2024.11.27 01:29 rsam487 Non-painful saddle sore (despite no history of sores)
Can anyone suggest what might be going on here?
I'm largely happy with my bike fit, and have racked up between 10-14 hours since June of this year with zero issues or any saddle sores (I didn't have any before that either, but that's when I really started dialling up the volume).
1 week out from my A Race (3 stage road race), I just got a saddle sore on my right side. I did a trainer-ride last night, and the humidity and heat were a lot higher (my bibs were drenched). The only thing I can think is that the excess sweat caused a sore because I've had no issues prior to this.
Anyone else got any experience with this? It doesn't hurt or anything, and is just a raised bump where I think skin has pinched, possibly from excess movement of the chamois due to the sweat.

AITA if I don't want to repay my mom.
I'm a 25 year old architect,I finished university 2 years ago and also did another 6 month software course,I have been working freelance but its really hard to get jobs. I've been struggling to finish my portfolio and have mental health struggles. To finish my portfolio, I need a new laptop.(side note,my parents got me a laptop in college, It wasn't the right kind. It didn't have the right spec to handle the softwares we use in architecture. I told them it wasn't the right kind, they went on to tell me I'm being ungrateful, and I don't appreciate all that they do for me. So I kept quiet and adjusted for 5 years. It still can't handle many of the softwares I use and has little to no storage space for the softwares I need to install. Add to that, My laptop has been constantly glitching and turning off on its own in between work. ) I figured I'd borrow a laptop from one of my friends to finish the work because my parents have always told me that I should earn my own money and get whatever laptop I wanted, so I didn't even bother asking them to help. But none of my friends was able to spare a laptop as they had work too.
So with no other option left,my parents agreed to get me a new laptop on the condition that I have to pay them back in 2 years to which I agreed. It is an expensive laptop and where I'm from junior architects do not earn much. I'm also type 1 diabetic since I was 6, and I'm on the insulin pump, so my medical bills are high.
While working on my portfolio in therapy,I've picked up a part time job, only for a month and I won't get paid a lot for it either,I just didn't like being absolutely broke.
I ran out of whatever little money I had and needed very little for travelling to and from the therapists office which is where I've been asked to work on my portfolio. I asked my mom for some money, she's never asked me to repay her for travel cost,but now she's decided I need to pay back that as well. As it is when I get a stable job, I'm going to have to give her half my paycheck, and after rent and bills, I'll have nothing left to live on,so is it wrong for me to be upset that she's asking me to repay her? All my life I've heard from my parents that they have always provided me the best of the best and while I do agree they have been good to me, I also do feel more like an investment than their child.

OK, I suspect this will piss off the dog lovers.
I love our dog. He's a great friendly Golden Retriever.
I really do. I take him on long walks. I bathe him. He sits at my feet while I work all day.
So my wife and I were on the couch watching TV. She loves this big silly dog to sit on her lap.
But when the dog sits on her lap on the couch, while I am next to her.... thar means I get his ass and tail shoved in my face.
My wife seems completely inconsiderate of this. So I polite asked her to to not have the dog on her lap. I explained why, I don't want his ass in my face and his tail wagging slapping me in the face.
Wife said I was mean. I ASKED AS POLITE AND KINDLY AS POSSIBLE.
So I got up and walked to our bedroom to go watch TV there. She asked where I was going... I simple said once again "I politely asked you to not his ass and tail in my face. Now I am politely I am going to get into argument over this." And walked away.
She thinks I am some raging asshole over this. Wtf? I love my dog. But I don't want his ass and wagging tail in my face. It annoys me that she doesn't understand how that annoys me.
