I am a substitute teacher, I have worked with the DOE now for a year, and I started working at a school full time in the quality of teacher this November 1.
I have my own classroom, and in Subcentral I am locked in their system until February 15, 2025.
So far I worked at that school the following cycles: Nov 1 - Nov 15 / and now Nov 16 to Nov 30.
Everything is going fine except my pay situation.
Today I got an email from the school admin. telling me that my pay that belongs to the cycle that runs from Nov 1 to Nov 15, and that is supposed to be deposited to my account on December 1, was not approved on time. This was not my fault but an issue they are fixing. Instead that cycle will be reflected on my account on December 16.
MY question is.... will that come in addition to the pay that I am supposed to get on Dece 16, for the cycle I worked from November 16 to November 30? I asked them via email to keep records and they have not reply as of yet.
If not, then they will owe me two cycles and not one like they do with everyone else.
IF they do not pay me all they owe me, can I get the union involved?
I head they did this to several paras last year and had them waiting for their money for a while.

My husband and I have been users of 17.3 inch laptops for years. We use them like they are desktops at our kitchen table. Judge all you want, but it's just what we come back to over and over and it works for us. However, it has always bugged me I'm paying a premium price for a portable computer when I don't even move around with it and it's basically plugged in 24/7 with a noisy fan whirring at me constantly [pause for more judgment] A traditional desktop wouldn't work where we use it, and I don't like the idea of an all-in-one. With our current, rather old lenovo 17.3 laptop at death's door I'm getting the itch to move on.
I'm wondering if a mini PC with a small monitor and wireless keyboard might do the trick. I have enough skills to do some legwork in the beginning if it needs a little more work to set one up vs a laptop out of the box, but I want it to be able to start and perform daily like just a regular Windows PC. My husband is rather fuddyduddy and stuck in his ways so it needs to feel like what he's using now for the most part.
Use wise it's just for surfing the internet, banking, some light word processing ... super basic stuff. I just want it to be faster than the dying lenovo we're using now.
Am I right in thinking a mini PC would fit our needs? If so, should I stick with name brands like Lenovo or get one of the many offered on Amazon or Best Buy?

Hey everyone. I've been playing the PS Cloud Gaming beta, but I'm having a tough time trying to exit games. The PS button, start, select and touch screen don't let me quit the game and go back to the library. The only option is to turn OFF the Portal and put it on rest mode. What am I missing?

I like achievement hunting and going for 100% in games. I had an Xbox and made 17k GS. Had to sell my Xbox and started to play on Steam, it's nice cause the Playstation games and all but I discovered SAM and now Steam achievements looks meaningless...
In the end, achievements in general only make sense to the player who earns them, but I like the concept of GS, I'm thinking about subscribing to GamePass again.

If you did a nephrecomy to treat NCS, what was your left vs right kidney function like?
I just had a renal scan, with and without lasix. Without lasix, my split function is 57% left kidney and 43% right kidney. With lasix, it’s 52% left and 48% right.
I’m not able to go over my results with my doctor for a few months, so I’m very curious (and a smidge anxious haha) to hear what % folks had who chose nephrectomy for treatment… I continue to lean towards nephrectomy over AT or LRVT. Have other folks safely donated with numbers like these?

Sooo my friends wanted to go skiing this January and I wanted to come with obv. But I have never been on either skiis or a snowboard before ( unless you count my feeble attempt at standing on a snowboard when I was 12). Im 188cm 120kg guy who usually sit at the computer all day. Wouldnt say Im weak as i worked in construction with no real strength or stamina issue for about a year in like 2022. My bud is a experienced skiier but he wanted to try out snowboarding too this year and said we could learn together with the help from our other friend who does ride a board.
Is there any at home exercises I should do in preparation? Is it even possible for me to go on a snowboard? I can already feel every muscle in my body scream in agony just by thinking about it lol.
