2024.11.26 22:40 MacDaddyDC WTF is Spectrum’s problem with listing the channels on each tier for cable tv?
I spent a couple hours on their website today trying to simply choose which cable tv tier I wanted to have installed. Went through 2 internet chat sessions with different agents and finally a very frustrating phone call.
I’m already and internet customer and am very happy with it, it’s rarely down and speeds stay consistent.
Does anyone have info on their tv tiers and channels? I’m sick of having to sign in to their site and receive a 2fa text to only go directly to the same spot I was on in a different tab. Regardless of choosing new customer or I have an existing account, just an endless loop of bullshit.
i truly want to compare channels, choose a package with a dvr included, and get it installed. I despise my current Directv and really want to move on from them.

Hello, I am a fifteen year old boy and one year ago I decided to upgade my pc, but I didn’t have enough money so I took some parts from the old pc and put it in the new one and I bought some better parts on amazon. (I bought new gpu, ram, pc case and cpu cooler) One year have past and my pc is running really slow, it needs 5 minutes to boot up and open google for example. I think there is a problem in the parts from the old pc, maybe they are not compatible with the new bought gpu or something. Now I have enough money to change all the parts. So if you have some advice what should I change from the old parts please let me know. I will put all my pc parts in photos.

I (F, late 20s) have been seeing him (50s? M) for over five years but I think I need to quit ... (tw eating disorder, fatphobia)
I've had an eating disorder for about a year (probably longer tbh). I've lost about 33 kg / 70 lbs from january till july through heavy exercise and calorie restriction. Since then I started binging and purging. I'm now at a BMI of 19.8, at my heaviest I was at 29.9 (I'm tall).
Important to note: I'm NOT seeing my therapist for an ED but for a myriad of other mental issues like trauma from childhood abuse. While these issues are obviously related, I have just not been comfortable talking about the ED with him ... and know I'm certain I never will be. Some background info: I grew up poor (lower class if you will) and emotionally + physically neglected. As an adult I have trouble managing my studies, adult responsibilities and fitting in at university as well as in my profession.
Before today, my weight was only once mentioned when he complemented me on my weight loss. What he said today completely devastated me. He told me that due to my weight and clothes, I used to look asocial ("asozial" in German; hard to translate), shabby, lower class, uneducated an generally inappropriate regarding my age and level of education. I was completely taken aback. When I asked, he couldn't name specific outfits but referenced my "appearance in general". However, he mentioned exposed midriff and tight yoga pants / leggings. I argued that I'm now wearing more revealing clothes, showing more midriff (since I feel more comfortable now), as well as more frilly, girly clothes with floral, bright patterns that could be considered childish. For fuck's sake; I was sitting there wearing the EXACT same outfit I used to wear when I was bigger: tight sport leggings + hoodie (was gonna go to the gym after therapy). I called him out for being fat-phobic: obviously it's not about the clothes, it's ONLY about the body wearing them! But I didn't manage to make my point very coherently because I was sobbing the whole time.
I'm devastated. I'm not a moron, I'm aware people treat me differently due to my appearance. But I foolishly assumed it's (USUALLY) due to unconscious biases. This is ... different. It feels like conscious, rationalized fat phobia. He kept calling me out on contradicting myself, but I feel like there is a difference between the people generally treating you more kind and a specific person you know and trust thinking you used to be an unkempt, inappropriately dressed slob. And no shit, of course I'm contradicting myself due to internalized self-hatred and fat phobia.
And I haven't even touched upon the elephant in the room: this therapist just told a person with an ED how horrible they looked before losing weight ... Either he didn't care or was oblivious to my ED symptoms. I'm beyond angry because I wanted to scream at him about my disordered eating and reveal the damage he was doing but I wasn't ready to share that! Instead I was a bumbling, crying mess, incapable of expressing my feelings and thoughts because his revelation took me completely off guard. Knowing his perception of me, I feel like my whole therapy experience is tainted. I am disgusted and feel like I can't trust him anymore. He said that he thought about bringing up my "inappropriate appearance" for years but apparently considered my other issues more pressing. He thought I'd "be smart enough to fix it by myself at some point" and considered himself proven right when I did by losing weight and buying new clothes.
I don't even know what I'm looking for. Advice? Validation? I feel like I'm aware how fucked up this was. Yet still somehow the fact that this actually happened makes me question my sanity.

I had this weird request from management in a previous company I worked at. It was a big public company with a global presence.
For each end to end test case, manually count the number of times all functions in the code path will be called. This will be the expected counts. Now update the codebase to count the number of times each function actually gets called and report those counts. The idea was to compare the expected and actual counts at the end of each E2E test.
This is something that is fairly common in unit tests because it is easy to just look at a few functions and predict the path. But these were E2E tests and there are hundreds of functions in the code paths followed by those tests. Also, there are retries, recursions, mutual recursions, etc in the code. Is it even possible to do so in a reasonable amount of time? If not, is there a way to mathematically prove that it is not feasible?
That was the question. Following is just my rant about the situation.
I tried to tell the leadership(no software engineers in there) that it is a complex code and that this is not possible. But I was met with things like “You and your team own this code so you should know how it works and if you know how it works, you can manually do those counts.” . But the code is at least 5 years old and I did not write it all. But even if I did, there is no way to know everything and just be able to predict a path. Even if I did know everything and I could come up with predictions by looking at a few days, something about doing that kind of work just did not sit well with me.
Unfortunately my performance and bonuses were tied to me completing this work and my team wouldn’t back me either. I just kept delaying it and dealing with negative feedback until I left the company.

I've been watching this show since I was a little kid, from the time it first debuted. I have to say, Melody Thomas Scott deserves some accolades.
First, she has really worked at becoming a sharply-honed actress. She is adept at drama and comedy, and even when the stories and scripts are unimpressive, she's still worth watching.
Second, she's aging beautifully. Today (11-26-24) she llooked splendid.
