 | Been making carbon steel SanMai and Damascus for a few years and have wanted to shift to appealing more to professional chefs so I wanted to experiment with stainless for a bit lower maintenance of a knife (things patina real fast in a busy professional kitchen) Unfortunately my local steel supply shop didn't have much to choose from waiting while waiting for their big shipment to come in so I was left with 14c28n as my only stainless option. Actually enjoyed the steel and the more I researched it I'll probably use it again. Core is 1075 with 14c28n cladding, no shims. Edge quenched and came out right around 60 HRC. I almost like making handles just as much as the blade lol. 19F, considering enquiring about Orthodox conversion
Hello, I've been interested in Judaism for as long as I can possibly remember (I have been raised completely secular). I remember a school assembly when I was 7 on Shabbat that blew my mind and a visit to Berlin when I was 8 in particular that made me feel this endless fascination with Judaism that has never stopped.
I'm currently 19 and have continued to study Judaism as much as I possibly can, including doing Religious Studies at A Level and GCSE throughout my education, working for a charity that works against antisemitism, and I am applying to hopefully study Jewish Studies at university after my current gap year. I've taken it upon myself to start learning Hebrew, I keep a strict level of modesty, and although I do not currently upkeep any level of kashrus or observe Shabbos and other festivals, I have many friends around me that do and the more that I learn about all of these things the more of a strong pull I get towards approaching the idea of living a Jewish life - understanding that, of course, this is something that is up to those that would oversee any hopeful future attempts and HaShem. Finally, regarding my situation, both of my parents are not religious but are aware of my situation and beliefs and are not in opposition to my wishes, even if they do not fully understand my mindset, haha.
I was wondering what advice people would have on any idea about taking steps further? I have been pondering emailing the London Beth Din asking if there is any advice that they have regarding any Rabbis of local congregations near me before I leave for London, but I don't know what the situation is regarding me being a student, and if anything changes regarding me studying Judaism. I know it is expected for converts in London to live with an observant family for at least 6 months, so I know that that would likely be incompatible with being a student, but I am sure that there is still a lot of study before then and I would be comfortable waiting or prolonging a process if necessary, I just have this overwhelming urge to contact the LBD for advice. Does this seem like a fair idea? Has anyone got any personal experience converting down an orthodox path in London or an English community? Also, does anyone have any estimations of some of the costs in regard to classes?
Furthermore, I wondered if there is any further study any other people within the process could advise me on. I've read some of the classic book recommendations (To Be A Jew, Understanding Judaism, Living Judaism, Choosing A Jewish Life, and a few others), and I have self studied the weekly parsha to the best of my ability for the last two cycles.

I can't understand online instructions.... I try to do screen readers but because they don't inflect in tone I can't understand it anyways. I try chatgpt but it doesn't get the nuances.
I do use screen readers for research papers and it helps! But instructions are worse for me.
I keep taking hours when it should take 10 minutes, I ask stupid questions that was answered in the message cause I can't understand. I would ask them to call me but they don't have the time. I want to be exceptional. But all I feel is like I'm back in school crying everyday.
I don't wanna be more work than I'm worth for my company. I don't wanna be the person they ask me to help out but I need them to baby sit me so I understand.

I was misdiagnosed with schizo about 8 years ago. I’ve been off of antipsychotics for over 2 years now and my current psych removed My label sincr I never had schizo (it was severe ptsd and dissociation)
given the fact that I have a precious dx (admitted wrong by my psych) of schizo, will that prevent a service from working with me?
Also, is dissociation a barrier for working with ketamine? to give you some context, even weed dissociates me wayyyy too much.
It’s either ketamine or stellate ganglion block but that’s hella expensive.
do you guys have any advice? thank you

Question about delayed side effects. I've been on Rybelsus since mid Sept. history: - 3 mg for a month - felt effects positively and only a day or two of nausea. Then suddenly appetite came back completely at end of month. - upped to 7 mg however no effects still. Lasted a week at that level before I started to take 10 mg (7+3 mg pills) which worked. - started 14 mg which was going well but then I caught gastro virus and couldn't stomach taking the pill so took a break for 3 days. - just because I was worried about a sudden surge of nausea went back to 7mg a couple days to get back to 14mg. Suddenly a noticed way bigger change to appetite and some nausea spikes (manageable though) never had before. This is making me wonder if suddenly, despite the tiny break in pills and dosage, the meds have built up in my system and I'm seeing the effect kind of delayed! I've read some other places that this is a slower med to work its magic. Any thoughts?

2024.11.27 01:39 XansHuzzah Today I Learned: Pipe Junctions are also flow limited
The pipe junctions appear to be flow rate limited at 600 m3/min just like Mk. 2 Pipes. That may seem obvious, but I made a rate-limited junction causing my Turbo Fuel plant to run inefficiently. Yay overloaded pipes.
My setup had 2 inlet pipes with their own pumps and two outlet pipes going to different halves of the factory. The two inlets (with their own pumps) added to more than 600 into the junction, so it could be split equally into the two outlet pipes. So no one pipe was more than 600 m3/min, but because the junction doesn't say it had a limit I didn't think about it.
I fixed it, but because I didn't think about the junction itself having a limit, I ran into backed up upstream and under-fueled downstream. Hopefully this helps someone else.

Newer rider! Having issues with 07 cbr600rr where headlights will be on and work but if I stall the bike and go to turn the bike over again the headlights won't turn on with the bike...
at times I have to turn the bike off and try turning it over again....could this be a problem with the wiring or a bad bulb/battery or just a feature with the bike I'm not aware of? Thank you for the help this is a big problem at nights when trying to ride.
