perhaps the Fleetstar with a crane was not the best to try to launch over this gap.
9. Styrofoam Logs
After cleaning up most of the Contract/Tasks in Grainwoods, i tackled the Sequoias. I saw someone else call these logs "Styrofoam" and i quickly concurred. I guess for balancing (or "Snowrunner" reasons) they made it liftable with the small yellow crane. Should've been large crane only to add some challenge.
10. Weightlifting, but not for weaklings
The only time i needed the CAT 745 in Wisconsin (other than to pose for the finale picture). The Paystar tipped trying to pull this thing so i called in the big guns.
11. The Four Horsemen of the Cargopocalypse
After clearing up Grainwoods River work, i started on the big Contracts. These four bros completed the first one of the many, the Power Station Contract. Though later i put the Fleetstar on a 2nd long log and subbed in the Kodiak.
12. Painstakingly Hard Contest
Oh man, prepare for a long story here: Before swapping the fleetstar to the Long Logs, i thought to clean up all the contests first. This one, "Cliffhanger Race" was really something else... holy. I attempted it with the Scout first. It was all going well, climbing slowly, (with my mud tires) enjoying the cool views from up top, until i got to this exact point. Whoever designed this one spot, is truly evil... or the guy who designed Imandra. Obviously my Scout with mud tires couldn't make it.... so it fell off, and i lost the contest. With Auto winch i picked myself back up and re-strategized. I noticed that the contest isn't your typical "Scout truck recommended" and it hit me that maybe i should do these with regular trucks. I had my Fleetstar nearby (still kitted with the crane though).
The Naive me thought that i could conquer it without swapping kit, so i just drove right up after my last failure. I got to this spot relatively easy... but then holy crap the truck's left crane leg kept getting stuck on that one rock. I tried everything, like pushing the truck by jamming the crane boom into the ground to try with no luck. The fleetstar fell down and i was so mad that i rage-recovered. This was the first time ever that i used recovery. (I guess i was so pissed at needing time and gas of getting a rescue truck to come here, then driving back to garage that i just said screw it to my "no recovery"). I realized with the crane i was still using the 42" tires (for stability). I took off the crane, put on the best OHD 45s" and drove back in a fit of rage, and finally conquered this contest. THE END. The contest was fun though, but i only had 3 attempts left (Hard mode) so i had to get serious. This one spot required some crazy jerky driving to get your rear wheels up the rocks jutting out but the rest of the contest (mostly downhill) were more reasonable.
13. Logging FOR FUN
To give myself a break from the Cargopocalypse I went and started knocking out the logging tasks. There were many scenic routes that i took to spice things up, but for one of them (log camp NW of Rail) i decided to take the fun way down. Taking the two Long Log trucks down the "Rocky Steps" lol. I got out relatively unscathed, no truck fuel boxes exploded.
14. The Great Stampede of Wisconsin in '24
Where were you during the great Metal Roll Stampede of Wisconsin in '24?
The final load of the Paper Factory Contracts.
15. Wisconsin Celluose Bro-trip
After the Factory contracts, the three bros are getting ready for their Bro Trip. Actually there's only 12 here, so the Twinsteer drove with the Derry, then the Twinsteer came back and drove with the Paystar to finish off the 16.
16. To the Weather Station (Outhouse)!
One of the final contracts at Black Badger Lake before finishing up the Region at Grainwoods River. Here you will see the train of trucks driving up to use the only functioning porta potties in the region (lol). After this i drove every truck i had in Black Badger to the Grainwoods garage to get ready to wrap up.
17. TY for the trailer, unnamed dude, you can keep the reward money and EXP
The last thing i had to do in Grainwoods after setting up and shooting the finale picture, was to deliver the 6 rail sections, deliver the last sequoia, finish yanking Thomas to the railyard, the small fueling contract (+beams and parts) and i was DONE!. To my surprise i was not at 100%... lol... i forgot to finish this task that i borrowed the low saddle trailer from. Sorry dude that it took so long! But you can keep the reward money!
Final Word: I had about 80 pictures from my time here, but again due to the 20 limit (probably for the better for me) i had to cut a few shortlisted pics out from near the end. With how big Amur is, i really dread to think about how to fit it all in 20 pictures!.
So far the DLC regions have all been bangers. Kola, Yukon and Wisconsin.... now i am at the final boss of Year 1. AMUR. The NA bois will sit and rest at the garage while i dust off my Eastern Bloc Bois for the challenge. One of the things that pushed me to wrap up Wisconsin is that i fell in love with the Amur main menu music lol. Need to get MOAR.
PLACE YOUR BETS ON WHETHER I FINISH AMUR OR DIE TRYING. UNTIL NEXT 100% POST
