Hey everyone, Iām in a bit of a tech dilemma and would love some input from the community. I realize this is a classic first-world problem, but I value your opinions!
Hereās the situation:
- Iāve accumulated a few MacBooks over the years (mostly from previous employers):
- M2 MacBook Pro 13" w/ TB (AppleCare+ until 2026, <10 charge cycles) ā barely used, as I preferred my M1 Pro.
- M1 MacBook Pro 16"
- Intel i7 MacBook Pro
- I recently snagged a 16" M3 MacBook Pro at an auction for under $600. It had a hairline crack that I got repaired under warranty, and I added AppleCare+ right away.
However, Iām unsure if the standard M3 will be powerful enough for my needs. Should I instead:
- Go for a 14" MacBook Pro for more performance?
- Stick with the M2 MacBook Pro, which is practically new?
- Something else entirely?
Would love to hear your thoughtsāespecially from anyone whoās been in a similar situation or has experience with the new M3 lineup.

2024.11.26 23:21 BedNo4299 "The data area passed to a system call is too small" error when I try to open images, the Spotify app, and when I first turn on the computer.
I found this but it didn't help.
The error that pops up when booting up my laptop is probably due to another affected app that tries to launch on startup, but I haven't managed to identify it yet. Spotify used to be the same, I just deleted the app back when I realised it was giving me the error on startup back then. Now it's something else.
I'm mainly annoyed by being unable to view my images.
Also, I have 294GB of free space on my drive so it's not an issue of having run out of storage.

2024.11.26 23:21 Accurate_Test_9993 Gratitude to Corsair for sending me a new case.
My problem simply was that the 3500x front glass panel shattered in my hands. I requested a replacement for that and they sent a new case. Now I have an extra side panel, case, filters etc just in case.
Also thank you to Corsairmars for sending me some combs.
I'm very grateful to Corsair and their customer service, but this makes me wonder, do they not have panels to send individually?
This may explain why the front and side glass panels for the 3500x are not available for sale as for the other cases.
